Hyderabad, April 30 - Pan India superstar Prabhas and director Prasanth Neel collaborated for the first time for the 2-part action drama Salaar. The first part of the film Salaar: Ceasefire, which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, was released in December 2023 and was one of the highest-grossing Indian films of the year with worldwide gross collection of over 600 crores. ## Ever since the last of Salaar: Ceasefire, there have been a lot of enquiries about the shoot of the second part, titled Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam, and now, there is a positive development on the same. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Salaar 2 is set to go on floors by the end of May with a 10-day schedule at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. It is said that the script of the sequel has been enhanced based on the feedback for the first part and the makers are satisfied with the output. Prabhas and Prithviraj will join the first schedule of Salaar 2 which will focus on their rivalry. ## Produced by Hombale Films, a major part of Salaar 2 will be shot this year, with residual portions in the first quarter of 2025. Mumbai, April 30 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn teamed with director Neeraj Pandey for the first time for a romantic thriller Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. Also starring Tabu, Jimmy Shergill and Saiee Majrekar, the movie was supposed to be released in April but has been postponed. ## Produced by NH Studioz, Friday Filmworks, Panorama Studios, and Reliance Entertainment, AMKDT will now be hitting worldwide theatres on July 5, 2024. The makers will soon release the first look teaser, followed by the trailer. ## The film promises to be a unique musical love story with an epic romantic drama spanning across 20 years. It is set between 2002 and 2023. Mumbai, April 30 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar reunited with filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala for the 5th instalment of the blockbuster Housefull franchise. Directed by Dostana fame Tarun Manshukhani, the movie was supposed to go on floors in early 2024 but was delayed due to some reasons. ## According to the latest report by Pinkvilla, Housefull 5 is set to start rolling in the UK in August 2024. It is said that a major part of the film will be shot inside a lavish cruise over a 45-day first schedule. Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh will be joined by a big ensemble and the casting is currently underway. ## "This is the most exciting part of the film, as the franchise leaps by introducing the audience to a completely new world in the comic space. The entire confusion of this comic caper unfolds on a cruise and producer Sajid Nadiadwala has blocked a lavish cruise for this mad-cap entertainer. Mumbai, April 30 - Akshay Kumar-fronted Housefull is one of the most successful film franchises in India. It holds the record of being the highest-grossing comedy film franchise in the country with around 790 crores at the worldwide box office from 4 films released so far. Housefull 5 is currently in development for 2025 release. ## The first Housefull film was released in 2010, and today on April 30, it has completed 14 years. The movie grossed over 100 crores at the worldwide box office and was the second highest-grossing Indian comedy film at that time, behind Welcome (2017) which was also headlined by Akshay Kumar. ## Directed by Sajid Khan, Housefull is based on the Tamil romantic comedy Kadhala Kadhala (1988) starring Kamal Haasan. Mumbai, April 29 - The first trailer of Disney's highly-awaited Mufasa - The Lion King, a prequel to the studio's billion-dollar grosser The Lion King (2019), is released on April 29. ## Directed by Barry Jenkins, the photorealistic animated film will explore the origin story of the titular lion, Mufasa with his brother Taka aka Scar, who went on to become the main antagonist in The Lion King.## Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr. have voiced the younger versions of Mufasa and Scar, respectively. Earlier, James Earl Jones voiced Mufasa in both the 1994's original film and the 2019's remake. Jeremy Irons voiced Scar in 1994 before Chiwetel Ejiofor replaced him in 2019. ## ## The Lion King, which was released in July 2019, is Disney's one of the highest-grossing films with $1.66 billion at the worldwide box office. The original Lion King grossed $968 million globally, including the multiple re-runs.## Mufasa: The Lion King will debut in worldwide theatres on December 20. Hyderabad, April 29 - Recently, it was reported that Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh would be headlining Hanuman director Prasanth Varma's next film which will be a part of the director's Cinematic Universe. Mythri Movie Makers came on board to produce the film. ## According to the latest report by Pinkvilla, the formal Pooja was done recently on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti in Hyderabad. The report revealed that the movie in question has been titled Rakshas and is said to be a period film set in the Pre-Independence Era with a mythological backdrop. ## Ranveer Singh's character will reportedly have shades of negative force in the film. It is said to be Prasanth Varma's immediate next with a shoot planned later this year. The filmmaker also has Jai Hanuman which will feature a massive ensemble cast. ## Ranveer