Mumbai, June 20 - After the box office rampage with Gadar 2 last year, Bollywood star Sunny Deol has been on the signing spree with back-to-back out-and-out mass entertainers. Continuing the streak, Sunny Deol has now teamed up with Telugu director Gopichand Malineni for a massive action entertainer, tentatively called SDGM. ## Billed as the biggest action film in the country, SDGM (Sunny Deol, Gopichand Malineni) will jointly be produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory. Thaman S is on board to compose the music for the film which will go on floors on June 22, 2024. ## It is the first time Sunny Deol has collaborated with any of the aforementioned names. The collaboration has been in the news for quite some time now and it has finally been made official. Mumbai, June 19 - The Bombay High Court has allowed the release of Annu Kapoor's Hamare Baarah after the makers agreed to delete some objectionable scenes. The movie, which was supposed to be released on June 7, will now hit screens on June 21. ## According to Bar and Bench, a bench of Justices BP Colabawalla and Firdosh Pooniwalla watched the film and suggested changes which both the moviemakers and the petitioners agreed to. ## The court, after a thorough review, also said that the movie did not contain any objectionable content against the Quran or the Muslim community, instead, the court found the movie to be aimed at the "upliftment of women", according to NDTV report. ## "The movie is in fact for the upliftment of women. The movie has a Maulana misinterpreting the Quran and in fact, one Muslim man objects to the same in the scene. So this shows that people should apply their mind and not blindly follow such Maulanas", the high court said. ## Meanwhile, the court imposed a fine of Rs. 5 lakh on the makers of the movie for releasing the trailer before getting CBFC certification. The fine is to be donated to a charity of the petitioners' choice. "Violation was there vis-a-vis the trailer. So you will have to pay something towards a charity of the petitioner's choice. The cost will have to be paid. This litigation has got the film so much unpaid publicity", the court added.## Hamare Baarah is directed by Kamal Chandra and it also stars Rahul Bagga, Manoj Joshi, and Ashwini Kalsekar, among others. In the movie, a woman takes her father to court to allow her mother, who is in the midst of a risky pregnancy, the right to terminate the pregnancy to save her life. ## Stay tuned...

Hyderabad, June 19 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD has completed censorship formalities with just over a week left for the release. The highly-anticipated sci-fi epic is directed by Nag Ashwin and it also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and Kamal Haasan, among others. ## The censor screening of Kalki 2898 AD took place on June 18 and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed the movie with a 'U/A' certificate and an approved runtime of 3 hours. ## The movie's 3D version was said to be shown in the CBFC screening and the reports say that the censor officials were left in awe by the film's groundbreaking visuals and Nag Ashwin's visionary direction. It is also revealed that there could be a second part of Kalki as the Cliffhanger at the end of the film reportedly came out very well. ## As reported earlier, Kalki 2898 AD is the costliest Indian movie ever for a budget of around 600 crores and it is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. Mumbai, June 19 - Director Rajesh A Krishnan's Crew has become the most-watched Indian film of 2024 on Netflix, surpassing the total reported viewership of Aamir Khan's production venture, Laapataa Ladies in just 24 days. ## The heist comedy, starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon, Crew added 1.2 million views from June 10 - June 16, taking its total views to 17.9 million in 24 days. Laapataa Ladies had scored 17.1 million views during its stay in the top 10 on Netflix and is now the second most-watched Indian title of the year. ## Crew premiered on Netflix on May 24 after completing 8 weeks of the theatrical run with over 150 crores in gross collection at the worldwide box office. On its Netflix premiere, the movie scored 5.4 million views in the opening weekend, followed by 8.9 million views in the first full week, and 2.4 million in the next week. ## Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, a box office disaster, scored 8 million views in the first 10 days on Netflix. Mumbai, June 18 - Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan and director Kabir Khan are discussing a possible collaboration. Hrithik is currently shooting for YRF's Biggie War 2 with director Ayan Mukerji and the shoot for the same is nearing completion. ## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, Hrithik has already started looking for his next film and is in talks with Kabir Khan for the same. "Hrithik and Kabir are discussing several ideas and have met multiple times over the past few months. Talks are at the primary stage right now, but they're developing projects together and are hopeful that they come to fruition", says the report. ## It is said that one of the potential films the duo discussing is a post-apocalyptic thriller based on a Hollywood movie, for which Hrithik has already secured the adaptation rights. However, there is no confirmed development on the same project revealed yet. ## Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan also has Krrish 4 which was announced a long time back and things are finally moving fast. Shamshera fame Karan Malhotra is said to be on board to direct and he has reportedly started preparing for it. Mumbai, June 18 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar teamed up with Tamil director Sudha Kongara for the drama film Sarfira, which is the remake of Kongara's Soorarai Pottru starring Suriya who plays a cameo in the remake. ## Produced by Aruna Bhatia of Cape of Good Films, Suriya and Jyotika’s 2D Entertainment, and Vikram Malhotra-led Abundantia Entertainment, Sarfira is scheduled to release on July 12 and the makers are set to launch the much-awaited trailer today (June 18). The trailer was censored on June 17 with a 'U' certificate and the approved runtime of 2 minutes and 34 seconds.## On Tuesday (June 18), Akshay Kumar took to social media to announce the trailer date with a new poster which features him, riding a bike with an aeroplane taking off in the background. Mumbai, June 17 - Ayushmann Khurrana and Kareena Kapoor are teaming up for the first time for director Meghna Gulzar's next film which is said to be based on the horrifying 2019 Hyderabad Rape Case, according to the report by Pinkvilla. ## "It's a hard-hitting film that warrants the presence of actors with the calibre of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana. The duo read the script and were shocked by the details of the case. After Talvar, this is another film that could shock the nation and stir a conversation about the case", says the report.