Los Angeles, February 24 - Warner Bros. Pictures is going back to Middle-Earth to make multiple more Lord of the Rings films. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. has brokered a multiyear deal with rights holders Embracer Group AB which allows the studio to develop more films based on J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings books and The Hobbit. ## Embracer Group, the Swedish gaming company, acquired the rights to produce LOTR films, games, merchandise, theme park attractions, and live productions when it purchased rights holder Middle-earth Enterprises last year from The Saul Zaentz Company. ## LOTR is one of the most successful film franchises in Hollywood. There have been a total of 3 films in the LOTR franchise, directed by Peter Jackson, with a combined gross collection of $2.9 billion. Jackson's follow-up trilogy based on Tolkien's "The Hobbit" which acts as a prequel to his The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, matched those grosses. ## Warner Bros. is yet to attach filmmakers to helm the upcoming LOTR films. Meanwhile, LOTR is not the only franchise that Warner Bros. is reviving. CEO David Zaslav previously said that he would like to make a deal with author J.K. Rowling for more Harry Potter films and if reports are to be believed, the original trio of Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, and Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley will be returning to headline it. ## Stay tuned...

Los Angeles, November 4 - Warner Bros. Discovery under the new CEO David Zaslav seems to be in action mode and is looking to find ways to revive its most loved film franchises, and one of them is Harry Potter film series. ## David Zaslav said during an investor's call Thursday that the company is going to focus more on the franchise and he is keen to exploit the possibility of reviving the "Harry Potter" franchise if something can be worked out with author J.K. Rowling along with "Superman" movie which is already in development with Henry Cavill returning to play this iconic DC role. ## "We haven't had a Superman movie in 13 years. We haven't done a Harry Potter in 15 years. The DC movies and the Harry Potter movies provided a lot of the profits for Warner Bros. ... over the past 25 years", Zaslav said according to The Hollywood Reporter.## He went on to note Warner Bros. still has the theatrical rights to "Lord of the Rings", and went back around to the idea of more Harry Potter, noting he'd like to see more. "If we can do something with J.K. on Harry Potter going forward", he added.## Warner Bros. has released 8 Harry Potter films from 2001-2011 and those movies grossed over $7.7 billion at the global box office, making it one of the highest-grossing film franchises. The studio partnered with Rowling on the "Fantastic Beasts" franchise and has released three films so far out of its planned 5-films in the franchise.## There is a lot of work yet to be done to revive the "Harry Potter" series but this is surely great news for the fans who have been loyal to the franchise. Los Angeles, August 28 - Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling was surprisingly missing on the occasion of Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts earlier this year at HBO Max. Rowling has finally revealed why she missed the special reunion, and it was simply because it was not something she wanted to do. ## "I was asked to be on that and I decided I didn't want to do it", she told host Graham Norton during an appearance on his Virgin Radio UK show and clarifying she was not excluded from the reunion (according to Deadline). ## She added, "I thought it was about the films more than the book, quite rightly, that was what the anniversary was about. No one said don't [do it]... I was asked to do it and I decided not to".## The "Harry Potter" HBO Max special premiered on January 1, 2022, and it featured all of the key members that made the Harry Potter movies a massive success over the years. ## It was speculated that Rowling skipped the HBO Max special over her rumored spat with Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson. Mumbai, Jan 1 (IANS) Actress Emma Watson, who played the part of Hermione Granger in the 'Harry Potter' films, once considered leaving the franchise, reports Entertainment Weekly. ## Emma with her co-stars from the franchise appeared on 'Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts' special, where she opened up about going through a stressful time. ## Emma said, "I did find a diary entry that was kind of like. I could see that at times I was lonely." Later in the special, she mentions, "The fame thing had finally hit home in a big way." ## Director David Yates said that when he came on to direct the remaining Harry Potter films starting with 2007's 'Order of the Phoenix', producer David Heyman and Warner Bros told him, "Emma is not sure she wants to come back to do another Potter." ## Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the film franchise said, "People definitely forget what she took on and how gracefully she did it. Dan (Radcliffe) and Rupert (Grint), had each other. I had my cronies, whereas Emma was not only younger, she was by herself." ## However, nobody had to convince her to stick with the franchise till the end as Emma said, "The fans genuinely wanted me to succeed and all genuinely have each other's backs." ##

Los Angeles, June 17, 2021: After months of speculations, Disney Plus has greenlit an eight-episode prequel series of Disney's 2017 American musical romantic fantasy feature film, Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson as the titular beauty and Dan Stevens as the beast. ## Neither of Emma Watson and Dan Stevens in the prequel series, however, according to reports, both can make guest appearances. Josh Gad and Luke Evans will reprise their roles from the feature film while the limited series will also star Briana Middleton, who will portray LeFou's (Gad) step-sister, Tilly. ## The story of the prequel is set years before the Beast and Belle's romance and follows Gaston (Evans) and LeFou as they set off with Tilly, after a surprising revelation from Tilly's past comes to light, sending the unlikely trio on a journey filled with romance, comedy, and adventure. ## While the mysteries of the past are uncovered and the dangers of the present grow, old friends and new enemies reveal that this familiar kingdom harbors many secrets, according to The Hollywood Reporter.## Josh Gad will write and executive produce the series alongside Once Upon a Time in Hollywood creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has recognized Indian actor Sonu Sood's selfless work of helping thousands of migrant workers and students stranded in the different parts of the country and world during the lockdown period caused by the covid-19 pandemic. ## The actor has been conferred with the prestigious SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) which was presented at a virtual ceremony on Monday (September 28, 2020) evening. ## After receiving the honor, Sonu Sood has joined the likes of Priyanka Chopra, Angelina Jolie, David Beckham, Liam Neeson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Emma Watson, Cate Blanchett, Antonio Banderas, and Nicole Kidman who were similarly honored by different UN bodies.## Expressing his gratitude to the UN body for the award, Sonu Sood said, "This is a rare honor. UN recognition is very special. I have done whatever little I could do, in my own humble way, for my fellow countrymen without any expectations".## "However, to be recognized and awarded feels good. London, April 1 (IANS) Actress Emma Watson has confessed that she is fascinated with kink culture.## In an interview with Teen Vogue, the actress, 29, discussed her interests and explained why she coined the phrase 'self-partnered', reports dailymail.co.uk.## "I've also kind of become slightly fascinated by kink culture because they are the best communicators ever, they know all about consent," Watson said.## The "Harry Potter" star also discussed the debate -- which she sparked with the term "self-partnered" while talking about the pressures, about settling down and starting a family, by the age of 30.## Last year, the actress hit the headlines when she announced she is not single but "self-partnered".## Reflecting upon the term, Watson said: "There was no word for this kind of subliminal messaging and anxiety and pressure that I felt building up but couldn't really name, so I used the word self-partnered."## "For me, it wasn't so much about coining a word; it was more that I needed to create a definition for something that I didn't feel there was the language for, and it was interesting because it really riled some people up," she added.## The actress went on to say it was "less for me about the word but more about what it meant", and felt that the term allowed her to express herself.## She might insist that she is happy being 'self-partnered', but the actress was spotted kissing a mystery man outside a London bakery two weeks before her British Vogue interview last year.## The "Beauty and The Beast" star was last romantically linked to Dominic Piazza. She also had a brief fling with former Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe.
