Mumbai, June 6 - Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan's biographical sports drama Chandu Champion will have a special screening for the Army in Delhi today. The screening will be held for high-ranking army officers and dignitaries will also felicitate Murlikant Petkar, on whom the film is made. ## The screening, spearheaded by producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Kabir Khan, will witness the presence of distinguished Army dignitaries, including the Chief of India, who will join in felicitating and celebrating the achievements of Murlikant Petkar.## Chandu Champion is a prestigious project for Kartik Aaryan who plays the role of India's first Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar, who faced one adversary after another with an undying spirit. Mumbai, June 6 - A sequel to Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani's family comedy-drama JugJugg Jeeyo is reportedly in the early development at Dharma Productions with Raj Mehta is expected to return as the director. ## According to a report by Peepingmoon.com, after teasing a sequel for a long time, Karan Johar and Raj Mehta are officially working on JugJugg Jeeyo, however, the report suggests the makers may change the title and it is more likely to be a spiritual sequel. ## It is said that Raj Mehta has begun writing the sequel with his team of writers and is looking to take it in on floors by the end of this year or early 2025. No cast has been attached to the sequel yet, but Varun is expected to return to headline it. ## Released in June 2022, Jug Jug Jeeyo starred Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor as two couples of different generations on the verge of divorce. It was a box office success with the worldwide collection of around 140 crores gross. ## Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan is currently awaiting the release of the action thriller, Baby John and at the same time, filming for Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari under Dharma Productions. Mumbai, June 6 - The shooting of Ajay Devgn-fronted Raid 2 has reportedly been completed and it has now entered the post-production stage. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the movie also stars Vaani Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh in prominent roles and is gearing up for release soon. ## Raid 2 is the sequel to 2018's hit crime thriller Raid which was based on the real-life income-tax raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department on Sardar Inder Singh in the 1980s. Ajay Devgn played the role of IRS officer Amay Patnaik and has reprised in the sequel. ## The sequel is also reportedly based on real-life events of a businessman fooling the Income Tax Department for Rs. 100 crore. Kochi, June 5 - Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph's comedy-drama Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil becomes the 10th highest-grossing Malayalam film of all-time at the worldwide box office.## Directed by Vipin Das, Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil has grossed approximately 85 crores in 21 days. In India, the movie has minted approximately 51.75 crores while the overseas collection is an estimated 33.25 crores so far, to become the 10th biggest Malayalam grosser ever. ## The movie has crossed RDX (82.75 crores) and will next beat Neru (85.60 crores) in the next couple of days and will be looking to top Bheeshma Parvam (88.20 crores) in the coming days to become the 8th biggest Mollywood title at the worldwide box office. ## In 2024, Malayalam cinema has been on the rise and Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil is one of the reasons for it. It is Mollywood's 5th biggest grosser of the year, behind Manjummel Boys, Aadujeevitham, Aavesham, and Premalu. Mumbai, June 5 - Director Rajesh A Krishnan's heist comedy Crew starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon is turning out to be a big success on Netflix after emerging as one of the biggest box office successes of the year. ## Crew premiered on Netflix on May 24 after completing 8 weeks of the theatrical run with over 150 crores in gross collection at the worldwide box office. On its Netflix premiere, the movie scored 5.4 million views in the opening weekend, taking one of the best starts of the year for an Indian title. ## The movie's viewership shot up in the second week (May 27 - June 2) as it scored 8.9 million views. In 10 days so far, Crew has generated 14.3 million views and become the third most-watched Indian movie of the year on Netflix. By next week, it is expected to become the most-watched title by topping Laapataa Ladies.## Crew was the second most-watched non-English film worldwide on Netflix during the week of May 27 - June 2. It has been trending in the top 10 in 40 countries, including number 1 in most of the Asian countries. ## Meanwhile, Aamir Khan's production venture Laapataa Ladies added another 1.4 million views in its 6th week, pushing its total viewership to 17.1 million. Mumbai, June 4 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar announced his maiden Marathi movie back in 2022 when he was confirmed to play a cameo appearance in the historical drama Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat. The actor was assigned to play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.## Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, Veer Daudle Saat was announced to release on Diwali 2023 but it was reported in September last year that the movie was postponed and since then, there have been no concrete updates about the same. ## Now, according to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the film's shoot has been halted due to budget issues. It is said that the producer Vaseem Qureshi is facing budget problems. Mumbai, June 3 - Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's Mr and Mrs Mahi passes the Monday test with a decent hold with a drop of around 60% from Sunday collection of 5.50 crores net approx.## According to the early estimates, the sports romantic drama scored around 2-2.25 crores net collection on its first Monday/fourth day. The drop from the opening day is around 65% but the first day collection was boosted by cinema lovers day. In real value, the drop from Friday is around 40% which is decent hold. ## The positive word of mouth and the lack of major competition helped the movie to hold well and it now needs this momentum to continue throughout the week. The total collection of the movie after 4 days is approximately 19 crores net and the full week is looking to around 24 crores. ## There will be a horror comedy Munjya released on June 7 which is expected to pause some challenges to Mr and Mrs Mahi due to its connection with Maddock Films' horror comedy universe. Mumbai, June 3 - Tom Hardy is ready to wreak havoc one last time as Marvel anti-hero Venom in the third film of the franchise Venom: The Last Dance. The first trailer of the film was released on Monday to unleash hell. ## Venom 3 has been confirmed to be the last film in the franchise by Sony Pictures, something fans speculated at the time when the title of the movie was announced in 2023. It is the fifth film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU) and the sequel to Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021). ## Directed by Kelly Marcel, the movie was officially confirmed at CinemaCon 2022. The first two movies, released in 2018 and 2021, were box office successes, grossing over $1.3 billion worldwide. Venom 3 is touted to be the best film in the franchise. ## Starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and Venom, alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Graham, Venom 3 will be released on October 25, 2024.
