Mumbai, April 8 - The fictional friendship saga between two real-life Indian freedom fighters in the 1920s, "RRR" is going great guns at the box office, bringing joy among the audiences and exhibitors. The movie has completed two weeks at the box office and it has scored approx. 975 crores gross worldwide. ## The SS Rajamouli-directed period action drama film will become only the 3rd Indian movie to gross 1000 crores worldwide and the target will be archived by the 3rd Saturday. At the domestic box office, "RRR" has grossed approx. 790 crores in two weeks, including 245 crores in the dubbed Hindi version. ## The Hindi version of the film was always going to be very important for the makers as it involved high stakes. The movie has also delivered big time and emerged as a super hit by collection 208.59 crores net in two weeks. In the second week, "RRR" minted 76 crores, dropping just 42.70% from the opening week of 132.59 crores.## Talking about the all-time highest second week grossing Hindi movies, the Jr. NTR/Ram Charan-fronted epic takes the 10th spot on the list, dethroning "Padmaavat" (69.5 Cr.) from the position. Mumbai, April 6 - It is quite strange to use such a headline for an article when we talk about the box office collection in Hindi, but that's how things have become. "KGF: Chapter 2", an outright Kannada movie that will also be released in dubbed versions of other languages including Hindi, is going to be the next big film as far as biz is concerned. ## Having said that, the Yash-fronted movie has been arguably the most-awaited Pan India film that is the second chapter of Kannada's most successful film of all time. While the Hindi dubbed version of the first chapter did score only 44.42 crores net, it was enough to set the tone for the second chapter. Just like SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali 2", Chapter 2 of KGF is touted to run riot at the Hindi box office, which is the biggest hope for the makers. ## Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment will be distributing "KGF 2" in Hindi in association with AA Films. The film is carrying a similar kind of buzz as "Baahubali 2" in Hindi and that's what makes it a film to watch out for on the box office front. The industry is projecting it to open around 25 crores net but we think it has more potential than that and it could open with 30+ crores. With restrictions on cinemas having been lifted, one would rely on the film to open big considering the kind of potential and buzz it is carrying. ## "KGF: Chapter 2" will have a direct clash in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor-fronted "Jersey", which is the official remake of the Telugu movie of the same name starring Nani. In normal times (without clash), "Jersey" could open a huge start at the box office but the same can't be said this time around, especially when it is up against a mighty competitor "KGF 2". ## However, it is still early to rule out "Jersey" as the makers seem to be very confident about their product that they even refused to send it directly on the OTT platform despite getting big offers. Also, Shahid Kapoor's last release, "Kabir Singh" was a massive blockbuster with a worldwide gross of 377 crores. Shahid has always been a fan favorite but the box office success of Kabir Singh made him one of the most bankbale stars in the Hindi film industry.## Both "KGF 2" and "Jersey" will be released on Thursday on the occasion of Vaishakhi. While the industry is projecting Shahid Kapoor-starrer to open around 10 crores, it could get the benefit of a long Holiday weekend if the word of mouth is strong. But it will be KGF 2, which will have the upper hand throughout the weekend. If Prashanth Neel gets positive reviews, then it will be unstoppable at the Hindi box office. ## There is one more film that will be released during the same weekend is Thalapathy Vijay's "Beast". It will open a day earlier on April 13 on the occasion of Tamil New Year. The makers recently announced that it will also be released in Hindi along with other dubbed versions. While Thalapthy Vijay has some fan following in the North region, the movie, however, is unlikely to pause any challenge to "KGF 2" or "Jersey" unless it turns out to be something extraordinary. It will get the benefit of releasing a day earlier, but the makers don't seem to be too optimistic about its box office prospects in Hindi that they haven't put an extra effort to promote the movie expect releasing a couple of promos. The current talk of the town has leapfrogged Salman Khan-fronted "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and Aamir Khan's "Secret Superstar" to claim the 3rd spot among the Indian movies. ## The period action drama, starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles, has scored 923 crores worldwide through the second Monday. At the domestic box office, the movie has grossed 745 crores while overseas, it minted approx. 178 crores. The USA is leading the overseas chart for "RRR" with approx. 95 crores. ## Salman Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which is considered one of the finest Bollywood films of the last decade, had grossed 922.03 crores in its lifetime box office run. The overseas total of BB was higher than the domestic gross due to China, where it minted 295 crores. The total overseas cume finished at 489.47 crores against 432.46 crores gross in India. ## "Secret Superstar", a musical drama film that featured Aamir Khan in the extended cameo role, had grossed 912.07 crores worldwide, including 831.47 crores overseas. Mumbai, April 4 - With SS Rajamouli's "RRR" continuing to break box office records across the country, the next big film in the lineup is Prashanth Neel-directed "KGF: Chapter 2", which is slated for April 14 release. The period action drama film, fronted by Yash, is seeing the potential highest Indian grosser of the year. ## The second installment of Kannada's highest-grossing film of all time, 'KGF: Chapter 2" is having a massive craze in overseas markets too where it is expected to create new box office records.
