Hyderabad, November 1 - Director SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Epic, a one-cut version combining his path-breaking Baahubali duology, has shattered records to become the biggest-ever Telugu re-release blockbuster. The epic action drama has enjoyed a full-fledged re-release — not just across India but also in key international markets — marking another milestone for the franchise.
Starring Prabhas in the titular role, Baahubali: The Epic had its grand premiere on October 30, grossing approximately 5.25 crore worldwide. Notably, re-released Telugu films rarely have premiere shows, making this record-setting feat even more remarkable.
What's more impressive is that the premiere earnings of the film alone surpassed the opening day collection of several major Telugu films released this year, which proves the undeniable legacy of Baahubali films. Following its historic premiere, the film recorded a massive opening day globally, with double-digit collections across India.
As per early estimates, Baahubali: The Epic grossed around 12.50 crore on its opening day domestically (including 1.35 crore from premieres), while its overseas collections are around 6–7 crore, taking its worldwide total to an extraordinary 19–20 crore.

With these figures, the film has become the highest-grossing Telugu re-release title and the second-highest-grossing South Indian re-release film of all time, behind only Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli, which grossed over 30 crores worldwide. The previous biggest Telugu re-release grosser was Mahesh Babu's Khaleja (11 crores).
Let alone the re-release, the opening day collection of Baahubali: The Epic would even make the most of the original release envious. It is, however, worth noting that Telugu films normally don't have a proper re-release; instead, they are more like a celebratory re-release. But even with that, Baahubali is miles ahead of them.
The 3-hour and 45-minute-long cut will most likely become the highest-grossing Indian re-release grosser by tomorrow or the next day, beating Sanam Teri Kasam, which grossed around 40 crores earlier this year. Baahubali: The Epic, however, will be eying much more as a genuine interest, for it can be seen among the audience even after 10 years.
