Mumbai, May 24 - Actor R. Madhavan is set to reunite with Bollywood star Ajay Devgn in the sequel to romantic-comedy De De Pyaar De. Directed by Anshul Sharma, DDPD 2 has Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead, reprising her role from the original movie along with Ajay Devgn. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, R. Madhavan has come on board to play a key role which was supposed to be played by Anil Kapoor. Madhavan and Ajay Devgn previously shared screen space in the horror thriller Shaitaan which was released earlier this year and was a big box office success. ## "Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan had a horrific face-off in Shaitaan, and now, come 2025, the duo will again lock horns in De De Pyaar De 2. However, this time around, their on-screen chemistry will have a complete makeover, as the face-off will have a lot of comic undertones", says the report.## The sequel will chronicle comic events in the family of Rakul Preet Singh arising out of the relationship between Ashish (Ajay Devgn) and Ayesha (Rakul). Mumbai, May 24 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is gearing up to start shooting for director AR Murugadoss' action drama Sikandar, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna in June this year. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the movie will be released on Eid 2025. ## According to a report by Mid-Day, Sikandar will go on floors on June 20 with a power-packed schedule in Mumbai. The pre-production was reportedly begun a few days ago and the makers are on track to start rolling it in June this year. ## Murugadoss is presently directing actor Sivakarthikeyan's Sk 23. It is said that the filmmaker wants to complete as much of SK23 as possible before Sikandar goes on floors and to avoid any delays, Murugadoss has assembled a dedicated team to expedite the completion of SK23. ## Salman Khan has already begun his preparations for the movie and it is said that the actor insists on performing the action sequences himself. Kochi, May 24 - Megastar Mammootty's action comedy Turbo set the box office on fire and scored the second biggest opening of 2024 for a Malayalam film after Prithviraj Sukumaran's blockbuster Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life.## Turbo has had one of the biggest releases for a Malayalam title. On its opening day, the movie minted approximately 7.20 crores gross collection at the Indian box office, including 6.15 crores gross in Kerala state alone which is the biggest opening for Mammootty. Aadujeevitham took the opening of 8.75 crores gross in India.## In Kerala, Turbo had the biggest start of the year and third biggest overall after Odiyan (6.75 crores) and Marakkar (6.25 crores). Earlier, superstar Mohanlal's Malaikottai Vaaliban was the biggest opener of 2024 with 5.80 crores gross collection in the state. ## The rest of the domestic collection (outside Kerala) of Turbo is approximately 1.05 crore, including an estimated 65 lakh in Karnataka. Chennai, May 23 - Thalapathy Vijay's science fiction action drama The Greatest of All Time post-theatrical digital rights reportedly sold to Netflix for a massive sum of 110 crores, according to a report by Only Kollywood. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT is easily one of the most anticipated Tamil films of the year and it is expected to set the box office on fire. Thalapathy Vijay's films have also attracted massive viewership on digital platforms and GOAT is expected to repeat the same despite non-direct OTT release. ## Netflix has been the home of many South Indian films after their theatrical releases and has paid huge prices for the same. Mumbai, May 23 - Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor-fronted epic Ramayana, co-starring Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Sunny Deol, is the biggest Indian film in the making. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the movie hasn't been officially announced yet but has been the talk of the town for various reasons. ## Recently, social media was buzzing with rumours that the production of Ramayana has been stalled due to a legal copyright infringement issue. This is not the first time that the project has been hit by negativity but this has been happening more frequently for the last few weeks. ## While it is true that the movie is having legal issues, the rumours of halting the production are baseless as according to Bollywood Hungama, one of the actors from the movie said that the shooting was not halted for even a day and the team is shooting as he spoke.## Meanwhile, recently, it was reported that Ramayana would now be a two-part project with simultaneous shooting for more than 350 days till December 2025. Kochi, May 22 - In the scorching heat across the country, the Malayalam film industry is breathing fire at the box office and creating new records with each passing day and the momentum is set to continue with megastar Mammootty's action comedy Turbo. ## Directed by Vysakh, Turbo, an outright mass entertainer, is scheduled to hit the big screen on May 23 and it will be looking to marry with the box office. Mammootty already scored success this year in the form of the horror thriller, Bramayugam, and Turbo is anticipated to be even bigger.## Turbo is witnessing excellent pre-sales and is already one of the highest for a Malayalam title since the COVID-19 pandemic. With few hours left for the release, the advance sales of Turbo are approaching 3 crore gross, a target which only two Malayalam films have breached in 2024 in the form of Malaikottai Vaaliban and Aadujeevitham. ## The pre-sales trend of Turbo suggests the opening of 6+ crore gross which will make it one of the biggest starts of the year. Mumbai, May 22 - Aamir Khan's production venture Laapataa Ladies has become the second most-watched Indian movie of 2024 on Netflix and is likely to become the most-watched by the next week by crossing Hrithik Roshan's Fighter which is currently the most-watched title. ## Directed by Kiran Rao, Laapataa Ladies scored 2.6 million views during the week of May 13 - May 19 on Netflix and pushed its total viewership to 13.8 million in 24 days. It was the 5th most-watched non-English film worldwide during the same week. ## The comedy-drama crossed the viewership of Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal which scored 13.6 million views on Netflix. It is expected to remain in the top 10 in the next week as well and if this happens, it will be the most-watched Indian title of 2024 on the streamer. ## Ajay Devgn-fronted Shaitaan will also be looking to become the most-watched Indian film by next week. The movie garnered 3.2 million views during the week of May 13 - May 19 and was the 4th most watched non-English title worldwide on Netflix. ## The total viewership of Shaitaan, directed by Vikas Bahl, has reached 13 million views in 17 days. Los Angeles, May 22 - Marvel Studios set to make a roaring comeback with Ryan Raynolds and Hugh Jackman's highly-anticipated Deadpool and Wolverine as pre-sales of the movie off to a flying start at the domestic (North America) box office. ## According to the ticketing portal Fandango, Deadpool & Wolverine has broken the record for day-one ticket sales for a 2024 movie. It also witnessed the best first-day pre-seller from the Deadpool franchise. While the official data are not revealed, The Hollywood Reporter reports that "Some 200,000 movie fans have bought their AMC tickets already which is around $8 million - $9 million.## Shawn Lavy's directorial film has outperformed all other 2024 blockbusters thus far, including the likes of Dune: Part Two, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, The Fall Guy, and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
