The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is very much willing to host a farewell match for the former India captain and two-time world cup winner Mahendra Singh Dhoni, according to a senior board official.## MS Dhoni has announced his retirement on the evening of Independence Day of India (August) and put an end to his glorious 16-years of an international career. Dhoni who has a habit of keeping himself away from the limelight announced his retirement via an Instagram post and video. ## Over the 16-years of career, Dhoni has achieved a lot as a captain and as a player. He is the only captain in the history of cricket to win all three ICC trophies - the ICC T20 World Cup (2007), the ICC ODI World Cup (2011), and the ICC Champions Trophy (2013). ## And now, looking at his achievements, BCCI believes that MS Dhoni has done a lot for India and deserves a proper farewell. And therefore, the board will reportedly have a word with Dhoni during the IPL regarding his desire to play a farewell game. ## "There is no international series right now, maybe after IPL, we will see what can be done because Dhoni has done a lot for the nation and he deserves all the respect. We always wanted to have a farewell match for him but Dhoni is a different player. He announced his retirement when nobody was thinking of it", the official told IANS. ## "Surely we will speak to him during the IPL and that would be the right place to get his opinion about a match or series. Well, there will be a proper felicitation ceremony for him no matter if he agrees on it or not. That will be our honor to felicitate him", he added. ## Former Indian all-rounder Madan Lal also said that Dhoni deserves a farewell match and BCCI can host a series in India after the IPL so that fans can see Dhoni in action in the blue jersey for the last and final time. ## "I would be really happy if the BCCI hosts a match for Dhoni. He is a legendary player and you can't let him go just like that. His fans would want to see him again in action". ## Although MS Dhoni has said goodbye to the Indian jersey, he will be in the action leading Chennai Super Kings in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League starting on Septemeber 19 in the UAE. ## Stay tuned...

Baahubali fame, Prabhas is all set to team up with the Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior director Om Raut for upcoming magnum opus Adipurush. The movie was announced on Tuesday (August 18), and this dream project of Om Raut is said to be an adaption of Ramayana.## This mega budgeted project will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair under the banners of T-series and Retrophiles. Going with the theme of this movie, Prabhas reportedly will enact the role of Lord 'Ram' in this epic drama. ## Talking about the project, Prabhas said in the statement as reported by Hindustan Times, "Every role and every character comes with its own challenges, but portraying a character like this comes with tremendous responsibility and pride. Fantasy cricket platform Dream 11 has bagged the title sponsorship for the Indian Premier League 2020 with a winning bid of INR 222 crore.## Dream 11 beat Unacademy (INR 171 crore) and Byju's (INR 201 crore) to clinch the deal which will run from 18 August to 31 December 2020, IPL chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed to Cricbuzz. ## Earlier, BCCI had suspended the VIVO's title sponsorship for the year 2020. VIVO had signed a five-year deal in 2018 worth INR 2199 crore, which earned BCCI about INR 440 crore a season.## According to the revenue sharing agreement between BCCI and IPL franchise owners in 2018, the teams earned 50 percent of the income from the central rights - including broadcast, title, and other sponsorship deals struck by the board.## This means approximately INR 111 crore will be split between the franchises for this season, which is about half of the amount (INR 220 crore) received from the VIVO's sponsorship .## This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the rise in the coronavirus cases in India, IPL will be played in the UAE from 19 Septemeber to 10 November.## Stay tuned...

Mahendra Singh Dhoni surprised the entire cricket fraternity along with his fans by announcing his retirement from the international cricket on Saturday, August 15. MS Dhoni who has a habit of keeping himself away from the limelight announced his retirement with a formal Instagram post along with a video. ## "Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired", read his Instagram post.## However, he might have stunned everyone with a surprise retirement, Chennai Super Kings isn't looking overly concerned with the future of their captain with the side. One of the most loved franchises of the Indian Premier League, CSK wants MS Dhoni to play for them as long as he can. ## "He has quit international cricket only. He is going to play for CSK. We want to play for us as long as he wants. Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam movie director Nishikant Kamat who was suffering from liver cirrhosis has succumbed to the disease at the age of 50 in Hyderabad on August 17, Monday. ## Earlier there were reports of Nishikant Kamat being stable, however, he did not show much improvement and his condition got a lot worse. The director was in a private hospital in Hyderabad and was being treated for his condition. While everybody is paying tribute to the great Mahendra Singh Dhoni who has hanged his boots from the international cricket on August 15, Bollywood stars are not behind to remember the fond memories with the former Indian captain. ## Actor Ranveer Singh who is a very big fan of cricket especially MS Dhoni has a special memory with Dhoni to share with his fans. Taking to his Instagram handle, Ranveer Singh posts a long note with some of his pictures with MS Dhoni. He recalled the time he met with MS Dhoni for the first time as an assistant director for Dhoni's add shoot in 2007/08.## Remembering his first meeting with MS, Ranveer said that he was excited to meet Dhoni despite being injured at that time. "This little gem of a photo is one of my prized possessions. It was taken around the year 2007/08 at ND Studio in Karjat. I was about 22 years old, working as an assistant director. I took up this particular job only because the ad film featured the one & only MS Dhoni. I was overworked and underpaid, but I didn’t care- I just wanted to be in His presence", the actor wrote. ## "I was even injured at the time, but I worked through the pain in the hope that as a reward for my sincere efforts, I would be granted a chance to briefly meet MSD and maybe get a photo with him. When I finally met him, I was completely awestruck. He was so humble, so down-to-earth, full of grace, and exuded an unmistakable aura of kindness. My love, respect, and reverence for him grew even stronger".## He further wrote that his next meeting with Dhoni happened after his first movie Band Baaja Baaraat when their common hairstylist, Sapna who helped him to meet Dhoni because he was a big MSD fan. ## "After I did my first movie, Sapna (who was our common hairstylist at the time) called me one day and said ‘hey I know you’re a massive MSD fan, he’s shooting at Mehboob studio, come & meet him if you’d like’. Man-oh-man! I just dropped everything and rushed to the studio to meet him! He was jovial and warm and praised my performance in BBB. We hung out, I had my cap and jersey signed by him, like a true fanboy.
