Korean Kanakaraju Day 5: Varun Tej Starrer Grosses 1.82 Crore as Worldwide Total Nears 25 Crore Milestone

The Telugu horror-comedy Korean Kanakaraju is currently navigating its crucial first-week testing phase at the box office. Starring Varun Tej in the lead and directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, the film generated pre-release interest due to its quirky title and the lead actor's shift into a more comedic space. On its first Tuesday, the movie earned 1.82 crore rupees in India gross collections. This represents a 23.8 percent drop from yesterday performance, as net collections settled at 1.60 crore rupees. While mid-week dips are expected for this genre, the film is maintaining its theatrical presence across 1,758 shows in India. In India, the cumulative gross has touched 19.42 crore rupees, corresponding to a net collection of 16.90 crore rupees. The international market has also contributed steadily, with 30 lakh rupees added on Tuesday, bringing the total overseas gross to 4.60 crore rupees. Consequently, the worldwide gross collection for Korean Kanakaraju now stands at 24.02 crore rupees, a total accumulated through 8,729 shows globally so far. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Diving into the regional breakdown, the Telugu 2D version saw an overall occupancy of 22.42 percent on Tuesday. Interest picked up as the day progressed, starting with 15.42 percent in the morning and peaking during the night shows at 25.83 percent. Afternoon and evening sessions recorded 24.92 percent and 19.58 percent respectively. In terms of major regions, Vizag-Visakhapatnam stood out with a strong 31.3 percent occupancy across 103 shows. Hyderabad followed with a steady 21 percent occupancy over 347 shows, while Bengaluru recorded 17 percent occupancy for 157 shows. The state-wise data highlights that the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana contributed 1.62 crore rupees to the daily gross. Other regions like Karnataka added 15 lakh rupees, while the rest of India and Tamil Nadu brought in smaller contributions of 3 lakh and 2 lakh rupees respectively. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Performance in the major national multiplex chains, including PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis, remained on the quieter side. Combined, these three chains sold approximately 2,500 tickets, resulting in a daily gross of roughly 5 lakh rupees at an average occupancy of 3.69 percent. Individually, PVR led with about 1,100 tickets sold and a gross of 2.45 lakh rupees. INOX followed with approximately 800 tickets, and Cinepolis saw roughly 550 tickets booked. These urban centers accounted for 350 shows on Tuesday. On the digital ticketing front, BookMyShow continues to reflect steady volume. In the last 24 hours alone, nearly 26,000 tickets were sold on the platform, bringing the total tickets sold through the app to approximately 4.85 lakh. This signifies that a healthy portion of the urban audience is still actively planning their visits through advance bookings. In the overseas market, specifically North America, the film is seeing a stable run for a regional release. According to data shared by Venky Box Office, Korean Kanakaraju grossed 21,000 dollars on Monday. This brings its total collection in the North American region to 346,000 dollars.

Suriya's Vishwanath & Sons Crosses $36K in USA Premiere Advance Sales with Three Days to Go

Early advance booking data for Vishwanath & Sons from the United States is starting to provide a clearer look at the films market potential. This project marks the return of director Venky Atluri, who is currently in a strong professional phase following his National Film Award for the screenplay of Lucky Baskhar. Similarly, lead actor Suriya is entering this release after the significant success of Karuppu, a film that redefined his commercial standing and set new performance milestones in the South. With both the lead star and the director coming off career highs, industry observers are tracking this film as a key theatrical event for the year. The film itself offers a rare and mature premise, with Suriya portraying Sanjay Vishwanath, a 42-year-old international pistol shooter and business tycoon. The core of the story explores a complex 20-year age gap romance with a Gen-Z woman, played by Mamitha Baiju. This departure from typical commercial tropes into a more layered, character-driven drama is exactly what audiences have come to expect from Venky Atluri. After his transition from soft romances like Tholi Prema to heavy-hitters like Vaathi and Lucky Baskhar, Atluri has become a symbol of reliability for both distributors and fans alike. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Trade reports indicate that the film needs to gross roughly 40 crore in the Telugu states to reach breakeven, while the worldwide target across all languages is estimated to be around 200 crore. Early premiere sales in North America suggest a steady start toward these goals. According to data from Venky Box Office, USA premiere advance sales have already surpassed 36,000 dollars across more than 100 locations. With roughly 270 shows currently tracked, about 2,000 tickets have been sold with three days remaining before the official premieres. A closer look at the USA numbers reveals that the Telugu version is leading the way, accounting for about 22,600 dollars of the total gross from roughly 1,250 tickets. The Tamil version is also showing decent traction, bringing in approximately 13,600 dollars from around 770 tickets. In terms of state-wise performance, Texas is dominating the charts by a wide margin, contributing over 18,400 dollars, which is nearly half of the total US gross so far. California follows with about 4,200 dollars, while Pennsylvania and New Jersey have added roughly 1,100 dollars and 950 dollars respectively. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The cinema chain breakdown shows a heavy preference for Cinemark, which has accounted for nearly the entire gross with approximately 35,200 dollars from 210 shows. AMC and other chains are just beginning to open their bookings. Specifically, Cinemark Pflugerville 20 and XD is currently the highest-grossing theater for the film, pulling in about 4,160 dollars with a 38 percent occupancy. Other top-performing venues include Cinemark Legacy and XD and Cinemark Buckland Hills 18, which are maintaining occupancy rates between 30 and 35 percent. Most of the sales are coming from standard formats, which have generated about 35,600 dollars, while premium formats are just starting to see movement. With full-fledged bookings set to open tomorrow, these numbers are expected to be encouraging. If the domestic market mirrors the early enthusiasm seen in the US, Suriya might just have another record-breaker on his hands come August 14.

