The filmmaker's last directorial was Rajinikanth-fronted "Darbar" which was released in 2020, and now, after more than 3 years, Murugadoss is making his directorial return.## It has been reported that Murugadoss will make his directorial return with a Tamil action entertainer. Now, as per the latest reports, the filmmaker has finalized Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan and actress Mrunal Thakur in the leading roles for his next film.## The upcoming movie will mark Mrunal Thakur's debut in Tamil cinema. FEFSI Imposes Strict and Controversial Rules On Tamil Films

Chennai, July 26 - The Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) is getting criticism from Tamil filmmakers after the federation introduced a new set of guidelines for Kollywood films going forward. ## According to new rules set by FEFSI (via News18), "only Tamil artists should be employed in Tamil movies" going forward. It has also made it mandatory that "Tamil film shoots should not be conducted in other states or foreign countries unless absolutely necessary". ## Additionally, the federation has insisted that "in cases where shoots exceed the scheduled time or the allocated budget, proper written communication must be provided to the producers concerned, along with appropriate reasons for the delay or budget overrun".## Apart from the aforementioned rules, FEFSI has also insisted that "if the director is the writer, then he has to take responsibility in case of story ownership issues, and the issue should not affect the producer or the film". ## It is said that members of the FEFSI faced difficulties in finding employment as Tamil films frequently cast stars and actors from other industries. The organization also stated that any violation of these rules will result in disciplinary action being taken.## However, the new rules by FEFSI have invited controversy as Tamil, as well as other industry filmmakers, are slamming the board for the same. Malayalam filmmaker Vinayan, who has also worked in a few Tamil films slammed new rules. ## He wrote in a Facebook post, "While we see India as a single nation, Tamil Nadu film associations are headed in the direction of a highly localized decision in a place where it is believed that all Indians are brothers and sisters. This news has been out for a while but we have not seen the Tamil Nadu government opposing the decision". ## He further added that this separatist move should not be allowed to grow and that no one can curb Indian artists to work in any state and any language. Thalapathy Vijay To Quit Acting Once He Enters Politics

Chennai, July 11 - Amid the rumours of Thalapathy Vijay planning to join the politics soon, the actor has reportedly made a big statement regarding his film career. ## During an event in Chennai, Thalapathy Vijay has reportedly claimed that he will quit acting in films once he enters politics. The actor said that he will be fully focused on politics only if he ever decides to join it. ## It was recently reported that Thalapathy Vijay will not be doing films after his 68th movie which is with the director Venkat Prabhu. The shoot for the same will commence later this year and the plans are there to release it on the occasion of Diwali next year. ## Thalapathy Vijay has recently completed his portion in the highly-anticipated Pan India movie "Leo" directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. It is scheduled to release on October 19, this year on the occasion of Dussehra in multiple languages. ## Meanwhile, there is still no confirmation whether Venkat Prabhu's will be Vijay's last film or if he will do a few more movies before doing full-time politics. MS Dhoni Reveals Why He Chooses To Produce His First Film In Tamil

Chennai, July 11 - Former Indian cricket team captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is making his film debut as a producer with the Tamil movie "LGM- Let's Get Married". Directed by Ramesh Thamilmani, the movie stars Harish Kalyan, Ivana, Nadiya, Yogi Babu, and RJ Vijay in key roles. ## MS Dhoni, along with his wife Sakshi Dhoni were present at the trailer launch event of "LGM" in Chennai yesterday (July 10). During the event, captain cool revealed why he chose to make his first film in the Tamil language, to which he opened up about his special bond with Tamil Nadu. ## "My first test debut was in Chennai. My highest test score was in Chennai, and now, my first movie is in Tamil. Chennai is more special to me, I was adopted here in 2008 when IPL started off. We produced our first film in Tamil because of our mutual love for the state", Dhoni said. ## MS further said that the entire cast of the film, led by Harish Kalyan, Nadiya, Ivana, Yogi Babu, and RJ Vijay have done a fantabulous job and made a clean family entertainer. ## "I can watch it with my daughter. She is eight and a half years old, she will have questions but can watch it... When Sakshi came up with the idea and explained everything. Chennai, June 28 - Legendary actor Kamal Haasan reunites with director Shankar for the sequel to the 1996 film Indian. After many delays, the shoot of "Indian 2" is having at a brisk pace and it will be wrapped soon as the makers are planning to release the first early next year. ## As the shoot of "Indian 2" is progressing, it seems Kamal Haasan is mighty impressed with the output director Shankar has shot so far. On Wednesday, the "Vikram" star took to Twitter to announce that he has watched the main scenes of "Indian 2" and called them the peak of Shankar's artistic abilities. ## "I watched the main scenes of 'Indian 2' today. Vetrimaaran Drops A Big Update On Suriya's 'Vaadivaasal'

Chennai, June 27 - Tamil director Vetrimaaran's highly-awaited film "Vaadivaasal" with superstar Suriya has been in the news ever since it was announced a long time back. However, even after so much time passed since the announcement, the movie hasn't rolled out yet. ## The film was announced a few years back and a test shoot with Suriya also happened several months back. It was supposed to go on floors in 2022 but due to Vetrimaaran's "Viduthalai", the shoot got delayed. Now, the filmmaker has provided a much-awaited update on the same and confirmed that it will go on floors soon. ## During a recent interview, Vetrimaaran stated that the pre-production work for "Vaadivaasal" is underway in London. The entire moments of the bulls that have to perform with Suriya have been scanned and transferred to high-end computers. ## The director said that he will start shooting for "Vaadivaasal" soon after completing the remaining shoot of "Viduthalai - Part 2" starring Vijay Sethupathi and Soori. Chennai, June 22 - The first look poster of Thalapathy Vijay's most awaited gangster drama film Leo arrived at midnight on June 22 on the occasion of the actor's birthday. The film marks Vijay's second collaboration with director Lokesh Kanagaraj after the blockbuster "Master". ## "Leo" is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated Indian movies of the year, and the first look is anything to go by, the moviegoers are up for a wild cinematic ride. The first look showcased Thalapathy Vijay hitting his ally with a hammer as blood and teeth fly in the air as the actor gives a stern gaze, after landing the blow. Chennai, June 11 - The stalwarts of Indian cinema, Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan are all set to reunite for a feature film after 32 long years. The duo has worked together in films like "Hum", "Andhaa Kaanoon", and "Geraftaar" to deliver memorable performances. ## According to the latest reports, the icons of Indian cinema will be coming together for a film, to be directed by "Jai Bhim" director TJ Gnanavel and to be produced by Lyca Productions. The movie will reportedly feature Rajinikanth in the lead role while Big B will play an important role in "Thalaivar 170". ## The official announcement regarding the casting of Amitabh Bachchan is yet to be made but reports say that the legendary actor is very much a part of the film. After Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo', Gokulam Movies Grabs Kerala Theatrical Rights of Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Jailer'

Kochi, June 8 - Sree Gokulam Movies has acquired theatrical rights to another Tamil biggie, superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer to distribute across the Kerala state. ## One of the leading distribution studios in Kerala, Gokulam Movies recently grabbed Thalapathy Vijay's highly-awaited Pan India movie "Leo" at an all-time record price of 16 crores. Vijay has a huge following in Kerala which helped the makers to crack such a big deal. ## Now, superstar Rajinikanth's action-comedy "Jailer" will also be released by the same studio, according to the Kerala trade source AB George. The studio has reportedly paid a good amount of 5.50 crores for the same as a minimum guarantee royalty. ## "Jailer" is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures.
