Mumbai, May 31 - Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer sports romantic drama Mr and Mrs Mahi has taken a good start at the domestic box office, thanks to the Cinema Lovers Day which boosted the footfalls due to lower ticket prices. ## The movie witnessed excellent occupancy throughout the day and scored an estimated 6.75-7.25 crores net collection on its opening day. It has comfortably beaten the opening day collection of Yami Gautam-fronted Article 370, the last Bollywood film to get cinema day benefit to score approximately 6 crores net. ## Mr and Mrs Mahi mainly targeted multiplex audiences and thanks to the discounted ticket prices, the movie brought its target audience to the theatres on its opening day. The initial word of mouth for the movie seems to be positive but the real test of it will be after the weekend. ## The competition also does not look threatening to the movie, however, the new release, Savi takes a decent opening of around 1.50 crores net. The holdover Srikanth, which also stars Rajkummar Rao, also got a cinema day boost and minted approximately 1.25+ crores net on its 22nd day. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, May 31 - Aamir Khan's production venture Laapataa Ladies has shown incredible consistency at the box office on the lower levels since its digital release and has crossed the 20 crores net mark which once looked like a pipe dream. ## Directed by Kiran Rao, Laapataa Ladies was made available on the digital platform after 8 weeks and since then it has minted over 2.50 crores net collection by showing an upward trend. The movie has so far minted approximately 20.58 crores net in 13 weeks. ## At the worldwide box office, the comedy-drama has grossed approximately 27 crores and can be called an average affair. Mumbai, May 30 - The countdown to Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has begun with under 30 days left for the much-anticipated release on June 27. As the anticipation builds, the makers gear up to launch the film trailer. ## According to the latest Telugu media reports, the trailer of Kalki 2898 AD will be released online on June 7, three weeks before the release date. It is the most important asset of the movie which could shoot up the buzz to the next level leading to the release date. ## As reported earlier, Kalki is the costliest Indian movie ever with a budget of approximately 600 crores and is reportedly a three-hour long. Given the complexity of the subject, which mixes mythology with sci-fi elements, the budget and runtime could be justified. ## Kalki 2898 AD is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. It is set in a post-apocalyptic world, in the year 2898 AD. In the movie, Prabhas plays the character of Bhairava who intended to be a modern-day version of the Avatar of Lord Vishnu. He has been tasked to fight a fascist regime which holds control of most of the galaxy.## Kalki 2898 AD boasts a star-studded cast which also includes Amitabh Bachlan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani in prominent roles. Mumbai, May 30 - Rajkummar Rao's biographical drama Srikanth has emerged as a surprise winner of the year as the movie has topped 50 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office amid low expectations. ## Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, Srikanth grossed approximately 49.50 crores worldwide, including 47 crores domestically and an estimated 2.50 crores overseas in the first 20 days. It has topped the 50 crores gross mark on its third Thursday (21st day). ## Srikanth is only the second film of Rajkummar Rao to reach the mini milestone of 50 crores worldwide after Stree in a leading role. The actor played a supporting role in Bareilly Ki Barfi which grossed approximately 58.60 crores worldwide. ## Produced by T-Series and Chalk and Cheese Films, Srikanth has benefitted from the open run due to the lack of notable releases over the last few weeks. It is known to everyone that SRK would be teaming up with director Sujoy Ghosh for an action thriller film that marks Suhana Khan's big screen debut. ## A few months ago, it was reported that SRK's film with Ghosh was titled King, however, the makers haven't made an official announcement regarding the same. Now, in viral images on social media, the Pathaan star unintentionally revealed the official title of the movie. ## SRK's fan club shared screenshots of a viral video in which the script of King can be seen on a table.
