Chennai, August 27 - Recently, it was reported that Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan would be teaming up with Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj after the filmmaker's Coolie with superstar Rajinikanth. Now, a new buzz has surfaced regarding the duo's collaboration. ## According to the latest Tamil media reports, Aamir Khan would be playing a cameo role in Coolie which is currently in production. While the official confirmation is yet to be made, it is said that the actor will have a crucial role in the context of the film. ## It is to be noted that Lokesh Kanagaraj had offered the same role to superstar Shah Rukh Khan but later declined the role as SRK doesn't want to feature in an extended role though he has huge respect for legendary Rajinikanth. ## If all goes well, Coolie will mark Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan's reunion after the 1995 Bollywood film Aatank Hi Aatank. Noteably, it will be the first time when Aamir Khan will work with Lokesh Kanagaraj before the director makes his Bollywood debut with the Dangal star, as reported.## Coolie is produced by Sun Pictures, and it also stars Upendra, Sathyaraj, and Shruti Haasan in prominent roles. Mumbai, August 27 - Bollywood Queen and the newly elected member of parliament, Kangana Ranaut has received death threats ahead of her film Emergency release which is scheduled for September 6. The movie is directed and stars Kangana as the former prime minister, the late Indira Gandhi.## The movie is based on the true events of The Emergency, a 21-month period from 1975 to 1977 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had a state of emergency declared across the country by citing internal and external threats to the country. It has been termed as the darkest chapter in India's democracy. ## Ever since the trailer of the film was released, Kangana Ranaut and the team have been facing backlash, especially from the Sikh community for allegedly portraying them in a negative light. Mumbai, August 27 - Maddock Films and Jio Studios' horror-comedy Stree 2 has become only the second Indian movie of 2024 to sell over 2 crores tickets at the Indian box office, after Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD. ## The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted blockbuster sold nearly 1 million tickets on its 12th day, second Monday (Krishna Janmashtami), for total footfalls of approximately 2.06 crores (20.06 million) in 12 days so far, behind just Kalki 2898 AD which has sold 3.63 crores of tickets. ## Notably, Stree 2 has sold 20+ million tickets in just a single language while Kalki is a multi-lingual movie. In Hindi, the Prabhas-starrer blockbuster sold approximately 1.56 crores of tickets in India which is the second highest of the year. Hrithik Roshan's Fighter is at three with 1.17 crores footfalls in Hindi.## At the box office, Stree 2 is nearing 500 crores gross collection in India. Hyderabad, August 27 - After the historic blockbuster success of RRR (2022), Telugu superstar Jr. NTR returns to the big screen with director Koratala Siva's action drama Devara: Part 1 which is scheduled to be released on September 27 in multiple languages.## It has been one of the most-awaited Pan India movies and according to the latest Telugu media reports, shows in India for Devara will start at midnight, from 1 AM on September 27. Mumbai, August 26 - After the all-time biggest second-weekend collection in Hindi, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted Stree 2 scores a good hold on its second Monday, which is a partial holiday on the account of Krishna Janmashtami.## The day-wise box office trend of Stree 2 has been heavily frontloaded so far, and the momentum continued on its 12th day (second Monday) though the drop is harsher than expected by around 60% for an estimated 17-18 crores net collection. ## The second Monday collection of Stree 2, however, is big enough to take the total to past 400 crores net at around 401+ crores, making it the first Hindi film of 2024 to do so. The full second week of the film is heading for around 135 crores net which is huge. ## The horror-comedy blockbuster is expected to enter the 500 crores net club during the third week, and then, it will chase Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan (582 crores Hindi net) in its pursuit to become the biggest Hindi net grosser of all time.## As said, Stree 2 has an open run till September 6, and even after that, it is expected to remain a strong force at the box office which makes it a serious contender to beat Jawan. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, August 26 - Maverick director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is set to direct Pan India superstar Prabhas and Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor in his next films. The filmmaker delivered a monstrous blockbuster last year in the form of Ranbir Kapoor-fronted Animal which was the talk of the town after getting released in December.## It has been over 8 months since Animal was released and the fans are now waiting for the filmmaker's next film. During a recent interview, Vanga shared that he already has planned his next two films on which, he would be working for the next four years. ## As known to everyone, the Kabir Singh director has Prabhas-fronted Spirit as his next film. He shared an update that the pre-production work on the movie has already started and will be released in the next 2 years, which means in 2026 only.