Korean Kanakaraju Day 2 Box Office Worldwide Gross Reaches Over 12 Crore as Film Maintains Steady Momentum

Korean Kanakaraju has completed its first two days at the box office, showing a steady performance through its opening weekend. The film has reached a total worldwide gross of 12.60 crore so far. This collection is supported by a 9.60 crore gross from the Indian market and an overseas contribution of 3.00 crore. These early results indicate a consistent start for the movie as it continues to find its audience in both domestic and international territories. On Saturday, the movie recorded an India gross collection of 4.77 crore. When looking at the net figures, Day 2 brought in 4.15 crore, which is a marginal 1.2 percent drop from the opening day net of 4.20 crore. This stability in numbers indicates that the audience who enjoyed the early shows is providing decent word-of-mouth, helping the film maintain its pace across 1,741 shows on its second day. So far, the total India net collection stands at 8.35 crore. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The occupancy levels for Day 2 remained healthy, averaging 53.6 percent overall. The night shows were particularly strong, touching nearly 68 percent occupancy. Geographically, the film is performing best in its home turf of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, which contributed 4.00 crore gross on Saturday. In major cities, Hyderabad saw an overall occupancy of 58.5 percent across 324 shows, while Vizag reported a high of 64.5 percent. Bengaluru also contributed significantly with a 48.3 percent occupancy across 137 shows, resulting in a Karnataka gross of 0.65 crore for the day. Ticket sales data from BookMyShow reflects this steady trend, with approximately 141 thousand tickets sold in the last 24 hours alone, bringing the total platform sales to over 302 thousand tickets. In the national chainsβ€”PVR, INOX, and Cinepolisβ€”the movie saw a decent turnout on Saturday. These chains collectively sold about 4.6 thousand tickets, generating a gross of 10.9 lakh. PVR led the chains with a contribution of 5.3 lakh, while INOX added 3.9 lakh and Cinepolis accounted for 1.7 lakh. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The international market, specifically North America, is also showing positive signs. According to data shared by Venky Box Office, the North America gross for Friday stood at 178 thousand dollars, which includes 90 thousand dollars from premieres. On Saturday, the hourly box office report at 7 PM PST showed the film had already collected 78 thousand dollars from 144 locations. With a total overseas gross of 3.00 crore so far, the film is proving its appeal to the diaspora audience. From a financial perspective, the film was produced on a reported budget of 38 crore, but a significant portion of thisβ€”26 croreβ€”was recovered before the theatrical release through non-theatrical revenues. These deals included digital streaming rights, satellite TV, audio, and Hindi dubbing rights. Because of this massive pre-release recovery, the theatrical breakeven target is remarkably low. The film only needs to cross roughly 25 crore to 30 crore in gross box office collections to be classified as a theatrical hit. Given that it has already grossed 12.60 crore worldwide in just two days, it is well on its way to reaching that milestone during its first week.

