Mumbai, August 3 - Ajay Devgn-fronted romantic thriller Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is heading towards becoming a huge disaster at the box office after failing to score must big jump on the second day after the disastrous opening. ## The Neeraj Pandey's directorial feature scored one of the lowest openings featuring a credible movie star at approximately 1.85 crores. The opening of the movie almost sealed its fate but it could have reignited hopes by scoring big on Saturday and Sunday which is not happening.## According to the early estimates, the film scored in the range of 2.25 crores net on its second day/first Saturday, with around a 20% jump which is not enough to gain the lost ground. 2-day collection of the film is around 4 crores net as the first weekend is headed for a disappointing 6.50-7 crores net.## Janhvi Kapoor's Ulajh is showing a much better trend than AMKDT, however, the overall collection remains low as it also heading to meet the same fate as Ajay Devgn-starrer. On its second day, Ulajh scored an estimated 1.50-1.75 crores crores, jumping by around 40% from the opening day.## The total collection of the movie is around 2.75 crores net after 2 days and the first weekend is expected to be around 5 crores net. Though the overall collection of Ulajh remains low it is showing a better trend which might lead it to finish above AMKDT in the lifetime run.## Stay tuned...

Chennai, August 3 - Tamil star Dhanush's action thriller Raayan is turning out to be a huge box-office success, crossing 100 crores gross worldwide in just 8 days. It has become only the third Tamil movie of 2024 to hit the box office century after Indian 2 and Maharaja.## Written, directed, and headlined by Dhanush, Raayan grossed approximately 3.50 crores domestically on its second Friday (8th day), taking its total domestic cume to approximately 72.75 crores gross. The movie nears 50 crores gross in Tamil Nadu after 8 days and will cross this figure on Saturday.## At the overseas box office, the A-rated action blockbuster has minted an estimated 32+ crores gross, taking the worldwide cume to over 100 crores mark at 105 crores approx. in just 8 days. Raayan is Dhanush's third 100 crore worldwide grosser after Thiruchitrambalam and Vaathi.## Produced by Sun Pictures, Raayan will become Dhanush's highest-grossing movie by the second Sunday by crossing Vaathi (116+ crores worldwide gross) and Thiruchitrambalam (117 crores gross). All three 100 crores grossers for the actor have come in the last 2 years. ## The movie stars Dhanush in the titular role, leading an ensemble cast which includes S. J. Mumbai, August 3 - Kalki 2898 AD started the 6th weekend with a decent hold though the trend is slowing down. It has been difficult for Telugu movies to sustain for a longer period at the box office in recent times but the Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic has been defying odds to hold its ground. ## The movie scored approximately 65 lakh net collection on its 6th Friday (37th day), dropping under 50% drop from the 5th Friday which is a decent hold. Though the makers announced a heavily discounted offer for the 1 week from August 2nd, it didn't make much difference as it still could have scored this collection with regular prices with a few lakhs here and there. ## The total collection of Kalki 2898 AD stands at an estimated 636.50 crores net (756 crores gross) after 37 days in all versions. At this stage, it looks unlikely for the movie to top 650 crores net, however, it will top Shah Rukh Khan-fronted Jawan's lifetime domestic collection of 640 crores net (760 crores gross) in the coming days to become the 4th biggest grosser at the Indian box office.## At the worldwide box office, the Nag Ashwin's directorial blockbuster stands at an estimated 1030+ crores gross, including 274+ crores from the international markets. Mumbai, August 2 - Amid the low expectations, Ajay Devgn-fronted romantic thriller Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha sinks further to score one of the lowest openings for the actor in many many years which was expected given the almost nothing buzz.## According to the early estimates, AMKDT scored in the range of 2 (+/-) crores net on its opening day. The opening of the movie is lower than Akshay Kumar's Selfiee which is a major disappointment. There is not much hope left due to the poor word of mouth.## The pre-sales of the movie were horrible but it was still expected to take a decent start due to the presence of Ajay Devgn. The opening weekend will be under the 10 crores net mark, making it the back-to-back disaster for the actor after Maidaan.## Another release of the day, Janhvi Kapoor-starrer Ulajh followed a similar story with a poorer start at the domestic box office. According to the early estimates, the movie scored in the range of 1-1.25 crores net and with not-so-encouraging WOM, the weekend is heading to finish below 5 crores mark.