Mumbai, August 17 - Amid the struggle of other films, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's horror-comedy Stree 2 is turning out to be an unstoppable force at the box office, already one of the biggest grossers for the talent involved. ## After the sensational first 2 days, the Amar Kaushik's directorial blockbuster scored a huge first Saturday, crossing the 40 crores net mark for the second time in its short run so far. According to the early estimates, Stree 2 scored in the range of 43-45 crores net collection on its third day. ## The film's total collection after three days (including previews) is around 135 crores net, which already makes it the 3rd biggest Bollywood grosser of the year. Stree 2 is expected to breach the 50 crores net mark on Sunday and then follow it with a rocking collection on Monday which is the national holiday due to Raksha Bandhan. ## Considering the trend, Stree 2 is expected to score 215+ crores net over the 5-day opening weekend. Even after the holiday period, the movie will have no real threat for the next few weeks which should help to continue with a strong collection during the weekdays.## At this point, 400+ crores net lifetime collection looks well within reach but it will be interesting to see if it can go on to touch 500 crores net. ## Stay tuned...

Chennai, August 17 - The wait is over as Thalapathy Vijay's much-anticipated trailer of the sci-fi action thriller The Greatest of All-Time (The GOAT) trailer has been released ahead of the September 5 release of the movie.## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the GOAT trailer takes Vijay into a new territory where is playing the role of an agent at the Special Anti Terrorism Squad (SATS). The trailer shows the actor fighting the baddies everywhere - inside a train, in the air, and on water, while at the same time, saving the nation.## Vijay is playing a dual role in the movie as a father and son. The makers have used de-age technology to create the son's character and it has come out very well. The trailer promises to be a non-stop action entertainer with Yuvan Shankar Raja's electrifying background music.## AGS Entertainment produces the movie and it also stars Prashanth, Prabhudeva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Ajmal Amir, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren, Yugendran Vasudevan and Akilan. Kochi, August 17 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's long-awaited fantasy film Barroz has once again been postponed from September 12 and is now to be released on October 3rd during the Gandhi Jayanti weekend. ## Directed and headlined by Mohanlal, the movie is based on the novel Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure by Jijo Punnoose. On Saturday (August 17), Mohanlal took to social media to announce the new release date. It will be the actor's next release since Malaikottai Vaaliban in January this year.## Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, Barroz has been in the making since 2021. The movie was initially planned for a March 2023 release before it was postponed to Onam 2023. However, due to the delay in the post-production work, it was again postponed to March 2024, and then to September 2024 release, and will not hit theaters in October.## In the movie, Barroz, a treasure guardian (played by Mohanlal) has been protecting Vasco da Gama's hidden treasure for 400 years and has been entrusted to hand over the wealth only to a true descendant of da Gama. Mumbai, August 17 - Pan India superstar Prabhas has teamed up with Sita Ramam director Hanu Raghavapudi for his next film, tentatively called PrabhasHanu. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the movie was officially launched on August 17 with a traditional Pooja ceremony.## The yet-untitled movie is said to be a period action drama, set in the 1940s and is the tale of a warrior who rose from the shadows, emerging from a society that believed war was the only answer to the buried injustices and forgotten truths that history kept hidden from the world.## Debutante Imanvi is the lead actress opposite Prabhas in the movie, while the yesteryear eminent actors Mithun Chakraborty and Jaya Prada play pivotal roles. Mumbai, August 17 - Maddock Films and Jio Studios' horror-comedy Stree 2 has topped the 100 crores net collection and become the fastest Bollywood movie of 2024 to achieve the feat, reaching the milestone in less than 3 days.## Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, the blockbuster sequel scored approximately 91.70 crores net in the first 2 days, including previews. On its third day (first Saturday), it scored an estimated 43+ crores net and with that, the movie has crossed the 100 crore mark, becoming the 4th Bollywood movie and 10th Indian movie of the year to do so.## Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is the 7th film of Shraddha Kapoor and the second for Rajkummar Rao (after Stree) to top 100 crores net collection. For director Amar Kaushik, it is his 3rd 100 crores net scorer after Stree and Bala. Overall, Stree 2 is the 122nd movie in Hindi to score a box office century.## Stree 2 opened to a historic collection of over 60 crores net, including 8.50 crores net previews. Bengaluru, August 17 - The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) announced the winners of the 70th National Film Awards at the National Media Center in New Delhi on Friday (August 16), to honour feature and non-feature films certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2022. ## Among the big winners, Kannada production house Hombale Films scored 4 National Awards wins. Rishab Shetty-fronted action thriller Kantara won the Best Actor award to Shetty and the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. Mumbai, August 17 - Sony Pictures romantic drama It Ends With Us is turning out to be a surprise success at the Indian box office with a good collection. Directed by Justin Baldoni, the movie stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni in the leading roles.## It Ends With Us was released with almost no awareness among the Indian audience and started with 2/3 shows in Key English-speaking cinemas, but thanks to the positive response from the Thursday Preview, it quickly spread to more than 300 screens.## The film had a very good opening weekend of approximately 5.25 crores gross box office collection and went on to collect around 9 crores in Week one making it the biggest romantic Hollywood film of all time in India besting The Fault in Our Stars which had a lifetime Gross of 6.4 cr.## The movie had a good hold on the second Friday as well collecting around 45 lakh gross despite massive competition from 6 local films including Stree 2, Khel, Khel Main, and Double iSmart. Chennai, August 17 - Tamil star Dhanush's action thriller Raayan is all set to premiere digitally after the record-breaking box office performance. The movie is written, directed, and stars Dhanush in the leading role alongside Sundeep Kishan, Selvaraghavan, Kalidas Jayaram, and Dushara Vijayan, among others.## Released on July 26, the A-rated blockbuster is the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 so far with a worldwide box office collection of around 152 crores gross. The movie has been in theatres for more than three weeks and is now set for its digital release.## Produced by Sun Pictures, Raayan will premiere via Amazon Prime Video on August 23 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada, languages. Mumbai, August 16 - Sunny Deol-fronted epic war drama Border 2 is easily one of the most-awaited Indian movies. The movie, which is the sequel to 1997's epic blockbuster Border, was announced earlier this year with Sunny returning to reprise his role and Anurag Singh taking the directorial duty. ## Recently, it was reported that Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh was roped in to play a prominent role in the movie and now, according to the report by Pinkvilla, Bollywood star Varun Dhawan has signed on for Border 2 and the actor will headline the film along with Sunny Deol.## "Border 2 is the biggest film in Indian Cinema in the making, and the team is making it even bigger with the casting by getting Varun Dhawan to play a major role in the tale with Sunny Deol. Border franchise holds a special place in the heart of the audience, and the casting of Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan in the sequel is sure to elevate the appeal even further", says the report.## The report further revealed that the shoot of Border 2 will commence in November this year and Varun is expected to join the filming after the release of his action thriller Baby John in December this year. Mumbai, August 16 - Marvel Studios and Disney's superhero comedy Deadpool and Wolverine has officially become the highest-grossing R-rated (equivalent to A-rating in India) movie of all-time at the worldwide box office, beating Warner Bros. Pictures' Joker. ## Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the titular roles, Deadpool & Wolverine has earned $1.08+ billion globally so far, which takes it past Joker which had grossed $1.07 billion in its lifetime run. These two are the only R-rated movies to top $1 billion worldwide.## As reported earlier, Deadpool 3 is the first Disney-released Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie since Avengers: Endgame in 2019 to top $1 billion globally, and, it is also the first R-rated movie released by Disney. Overall, it is the first MCU title since Sony's Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) to reach the milestone.## Earlier, the third Deadpool instalment scored the biggest opening of 2024 at the domestic (North America and Worldwide box office with $211 million and $444 million, respectively.
