Mumbai, January 18 - Marvel/Sony Pictures' "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is setting new benchmarks at the domestic as well as the international box office. The superhero movie is heading towards a $1 billion overseas box office, that too without a single penny from China. ## The Tom Holland-fronted film has so far grossed $926.3 million through 63 international markets and over $700 million domestically (North America), pushing global cume to $1.62 billion. It is currently the 8th highest-grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office and will grab the 6th spot in the list by the end of next weekend.## Meanwhile, "No Way Home" has become the highest-grossing film of all time in Mexico with $72 million. In Brazil, it is the second highest-grossing film ever with $50.4 million, so in Central America ($12.6M) and Ecuador ($7.9M).## In North America, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" becomes the 4th highest-grossing film ever. After the end of the 5th weekend, it was the 5th biggest-grosser there with $698.7 million and became 4th biggest on Monday by crossing Marvel Studios' "Black Panther" ($700.06 million). ## The Jon Watts-directed is likely to finish with $1.75 billion globally. The number could go higher if it gets a release date in China, which is the biggest movie market in the world. However, the movie has done its job and whatever comes further is a bonus. Mumbai, January 17 - Allu Arjun's "Pushpa - The Rise" is proving to be a long racehorse in the Hindi version. Directed by Sukumar, "Pushpa" hasn't been affected by the early OTT premiere, especially in the Hindi version as it continues to light up the box office. ## "Pushpa - The Rise" had a digital premiere of the Hindi version on January 14 on Amazon Prime Video after 28 days of theatrical release. Before "Pushpa" was started premiering on Prime Video, it had already netted over Rs. 84 crores in Hindi, making it the 3rd biggest Hindi total during the covid-19 pandemic. ## However, even after the OTT release, the Hindi version of the film continues to draw footfalls at the cinema halls as it netted approx Rs. 4.50 crores in the 5th weekend at the box office, taking the total collections to approx. Rs 89 crore. With no competition at the moment, the movie is taking the full use of a clear path and attracting people to theaters despite the covid-19 3rd wave and OTT premier. ## Maharashtra and Gujrat are driving the Hindi biz of "Pushpa - The Rise" and these two states are key in the film's race to enter Rs. 100 crores club. Though the 100 crores milestone is looking far from reality with the things at the moment, it could still have a last big shot if the covid-19 situation doesn't get worsen. ## With the success of "Pushpa" in Hindi, Allu Arjun proved his stardom in Hindi belts. Over the years, the actor's movies have drawn the attention of Hindi audiences on television, and "Pushpa" was the first major test to prove his stardom right. It is safe to say, he has not only passed the test but also raised the expectations for his upcoming films. ## The Telugu makers have already decided to release the Hindi version of Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde's 2020 blockbuster "Ala Vaikunthapurramloo" on January 26. Mumbai, January 13 - Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif-starrer "Sooryavanshi" turned out to be a savior for the Bollywood film industry in the last year. The cop-drama not only became the biggest Bollywood hit during the covid-19 pandemic but also emerged as the highest grosser of the year with a worldwide collection of Rs. 293 crores.## Directed by Rohit Shetty, "Sooryavanshi" grossed Rs. 230.8 crores in India while its overseas collection finished at Rs. 62.2 crores. By the end of its 3rd weekend, "Sing 2" will likely stand at $107 million domestically.## Overseas, the Matthew McConaughey/Reese Witherspoon/Scarlett Johansson-led film has earned approx $68 million, pushing its worldwide box office total to $175 million. The 85M budgeted film was theatrically released in the United States on December 22, 2021. The superhero flick, headed by 25-year old Tom Holland, has been a massive turnaround as far as box office is concerned. When the global box office needed someone to bell it out from the covid-19 pandemic, "No Way Home" shouldered that responsibility and became the global box office king during the health crisis. ## The Marvel/Sony film has so far earned over $1.40 billion at the worldwide box office, becoming the 11th highest-grossing film of all time. At the domestic box office, it has so far grossed $644 million over 22 days. By the end of the 4th weekend, it will become the 6th highest-grossing film of all time at the domestic box office (North America), leapfrogging "Jurassic World" ($652M), and "Titanic" ($659M).## The overseas box office total of "No Way Home" are even stronger than its domestic total. With $759 million in international markets, it is currently the highest-grossing Hollywood film overseas during the entire covid-19 pandemic. "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is already the highest-grossing film at the domestic as well as the worldwide box office for Sony Pictures and also the first $1 billion grosser since December 2019 and the 3rd fastest ever to reach $1B global mark. ## The box office records aren't the only achievement "No Way Home" has gained. This record-breaking juggernaut had begun in August 2021 with the first trailer of the film. The trailer had received an unprecedented response all across the globe which helped it to break the 24-hours all-time viewership record. ## The trailer racked up 355.5 million views worldwide, far outpacing previous record-holder Avengers: Endgame, which boasted 289 million views for its inaugural trailer over its first 24 hours. Worldwide views for the "Spider-Man: No Way Home" trailer are more than double those of the second trailer for "Spider-Man: Far From Home", which boasted 135 million views worldwide in its first 24 hours.## Directed by Jon Watts, the movie stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man alongside Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Jamie Foxx, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Benedict Wong, Tony Revolori, Marisa Tomei, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire in prominent roles. ## In the film, Parker asks Dr. Stephen Strange (Cumberbatch) to use magic to make his Spider-Man identity a secret again following its public revelation at the end of Far From Home. Mumbai, January 8 - "Spider-Man" fans in India will have to wait for a longer period to watch "Spider-Man: No Way Home" on the digital platform after the theatrical window of this global blockbuster has been extended in the country. The Tom Holland-fronted, which has grossed over Rs. 260 crores in India so far, will continue to play exclusively in theaters for at least two more months. ## Vivek Krishnani, Managing Director, Sony Pictures Films India says, "The fact that this is the biggest post-pandemic global hit indicates that the audiences are ready to return to theatres if the film in question offers them everything they are looking for. 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' did exactly that".## He adds, "Even though the franchise already had an enviable fan base, the film exceeded everybody's expectations with a staggering star cast, scaled up, breathtaking action, and multiple twists that took the fans by complete surprise and took their breath away. The film will hence continue to stay in theatres because it is still attracting diehard fans for repeated viewings".## The Marvel/Sony superhero film, which was released on December 16 in India in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, has played a massive role in bringing people back to theaters. It had the widest release ever for a Hollywood movie in India, which helped it to take a thundering opening at the box office.
