The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 has been suspended indefinitely following the rise in cases of COVID-19 within the bio bubble.## Yesterday, Kolkata Knight Riders' Varun Chakroborty and Sandeep Warrior came positive for the coronavirus which led the KKR match against RCB to be rescheduled. However, the latest development to trigger a total rethink on the tournament is the positive COVID-19 test result of Sunrisers Hyderabad's Wriddhiman Saha and Delhi Capitals' Amit Mishra.## Around 12 noon, the top officials of the BCCI were to meet to take a final call on the fate of the tournament with rescheduling the entire tournament being one of the agenda points. The BCCI had contemplated moving the remaining IPL to one city but the latest development has not left BCCI with much options. ## It is said that BCCI asked a few franchises to know their views on the tournament's future. Mumbai, May 4, 2021: Mohanlal starrer Malayalam movie, Drishyam 2 which recently premiered on Amazon Prime Video became a digital blockbuster after getting rave reviews. And now, the movie is set for its Hindi remake as Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak's Panorama Studios International has acquired the Hindi remake rights of this suspense thriller. ## Panorama Studios had also produced the Hindi remake of Drishyam with Ajay Devgn reprising the role of Mohanlal along with Tabu, Shriya Saran, and Ishita Dutta in key roles. While Drishyam was directed by Nishikant Kamat, the details of who will helm Drishyam 2 and the cast will soon be announced.## Director of the original film Jeethu Joseph said in a statement, "The story of Drishyam 2 resonated with people and I am so glad that Panorama Studios will make it reach to a wider audience with the Hindi remake. Mumbai, May 4, 2021: Due to the second covid-19 wave, there are lockdown-like restrictions in most of the states of India which has affected daily activities. In Maharashtra, which has been the home of the Hindi film industry, the situation is really bad which has put many film and tv shoots to a halt. ## Meanwhile, the next phase of vaccination has begun in India under which, all above 18 years of age are eligible to get the vaccine. Yash Raj Films, one of the leading production houses in India, has decided to bear the cost of vaccinating the registered members of the Hindi film industry. As per a letter to the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), YRF has decided to vaccinate almost 30,000 members of the M&E industry free of cost.## In the letter, the production house has mentioned that the Hindi film industry has suffered a lot amidst the pandemic and it is necessary to start it at the earliest so that 'thousands of workers can start earning their livelihood again'. The letter also mentions that the production house has made a request to CM Uddhav Thackeray to give them permission to purchase the vaccine and the cost of it will be handled by Yash Raj Foundation.## Later, FWICE wrote a letter to the CM requesting him to consider YRF's request. Talking about the urgency of the members of the film industry getting vaccinated, the letter mentioned, "Vaccination is very important not only to fight the disease but also to fight against the dropping economy of the state". Mumbai, May 3, 2021: Actress Kangana Ranaut took to social media to question governments and people on the way we are compensating for all the oxygen that we are forcefully drawing from the environment. Her tweet came as India is witnessing a huge surge in the covid-19 cases which is causing deaths due to lack of oxygen. ## Kangana wants the governments to announce relief for nature apart from announcing more and more oxygen for humans. She also pledges to people to work on improving air quality. ## "Everybody is building more and more oxygen plants, getting tons and tons of oxygen cylinders, how are we compensating for all the oxygen that we are forcefully drawing from the environment? Los Angeles, May 3, 2021: As the covid-19 pandemic is slowing down in North America, the theaters in the USA have started to reopen after more than a year. Among them, Los Angeles' "New Beverly Cinema", which is owned and operated by filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, is also set to see the light again.## In a post shared on its social media channels and website Saturday, the historic revival theater (located on 7165 Beverly Blvd.) announced plans to reopen on June 1. After the unexpected passing of the family patriarch and the operator of the theater in 2007, Tarantino eventually bought the building to save the property from the redevelopment.## Last March, New Beverly Cinema announced that they would be closed until further notice amid the covid-19 pandemic.