Singh, meanwhile, will also headline URI director Aditya Dhar's next which is currently in the pre-production stage. Chennai, April 29 - Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli has become the highest-grossing re-release film at the Indian box office in the 21st century. The sports action drama film, which was re-released on April 20, has grossed approximately 20 crores in India in 9 days. ## The 20 crores domestic gross collection of Ghilli makes it the biggest re-release grosser, beating James Cameron's Avatar 3D which minted 18 crores back in 2012. Iconic blockbuster Sholay 3D (2013) is the third biggest grosser with 13 crores. ## As reported earlier, Ghilli will also become the third highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 at the domestic box office. It is currently at number 4, behind Lal Salaam which minted around 21 crores gross earlier this year. ## At the worldwide box office, the 20-year-old film has grossed over 26 crores and will be topping the 30 crores mark in the next few days. Hyderabad, April 29 - Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya reunited with director Chandoo Mondeti for a rustic love story action thriller Thandel which is scheduled to release theatrically later this year. The movie has Sai Pallavi as the female lead, reuniting with Chaitanya after Love Story (2021). ## Thandel is touted to be the best film of Naga Chaitanya and hence, not only in trade, the movie is in hot demand in digital and satellite. Recently, it was announced that Netflix acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the movie and now, according to the latest Telugu media reports, the streamer has paid a whopping 40 crores for the same. ## The 40 crores deal with Netflix is the highest-ever digital deal for a Naga Chaitanya film which shows the anticipation for the movie among the audiences. It is not yet clear how long the theatrical window will be but Netflix usually pay higher prices for a short window (4 weeks). ## Thandel is produced by GA2 Pictures in association with Geetha Arts. Devi Sri Prasad scores the music for the movie which is said to be the biggest budgeted one for Chaitanya. Mumbai, April 29 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan will reportedly be playing a cameo role in his nephew, Imran Khan's comeback movie, tentatively titled Happy Patel. The movie, directed by comedian turned-director Vir Das, will mark Imran Khan's comeback after 9 years. ## According to a report by Peepingmoon.com, Aamir will make a brief cameo appearance in this movie, sharing the screen with his nephew for the first time. The superstar will be playing the role of Don in the film that is set in Goa. ## The shoot of the film has already begun and Aamir Khan will reportedly complete his portion today (April 29). Happy Patel is said to be a satirical spy comedy in which Imran will be playing a secret agent, alongside Vir Das, who is also directing, writing, and co-producing it. ## Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, the comic thriller movie also stars Mithila Palkar, Sharib Hashmi, and Mona Singh in pivotal roles. Chennai, April 29 - Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli is turning the clock back with an impressive performance at the box office since its re-release on April 20. The sports action drama has easily been the number-one Tamil film since last week at the domestic and worldwide box office. ## Ghilli scored 14.50+ crores gross collection in its first week (6 days) in India, and with not much competition, it was again one of the top-performing films in the second weekend with a gross collection of around 5.50 crores.## The total collection of Ghilli is around 20 crores gross in 9 days in India. It is currently the 4th highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 at the domestic box office, behind Ayalaan, Captain Miller, and Lal Salaam. Pictures has its third $500 million grosser in just 5 months at the worldwide box office as Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire joins Dune Part 2 and Wonka in this elite club. ## The Adam Wingard's directorial MonsterVerse film, as of Sunday (April 28), grossed $519.3 million (4330 crores) at the worldwide box office, including $337.7 million (2815 crores) internationally and $181.7 million (1515) domestically (North America).## China has been the biggest overseas market for Godzilla x Kong with $125.90 million (1050 crores). India too has been in the top 5 box office market for the film with a gross collection of around 122 crores ($14.60 million), making it the highest-grossing film in the franchise in India.## Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Pictures' Dune 2 hit $700 million globally. It has grossed $704.3 million (5875 crores) worldwide with overseas markets contributing $424.5 million (3540 crores) to the gross, and $279.7 million (2335 crores) coming from domestic box office. Mumbai, April 28 - The hugely-awaited courtroom drama film Jolly LLB 3 shoot has commenced today April 28 in Rajasthan. The new image from the set has confirmed the development of this Subhash Kapoor's directorial venture. ## It is said that Arshad Warsi will join the month-long first schedule but there is no clarity on when his co-star Akshay will start the filming. Saurabh Shukla, who has been a part of this courtroom comedy, will be seen playing the judge yet again.## Jolly LLB 3 is the third instalment of the superhit franchise.
