Chennai, May 17, 2021: South Indian actor and Makkal Needhi Malam chief Rajnikanth, on Monday, met the newly elected Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu state, MK Stalin, and congratulated him on his victory in the election. ## Rajinikanth donated Rs. 50 lakh to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Relief Fund as the state continues to battle the second wave of Covid-19 and also urged people to follow the covid guidelines to help the state in the fight against the virus.## "To eradicate corona, I have donated ₹50 lakhs to Tamil Nadu CM Relief Fund. People should follow, whatever the rules and regulations are given by the government to overcome the Corona", Rajinikanth was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.## Meanwhile, on the work front, Rajinikanth recently wrapped up his part of his upcoming movie, Annaatthe. Directed by Siva and produced by Kalanithi Maran under his production banner Sun Pictures, the movie is scheduled to release on the occasion of Diwali this year on 4 November. ## On the health front, the superstar took his second dose of covid-19 vaccine a couple of days ago in Chennai. Chennai, May 17, 2021: Kollywood superstar Suriya may have received criticism for his move of releasing his film, "Soorarai Pottru" directly on a digital platform, but the movie got appreciation from one and all, not only in India but also from the global audience. ## "Soorarai Pottru", which is based on the life of the Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath, received rave reviews from critics and audiences for its story and brilliant acting by everyone in the film. Viewers lauded Suriya for his act and Sudha Kongara for brilliant direction. ## Now, after winning the hearts of people, Soorarai Pottru is one of the highest-rated movies of all time on IMDb. Among the IMDb's Top 1000 movies based on the ratings, "Soorarai Pottru" is ranked third with 9.1 ratings out of 10 in the list, only behind the 1994 American drama film, "The Shawshank Redemption" (9.3), and the 1972 American crime film, "The Godfather" (9.2). ## This Suriya starrer is also the only Indian film in the top 50 most-rated movies on IMDb. Cesaro finally got an opportunity to swing Universal Champion Roman Reigns out of his spot at the head of the table when The Swiss Superman challenges The Big Dog at WrestleMania Backlash. ## Roman Reign back to the vertical space, dropped Cesaro with a shoulder tackle, Cesaro with a LeapFrog followed by a Shoulder tackle for the cover, but kicked out at two...Roman Reigns rolled out, taking his time in the consultation with Paul Heyman. Roman back inside the ring. ## Cesaro with a massive Springboard Uppercut into the middle. Roman Reigns handled the situation and then ducked Cesaro over the top rope. Cesaro landed hard on the ground, but back inside the ring. Roman Reigns back in control, Cesaro once again taken out. ## Roman Reigns relished the pain, Cesaro suffered, Reigns couldn't believe it as Cesaro kicked out at once count. Cesaro landed hard on his back as Roman Reidngs did have a Samoa Joe for the cover...1..2...kicked out at two. ## Cesaro just blocked a Superman Punch and instead touched a Pop-up Uppercut into the middle, Cesaro with more Uppercuts for the cover, but kicked out. ## Cesaro appeared with the Sharpshooter, Roman Reigns pulled the upset and rolled out. At WrestleMania Backlash, WWE Champion Bobby Lashley looked to carry The All-Mighty Era forward but had to overcome the presence of both Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman. ## In a matchup established by WWE Official Adam Pearce, The Scottish Warrior overcame The Viper and The Monster Among Men in a Triple Threat Match to earn the right to once again go to war against The All-Mighty in an epic WrestleMania WWE Championship Rematch. ## All three with trash-talking prior to the match, Meanwhile, Braun Strowman attacked harmed way both of them. Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre worked together to take on Strowman. McIntyre & Lashley with a Double Suplex to Braun Strowman. ## Drew McIntyre now targeted Bobby Lashley. Braun Strowman with an air Bomb off the apron to take down McIntyre and Lashley who was fighting ringside. Braun Strowman along with Lashley back inside the ring followed by a Chokeslam for the cover, but kicked out at two. ## Drew McIntyre got involved in the Brawl, Drew McIntyre ripped the shots for both. In the main event of the first night of WrestleMania, Belair Belair realized her dream when she conquered Sasha Banks and captured the SmackDown Women’s Title in epic fashion. ## There is no rest at the top of the mountain, however, as the E-S-T of SmackDown put her coveted title on the line against Bayley at WrestleMania Backlash. ## Bianca Belair kicked off the match by taking Bayley out of the ring. Bianca Belair dominated the opening part, Bianca Belair with a massive Slam as Bayley rolled out of the ring. ## Bayley grabbed the earning allowing Bayley to cause damages, Bianca Belair was ripped into the turnbuckle. Later, It was known that Dominik Mysterio won't be making it to the match. Thus, Rey Mysterio handled the match solely. ## The injured Dominik Mysterio walked in during the match. At WrestleMania Backlash, new Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley must test her mettle with the odds stacked against her when she takes on former titleholders Asuka and Charlotte Flair in a Triple Threat Match. ## WWE WrestleMania Backlash opens up with the Triple-Threat match for the Raw Women's Championship. Charlotte Flair out first walked down to the ring. She was followed up by the former Raw Women's champion Asuka. Up next was "The Nightmare" Rhea Ripley. ## Here we go...All three women circle around at the opening moment, Charlotte Flair rolled out of the ring, Rhea Ripley and Asuka forced Charlotte Flair to be in. Charlotte with a Big Clothesline to Rhea Ripley, Asuka out of nowhere taking Charlotte Flair over the ropes. ## Asuka and Rhea Ripley lead the bout ahead, Rhea Ripley sent Asuka flying over the top rope where she confronted Charlotte Flair who punished her around. The movie, which was released on 12 November last year via Amazon Prime Video, was made available for screening at the 93rd Academy Awards but missed to make an entry in Oscar nominations. ## Directed by Sudha Kongara, Soorarai Pottru has now been selected for the Panorama section at the Shanghai Film Festival, which is set to take place next month. The festival is scheduled to run from the 11th of June till the 20th. ## The movie was also selected as one among ten Indian films to be screened under the Best Foreign Film category at the 78th Golden Globe Awards which took place on February 28, nearly two months later than normal this year. ## The movie is based on the life of the Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath.