## The movie has reportedly been titled Daayra and it will be produced by Junglee Pictures which also produced Ayushmann Khurrana's Doctor G. The team is looking to take Daayra on floors by the end of this year and will release in theatres worldwide in 2025. ## The Hyderabad rape case shocked the nation when a 26-year-old veterinary doctor was gang-raped and murdered in November 2019. Hyderabad, June 17 - The Independence Day 2024 weekend was buzzing with a high-profile box office clash between India's two of the most anticipated films, Pushpa 2 - The Rule and Singham Again, however, as things stand today, both the movies have been postponed, leaving the weekend for other movies to cash on. ## While Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn have locked the Diwali release for Singham 3, Allu Arjun-fronted Pushpa 2 makers finalized the December 6, 2024, release date worldwide. The team was also looking to lock December 20 but went earlier to avoid a clash with Aamir Khan-fronted Sitaare Zameen Par which is scheduled to release along with Hollywood biggie Mufasa: The Lion King on Dec. 20. ## Interestingly, Pushpa - The Rise was also released on December (17) 2021 and now, the sequel is also to be released in the same month.## Pushpa 2 is directed by Sukumar who also produced it under his banner Sukumar Writings with Mythri Movie Makers. Mumbai, June 17 - Over the last many months, the Telugu film industry has been buzzing with the potential collaboration between superstar Allu Arjun and blockbuster director Atlee. The project was almost finalized and was supposed to go on floors by the end of this year, but now, there is a disappointing update on the same. ## According to the report by Telugu 360, Allu Arjun's film with Atlee has been shelved after the director's huge remuneration demand which shocked the producers. However, another report claimed that the project fell through simply because it did not align with the actor and director's preferences. ## After Allu Arjun dropped the movie, Atlee is believed to have approached Bollywood superstar Salman Khan to headline and Telugu 360 reported that the superstar has given his nod and the movie will be announced soon. Sun Pictures will reportedly be producing the film which is expected to go on floors in the first quarter of 2025. ## Salman Khan, meanwhile, has started shooting for director AR Murugadoss' action drama Sikandar which has Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Chennai, June 17 - The Tamil film industry has returned to winning ways with a fourth success within two months at the domestic box office. After no-hit for the first four months of the year, the industry scored first hit in horror-comedy Aranmanai 4, followed by Garudan. Now, Vijay Setupathi's Maharaja joins the list. ## Directed by Nithilan Saminathan, Maharaja was released on June 14 and scored an excellent first weekend at the domestic box office with approximately 25.15 crores gross mark, which is the second biggest opening weekend for a Tamil movie of 2024, behind Dhanush's Captain Miller. ## Maharaja opened to an estimated 5.40 crores gross collection, including 1.20 crores in Telugu. The action thriller witnessed a big jump of over 60% on Saturday to score an estimated 9 crores gross, and there was a further jump of around 20% on Sunday for around 10.75 crores gross. ## The Tamil version of Maharaja has minted an estimated 19 crores gross while the Telugu version has grossed approximately 6 crores gross. The movie surpassed expectations after opening to excellent reviews and audience word of mouth. ## Maharaja is expected to have another solid day today due to the Bakrid holiday. The momentum is currently with the film which should help to continue doing solid business in the coming days despite the holdover movie, Garudan which is also doing good business domestically. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, June 16 - Kartik Aaryan's Chandu Champion scores another much-needed growth on its first Sunday to take the opening weekend past 20 crores net mark which can be seen as some sort of recovery after the slow start, however, the overall collection still below expectations. ## After scoring a jump close to 50% on Saturday, the biographical sports drama witnesses another around 40% jump on Sunday for an estimated 9.75-10.25 crores net, pushing opening weekend to around 21.75 crores. There is a holiday tomorrow due to Bakrid so a hold is expected. ## The positive word of mouth has helped Chandu Champion to recover its lost ground to some extent, however, the movie still needs to perform very well beyond the weekend. The good thing is that the movie has momentum after back-to-back good jumps so it can manage good hold throughout the week. ## The next big release is Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD on June 27, so Chandu Champion has one more week to make the most of it, however, there is a holdover movie, Munjya is giving tough competition to it with solid trending at the box office. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, June 16 - Hollywood almost sealed its first $1 billion grosser of the year after Disney/Pixar's animated coming-of-age film Inside Out 2 pulled off almost $300 million in its global opening weekend, smashing industry's projection by a long margin. ## Directed by Kelsey Mann, Inside Out 2 scored a mighty $294.2 million (2455 crores) opening weekend at the worldwide box office, pulling off the biggest opening of 2024 beating Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire ($195 million). The final collection of the movie may vary when actuals come tomorrow.## At the domestic (North America), the film grossed a huge $154.2 million (1290 crores), the second-biggest 3-day opening weekend of all-time for an animated movie, behind only Incredibles 2 ($183 million), and the biggest for Hollywood since Margot Robbie's Barbie ($162 million) last year.## Overseas, Inside Out 2 opened in 38 markets this weekend and scored a massive $140 million (1165 crores). For Disney, the global opening of $294+ million is the biggest since Avatar: The Way of Water ($441 million) in 2022. Mexico was the biggest market for the movie outside North America with $30 million, followed by Korea with $15 million and the UK with $14 million. In India, the movie minted approximately 9 crores ($1.07 million). ## The sequel to Inside Out (2015) did unthinkable to beat the projection as the box office hadn't been at its best this year for Hollywood. Pixar too was feeling the heat with back-to-back low scores since the Covid-19 pandemic but Inside Out 2 did what other movies couldn't to bring the studio back to its old glory.## Stay tuned...