## The initial plan was to start the filming for Spirit by 2024 end and release it in 2025, however, it seems the shoot will start early next year for the 2026 theatrical debut, as revealed by the filmmaker. The movie will be a pure mass entertainer, unlike the previous 2 films of the director. ## After Spirit, Vanga will start Animal Park which is the sequel to Animal. Ranbir Kapoor will return to reprise his double roles as Ranvijay Singh Balbir and Aziz Haque. There is no shooting timeline set yet but the movie is expected to go on floors by the end of 2026 for a 2028 release. ## Both Spirit and Animal Park will be produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series with Vanga's Bhadrakali Pictures. Mumbai, August 26 - Bollywood has its first mega-blockbuster of 2024 as horror-comedy Stree 2 has surpassed 500 crores gross at the worldwide box office, doing this in just 11 days since its release on August 15. ## Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the leading roles, Stree 2 has become the first Bollywood and the second Indian film of 2024 after Kalki 2898 AD to top 500 crores worldwide. Overall, it is the 14th Bollywood and 23rd Indian movie to achieve this milestone. ## The blockbuster sequel has grossed approximately 460 crores at the Indian box office and an estimated 90 crores overseas, for a worldwide cume of approximately 540 crores in 11 days. This makes it the 23rd highest-grossing Indian and 14th Bollywood film at the worldwide box office. ## Stree 2 will cross Dhoom 3 (558 crores gross) and Tiger Zinda Hai (558 crores gross) with its second Monday's (12th day) collection to become the 21st biggest Indian grosser of all time. Mumbai, August 25 - One of the most-awaited Pan India movies, Suriya's fantasy action drama Kanguva is reportedly on the movie, again. This hasn't been a smooth journey for Siva's directorial which has been in the making for the past 2 years. ## Recently, Lyca Productions scheduled superstar Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan against Kanguva on October 10. This move led to a big shock to distributors as both movies are hugely awaited and the clash would have definitely dented their chances at the box office.## With Vettaiyan being the last to lock the October 10 release knowing all the possibilities, it led to speculations that Kanguva would be postponed to avert the clash and now, the latest reliable reports have confirmed the same. It is said that distributors want Kanguva to come solo to make the most of its potential. ## While the official announcement regarding the postponement is yet to be made, it is being reported that Kanguva, produced by Studio Green, will now be released on October 31, during the Diwali weekend. Mumbai, August 25 - Mega blockbuster Stree 2 has a historic second weekend at the domestic box office with well over 90 crores net collection, making it the biggest 2nd weekend ever in Hindi beating Sunny Deol's Gadar 2.## After the excellent opening weekend, followed by the week, the Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy exploded again in its second frame. Acceptance among all age groups and the lack of major competition are making sure Stree 2 remain one of the best-performing films in recent times. ## Directed by Amar Kaushik, the blockbuster film scored the biggest second Saturday by edging past Animal and repeating the feat, Stree 2 has scored the biggest second Sunday with a very good margin by topping Gadar 2 as early estimates suggest 43-45 crores net on its 11th day. ## The second weekend of Stree 2 is 93+ crores net which is the biggest ever in Hindi, ahead of Gadar 2 which scored approximately 91 crores net last year during the same time. The total collection of the movie has reached around 386 crores net, and it will be breaking into the 400 crores club by tomorrow (second Monday). ## Stree 2 is now assured to enter 500 crores net club as it has an open run till September 6 and that shall be more than enough for it to achieve the milestone. Mumbai, August 25 - Bollywood star Akshay Kumar's action thriller Sky Force has been postponed from October 2nd release. Based on the true events of one of the deadliest air strikes by the Indian Air Force, the movie is directed by Abhishek Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani. ## Produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films and Jio Studios, Sky Force was supposed to be the studios' next release after the latest box office sensation Stree 2 which has crossed 500 crores gross worldwide. While the reasons for the postponement are not known yet, reports say Sky Force will now be released in January 2025.## Interestingly, the promo of Sky Force was supposed to be attached with Stree 2 in theatres but was postponed, giving the first indication of its delay in the release. The Gandhi Jayanti weekend is now vacant as far as Bollywood is concerned and there are rumours that one big movie might shift to that slot. ## Akshay Kumar plays the role of an Air Force officer in the film which marks the acting debut of Veer Pahariya, the son of renowned businessman Sanjay Pahariya. Mumbai, August 25 - Earlier this year, it was reported that Bollywood star Ajay Devgn would team up with Mission Mangal director Jagan Shakti for the first time. The movie will be produced by Ajay under his banner Devgn Films. ## According to the latest report by Mid-Day, the film in question will be a jungle adventure, on the lines of Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones. The concept has largely been unexplored in Indian cinema and it is certainly the first of its kind movie for the Singham star. ## The script of the movie is currently in progress and the report says that the movie will be set in the forests of India, with Devgn on a quest to find an ancient relic. The story will have historical significance and will be steeped in folklore and mythology. ## The yet-untitled movie will be heavy on VFX and is expected to go on floors by December this year. It is said that the movie is being designed with children in mind. The film will feature high-octane set pieces and stunts. Ajay will sport a rugged look, donning a leather jacket and carrying a backpack. ## Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn will next be seen in director Rohit Shetty's highly-anticipated cop action drama Singham Again which is scheduled to be released on Diwali this year.