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, August 2 - The sequel to Ajay Devgn-fronted Son of Sardaar is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated movies with a massive cast on board to entertain the audiences, apart from Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt who return to reprise their roles from the original movie. ## It was recently revealed that Mrunal Thakur would be playing the female lead, replacing Sonakshi Sinha from the first movie in the sequel. Now, the film's full star cast has been revealed and the makers have got a big ensemble cast on board the film. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Son of Sardaar 2 will feature Vijay Raaz, Ravi Kishan, Chunkey Pandey, Neeru Bajwa, Deepak Dobriyal, Kubbra Sait, Vindu Dara Singh, Mukul Dev, Sharat Saxena, Roshni Walia and Ashwini Kalsekar in key roles alongside Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and Mrunal Thakur. ## The report further said that the plot of this comic caper rides on quirky characters and the humour is a result of the inter-character dynamics. It is a family entertainer and the team has got a strong ensemble cast on board to do full justice to it.## Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and produced by Jio Studios with Devgn Films, NR Pachisia and Pravin Talreja, SOS2 is currently in production and the shoot is happening in Scotland where the shoot will continue till August end. Mumbai, August 1 - Disney's Pixar blockbuster Inside Out 2 has cracked the all-time top 10 highest-grossing movies at the worldwide box office, after outgrossing Marvel Studios/Disney's The Avengers through 8th Wednesday. ## The coming-of-age film animated tentpole has topped $1.524 billion (12765 crores) after the 8th Wednesday and has crossed The Avengers's $1.523 billion to become the 10th highest-grossing film ever at the global box office.## Directed by Kelsey Mann in his feature directorial debut, Inside Out 2 has grossed $618.7 million (5180 crores) in North America while the overseas collection is $905.3 million (7585 crores). It is already the highest-grossing animated movie worldwide. ## Mexico is the biggest international market for IO2 with $100.5 million, followed by Brazil where it has become the highest-grossing movie ever with $77.3 million. The UK is the third biggest with $65 million while Korea ($58 million) and France ($55.6 million) are at the 4th and 5th spot.## Inside Out 2 was released on June 12 internationally before debuting in North America on June 14. It scored $295 million in its worldwide opening weekend which is the biggest for an animated movie ever. The sequel topped $1 billion gross in just 19 days, again making it the fastest animated title to reach the milestone.## The movie is projected to finish its lifetime run between $1.60 billion and $1.70 billion. Hyderabad, August 2 - Telugu heartthrob Vijay Deverakonda teamed up with Jersey director Gowtam Tinnanuri for the first time for an action drama film, tentatively called VD 12. It is the biggest blockbuster of the year and is only the Indian movie of all time to top 1000 crores worldwide.## With the box office trend slowing down and the competition increasing, the makers have announced a heavily discounted ticket price offer to the moviegoers to stay in the race for a couple of weeks more. Mumbai, August 1 - The first collaboration between Bollywood star Ajay Devgn and acclaimed director Neeraj Pandey, a romantic thriller Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is finally hitting the big screens on August 2. The movie also features Tabu, Saiee Manjrekar, and Shantanu Maheshwari in key roles. ## Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha was one of the most anticipated movies at the time of its announcement in October 2022 but with just a few hours left for the release, there is hardly any buzz for the movie despite the involvement of the top names in it and multiple delays. ## There have been many films, featuring known stars over the last few years which shockingly scored low openings and as things stand currently, AMKDT is heading for the same fate. The pre-sales of the movie are extremely poor, as expected, in the lines of Akshay Kumar's Selfiee. ## As far as the domestic box office opening of the movie is concerned, things are not looking good with the expected start in the range of 2-3 crores. A lot will depend on word of mouth, but even the positive reception is unlikely to change much as there is very little room for the movie to score due to its subject and tight competition with new as well as strong holdovers.## With AMKDT, there is Janhvi Kapoor-fronted thriller Ulajh is releasing on August 2nd and despite the well-received trailer, the movie has failed to generate any sort of buzz. As for box office prospects of Ulajh, things are looking even worse than the Ajay Devgn-fronted.## Depending on word of mouth and walk-ups, Ulajh is heading to take the opening in the range of 1-2 crores net, which is one of the lowest of the year.
