Kochi, December 1 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal reunited with the actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran for an action thriller L2: Empuraan which is the sequel to their 2019 mega-blockbuster Lucifer. It is easily the biggest Malayalam movie in the making and is being seen as the best bet for Pan India success.## Empuraan has been in the making since last year, and now, after 14 months of production, the makers announced the compilation of the shoot with a new poster. It was shot across 8 Indian states and 4 countries including the UK, USA, and UAE. Mumbai, December 1 - After a dull couple of months post-Stree 2's mega success in August, the festival of Diwali brought good luck for the Bollywood film industry in November, thanks to the two of the most-waited films - Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again. ## Rohit Shetty's directorial cop action drama Singham 3, starring Ajay Devgn, was the bigger film. However, it was Kartik Aaryan's horror comedy that rocked the show and won the clash with a superb collection in India and worldwide. SA though wasn't too far and did reasonably well at the box office.## Even after 4 weeks of release, both films doing well on a day-wise basis at the domestic box office, and thanks to that, their combined net collection has topped 500 crores making it the biggest Diwali ever at the Indian box office. ## Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has emerged as a super hit and through the 5th Saturday (30th day), it has minted approximately 255+ crores net collection. On the other hand, Singham Again is an average-to-hit venture with around 245 crores net collection in the same number of days. ## As reported earlier, BB3 is the biggest grosser for Kartik Aaryan as well as for director Anees Bazmee and the rest of the main cast. It is expected to finish its run around 260-265 crores net which is excellent. SA is likely to end its box office run around 250 crores net which is good considering the big clash. ## Stay tuned...

Los Angeles, November 30 - A record-breaking Thanksgiving weekend is ongoing at the North American box office with the top 3 films - Moana 2, Wicked and Gladiator 2 going all out for the big money. Only these three films alone are projected to earn a gigantic over $375+ million over the 5-day weekend. ## Meanwhile, amid the Moana 2's monstrous opening, Ariana Grande-Butera and Cynthia Erivo's epic musical fantasy film Wicked has breached a major box office milestone at the domestic box office as it has become the highest-grossing musical adaptation and first to reach $200 million in North America. ## Directed by Jon M. Chu, Wicked grossed a strong $32 million on its second Friday, pushing total domestic (North America) cume to $214.3 million. It has beaten Grease (1978) which grossed $190 million to become the biggest musical adaptation grosser domestically. ## Wicked is projected to finish its run, at least, at $450 million with a chance to go past $500 million at the domestic box office. Chennai, November 30 - Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan has taken a giant step towards becoming the next big star in Tamil cinema with his latest war action drama film Amaran which has emerged as the biggest Tamil blockbuster of the year and one of the biggest in recent times. ## Released on October 31, the Rajkumar Periasamy's directorial has bossed the box office, grossing approximately 325 crores worldwide in 30 days so far. It is the second highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 after Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All-Time. ## Amaran has benefitted from the extended theatrical window which has been normalized to just 4 weeks by the industry. The blockbuster run of the film prompted the makers to extend the window by 1 more week and it will now arrive after 35 days which is the first for a recent Tamil title. ## On Saturday (November 30), Netflix announced that Amaran would start streaming from December 5, which is 35 days after the theatrical release. It will be streaming in all 5 languages, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada. ## Produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, in association with Sony Pictures Films India, the film is an adaptation of the book series India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, which contains a segment based on Major Mukund Varadarajan, played by Sivakarthikeyan. ## The film follows Indhu Rebecca Varghese (Sai Pallavi), Mukund's wife, who narrates the life of the Major on her way to New Delhi to receive the Ashoka Chakra, which was awarded posthumously to Mukund.## Stay tuned...

Chennai, November 30 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja is having a fantastic time at the Chinese box office and has crossed 20 crore gross mark in just 2 days (including premieres) and is heading towards a very good opening weekend collection. ## After grossing $633K+ (5.40 crores gross) in the premieres, followed by $550K (4.60 crores gross) on the first day, the Nithilan Saminathan's directorial venture breached the million dollar mark on Saturday (2nd day), thanks the positive word of mouth there. ## According to the local box office platform ENT Group, Maharaja has grossed approximately $1.10 million (9.30 crores gross) on its second day, pushing the total collection to around $2.30 million (19.50 crores gross) at the Chinese box office in 2 days. It has crossed the 20 crore mark including pre-sales for tomorrow.## The film sold over 200K tickets on Saturday and the total admissions so far are 420K+ which is the highest for an Indian title there post the Covid-19 pandemic. The opening weekend collection is probably heading for 30+ crores which is fantastic. ## The worldwide collection of Maharaja is now approximately 126 crores gross, including the Chinese collection and it will be breaching the 150 crores mark soon which is a big achievement. Hyderabad, November 30 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan has teamed up with Uppena director Buchi Babu Sana for his next, a rural action drama tentatively titled RC 16. Mythri Movie Makers produce the movie for which the shoot has already begun. ## The makers have roped in a superb star cast to headline the project with Ram Charan. Actress Janhvi Kapoor, who made her Telugu debut with the recently released superstar Jr. NTR-starrer Devara, has been confirmed to play the female lead in RC 16. ## Mirzapur fame and Bollywood actor Divyenndu will also be a part of the film and the announcement for the same was made on Saturday (November 30), marking the actor's debut in Telugu cinema. Apart from Mirzapur, Divyenndu has been a part of successful Bollywood films like Madgaon Express and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. ## Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar will also be starring in the film in a prominent role while Jagapathi Babu plays the role of antagonist. A few more notable actors are also expected to join RC 16, which is one of the most anticipated films in the making. ## AR Rahman is composing the music for this movie and Ratnavelu is handling the cinematography. Chennai, November 29 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has a $500K+ opening day as total collection crossed $1 million (including premieres) at the China box office. This is the first Indian movie in recent times to cross this particular milestone in China. ## Directed by Nithilan Saminathan, Maharaja minted approximately 5.40 crores gross ($635K or ¥4.6 million) in the premieres. It had a full-fledged release on November 29 and the film grossed $550K+ (4.65 crores gross) on its first day, according to the local box office website, ENT Group. ## The total collection of Maharaja is $1.18 million (10 crores gross). The advances for tomorrow (Saturday) are good which should lead to another good day. The movie also touched 100K admissions on the first day with total footfalls are around 220K so far. ## Including the China collection, Maharaja has crossed 116 crores gross worldwide and depending on how films perform in the coming day there, the movie has a chance to achieve new milestones. Mumbai, November 29 - The biggest Indian film of the year, Pushpa 2 - The Rule is all set for a massive release across the world. Starring superstar Allu Arjun along with Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, the action drama is scheduled to hit the big screen on December 5. ## During the press meeting of the film in Mumbai, producer Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers said that Pushpa 2 will be released on over 12,000 screens worldwide, making it the biggest release for an Indian title. The film will also be released in IMAX and the producers confirmed that it will be the biggest IMAX release for an Indian film. ## Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 - The Rule is in the last leg of the promotion which began with the trailer launch event in Patna amid the presence of lakhs of people on November 17. The makers had the event in Chennai, Kochi, and now in Mumbai before the final meet in Hyderabad. ## The movie is produced by Mythri Movie Makers in association with Sukumar Writings.
