Mumbai, September 1 - Maddock Films' horror-comedy Stree 2 is a one-horse race at the box office with no competition at all. The movie continues to be the first choice of moviegoers which leads to explosive third weekend collection domestically. ##' The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rai-fronted blockbuster scored a sensational 47 crores net collection in its third weekend after an estimated 21-22 crores net on Sunday. With this, it has scored the biggest third weekend ever in Hindi, beating Baahubali 2's approximately 42.50 crores net.## Stree 2's total India net collection is around 480 crores after 18 days and it will be breaking into the magical box office club of 500 crores net by the end of this week. It will be the first Bollywood movie of 2024 to enter the 500-crore club. ## As said, Stree 2 is chasing history at the box office. The movie is on track to beat Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan (582 crores net) to become the biggest Hindi grosser ever domestically. Mumbai, September 1 - Kangana Ranaut-fronted biographical drama film Emergency is set to be postponed from September 6. The movie, directed and headlined by Kangana, has been facing issues since the trailer was launched recently. ## Yesterday, Kangana shared a video stating that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has stalled the censor certificate amid threats and demanding major cuts. While the official announcement has yet to be made, it is said that the movie has been postponed as it is yet to get a censor certificate. ## Emergency has been in the news for quite some time now. Mumbai, September 1 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted mega-blockbuster Stree 2 has become the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2024 at the overseas box office, after beating Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's Fighter. ## The horror-comedy, directed by Amar Kaushik, has grossed an estimated 110 crores internationally in 17 days so far, surpassing the lifetime overseas total of Fighter's 104 crores. These two are the only Bollywood films of the year to cross the 100-crore mark outside India. ## Among the Indian films of the year, Stree 2 is behind only Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD (275 crores approx.) at the overseas box office. Kalki is a multilingual release and it grossed over 50 crores in Hindi internationally. ## Produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, Stree 2 is nearing 700 crores mark at the worldwide box office. After the third Saturday (17th day), it grossed approximately 657 crores, including 547 crores (458 crores net) in India. Hyderabad, September 1 - After the back-to-back action films, Pan India superstar Prabhas is gearing up to steal hearts and send shivers down the spine in his next film, a romantic horror-comedy titled The Raja Saab. It is directed by Maruthi and produced by People Media Factory. ## The shoot of The Raja Saab is currently happening at a brisk pace. The Raja Saab is unlike previous films of Prabhas, however, it is going to be as costly as some of the biggest blockbusters of the Indian cinema. While it never looked as high on the scale as previous films, it is shockingly carrying a massive budget. ## The film's producer Vishwa Prasad said in a recent interview that The Raja Saab is going to be a visual wonder and its scale is bigger than what the makers have imagined. Chennai, September 1 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time, which is the actor's penultimate movie before his political entry, is turning out to be one of the costliest Indian films ever. The movie is produced by AGS Entertainment and directed by Venkat Prabhu. ## Scheduled to be released on September 5, The GOAT is easily the most anticipated Tamil movie of the year and CEO of AGS Entertainment, Archana Kalpathi revealed in a recent interview that the film's budget is close to 400 crores which is massive. ## The 400 crore budget of the film includes Thalapathy Vijay's remuneration which is said to be 200 crore, making him one of the most paid Indian actors. Hyderabad, August 31 - Natural star Nani's action thriller Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is heading towards emerging as a box-office success after a good first three days. It comes as a needed breather for the Telugu film industry after the disastrous Independence Day week releases.## Directed by Vivek Athreya, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram had a good first 2 days with a worldwide box collection of approximately 28.50 crores gross, including approximately 17.50 crores domestically. The movie is having a very good first Saturday (3rd day), expected to be around 10 crore gross domestically.## The movie is heading towards 43+ crores worldwide gross after the 3rd day, and this is one of the biggest opening weekends for a Telugu title of 2024. Interestingly, it has outgrossed the combined total of Independence Day Telugu releases, Double iSmart and Mr. Bachchan. ## The Ram Pothineni-fronted Double iSmart has grossed only 20 crores so far while Ravi Teja's Mr. Bachchan has made only 14 crores worldwide. Both films have almost completed their run at the box office with a disastrous combined total of 34 crores which has been outgrossed by Nani-starrer in just 3 days. ## Saripodhaa Sanivaaram needs to score a gross collection of around 70 crores at the worldwide box office to emerge as a hit. Hyderabad, August 31 - Telugu superstar Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule post-theatrical streaming deal has officially been locked in all languages.## As reported earlier, Netflix has bought the streaming rights of this highly-anticipated blockbuster in all languages. According to the latest reliable Telugu media reports, the streamer has paid a whopping 270 crores to acquire the post-theatrical rights of the movie. ## Earlier, there were reports that the makers were quoting 250-300 crores price for the streaming rights and now, it has finally been locked in the middle of it. This is said to be the biggest-ever single streaming deal for an Indian movie across all languages. ## Directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, Pushpa 2 is the continuation of the superhit Pushpa - The Rise which was released in 2021. The Hindi version of the movie was a big success and Pushpa 2 is expected to be among the biggest box office grossers in Hindi.## Allu Arjun plays the titular role in the movie which also stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead and Fahadh Faasil as the antagonist. Mumbai, August 31 - Critically acclaimed folk horror thriller Tumbbad is making its way back to the big screen this September. ## The film, directed by Rahi Anil Barve, is set to be re-released on September 13. It was supposed to get re-issued on August 30 but has been pushed back by 2 weeks. The makers announced the re-release date on Saturday with a new poster. ## The poster features the film's protagonist, Vinayak Rao (played by Sohum Shah), leading his young son Pandurang (played by Mohammad Samad) through the night with a lantern, with an atmosphere of supernatural elements of their journey. ## The film, written by Mitesh Shah, Prasad, Barve, and Gandhi, and produced by Sohum Shah, Aanand L. Rai, Mukesh Shah, and Amita Shah, tells the story of Rao's descent into greed as he hunts for a mythical treasure guarded by a malevolent entity named Hastar.## Tumbbad was originally released in October 2018 and it was hailed as the finest folk horror movie of Indian cinema. Mumbai, August 30 - Blockbuster director Ali Abbas Zafar is returning to Yash Raj Films to direct some of the biggest films upcoming films from the studio, reports Variety. ## The Sultan director made his directorial debut with YRF's romantic comedy Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, starring Katrina Kaif, Imran Khan and Ali Zafar in 2011. He followed this with Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor's Gunday (2014) for the studio. ## Zafar got his biggest breakthrough under YRF in 2016 when he directed superstar Salman Khan's sports drama Sultan which is his highest-grossing film to date. A year later in 2017, the filmmaker reunited with Salman for another blockbuster, Tiger Zinda Hai, the second instalment of YRF's popular spy universe franchise created by YRF head Aditya Chopra. ## After making his first 4 directorial ventures for Yash Raj Films, Abbas Zafar reunited with the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star for the third time for Bharat (2019) which was the filmmaker's first movie outside YRF, before he directed 2 OTT films - Jogi (2022) and Bloody Daddy (2023). ## After scoring big success with all his theatrical films, Ali had a rare misfire earlier this year in the form of Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which bombed at the box office. Now, after nearly 7 years, the successful filmmaker is making his way back to YRF where he scored a couple of his biggest blockbusters.## It is not yet clear which upcoming YRF projects Ali will direct and the report says it will be original theatrical tentpole titles.