Director SS Rajamouli Reveals Character Details As He Drops New Stills of Mahesh Babu's Rudra In Varanasi

Hyderabad, August 9 - Director SS Rajamouli has given fans another glimpse into his much-awaited collaboration with Mahesh Babu, Varanasi. On the occasion of the superstar's birthday, the filmmaker unveiled two new stills featuring Babu as Rudhra, offering a closer look at the character from the ambitious adventure drama. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Alongside the new images, Rajamouli described Rudhra as "witty, vulnerable and fierce," giving audiences a sense of the contrasting shades that Mahesh Babu's character will bring to the film. The latest stills have further intensified curiosity around Rudhra, who was previously introduced in a much more intense avatar during the film’s grand reveal. He is witty, he is vulnerable, and he is fierce. That is what Mahesh brought to him. Anyone can play fierce. Very few can play fierce and fragile in the same breath". Nani The Paradise Teaser hits historic 350K likes milestone and surpasses his own previous benchmark set by HIT 3

The teaser for Natural Star Nani's upcoming film, The Paradise, has made an immediate impact upon its release. Within just 24 minutes, the footage crossed the 100K likes mark on YouTube, a pace that puts it in line with the numbers typically seen for Indian cinema's top-tier stars. This rapid engagement suggests a high level of anticipation for the project, specifically for the Telugu version, which appears to be heading toward a significant worldwide opening. Looking at the 24-hour performance, Nani has achieved another major milestone by scoring his second teaser with over 350K likes in a single day. The Paradise teaser managed to reach 382K likes in just 19 hours, effectively outpacing the previous record set by the actor's own HIT 3 teaser, which had gathered 353K likes in a full 24-hour window. This consistent growth in digital engagement indicates that the actor's fan base and general audience reach are expanding with each new project. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) In the context of his peers in the industry, these numbers place Nani in a unique position. Currently, other notable Tier-2 stars such as Vijay Deverakonda and Naga Chaitanya have yet to cross the 350K likes threshold for a teaser within the first 24 hours of its release. The ability to generate such high immediate interaction is a key indicator of potential theatrical demand, and Nani's current trajectory suggests he is establishing a higher benchmark for digital hype in this category. The teaser itself, directed by Srikanth Odela, presents a raw and unapologetic world that marks a significant departure for the actor. Following their previous collaboration on Dasara, the filmmaker seems to have doubled down on a brutal and adrenaline-fueled narrative. Early reactions to the footage highlight an intense presentation that is being described as a cinematic explosion. With this level of pre-release momentum and a grittier version of Nani being showcased, the film looks set to drive massive footfalls across multiple languages upon its theatrical debut.

The Paradise teaser out now as Nani and Srikanth Odela reunite for multi language global release set for September 24

The highly anticipated teaser for The Paradise has finally arrived, marking the return of the powerhouse trio that delivered the 2023 blockbuster Dasara. Natural Star Nani, director Srikanth Odela, and producer Sudhakar Cherukuri have reunited under the SLV Cinemas banner for what is being described as a bloody epic. The Hindi teaser, shared by industry tracker Taran Adarsh, has immediately set social media on fire with its tagline Jadal Zamana, signaling the beginning of a new, darker era in Nanis filmography. This project is significantly more ambitious in its scale than their previous collaboration. The Paradise is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on September 24, 2026, and is targeting a massive global footprint. In a rare move for a South Indian production, the film will be released in eight different languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali, along with international versions in English and Spanish. This multi-language strategy highlights the confidence the producers have in the universal appeal of Srikanth Odelas storytelling. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The actor is coming off a successful streak at the box office, most recently with HIT: The Third Case. His portrayal of Arjun Sarkaar in that film earned positive reviews and helped the project become a super hit. This followed other well-received movies like the action thriller Saripodhaa Sanivaaram and the family drama Hi Nanna. These back-to-back successes have established a solid foundation for him as he transitions into the darker and more violent world of this new project. Industry reviewers and fans are already praising the films distinct visual identity. Cinematographer CH Sai has opted for a dark, smoky visual palette that relies heavily on moody imagery and deep shadows. The aesthetic has drawn favorable comparisons to high-end Hollywood comic book adaptations, moving away from the traditional bright colors often seen in commercial cinema. This gritty atmosphere serves as the perfect backdrop for the raw action sequences showcased in the teaser, which critics are labeling as mental mass. The core of the teaser is the shocking metamorphosis of Nani into the character of Jadal. Known for his relatable and grounded performances, the actor has undergone an extreme physical transformation for this role. His screen presence here is feral and unhinged, representing a total departure from his established Natural Star image. Critics have noted his terrifying dedication to the part, with many pointing out that this could be the most aggressive performance of his career so far. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Action lovers have been particularly impressed by the violence depicted in the brief footage. The teaser highlights a sequence of intense sword duels, heavy axe fights, and explosive riots that suggest a massive scale for the films conflict. The stunt choreography appears to be grounded yet incredibly brutal, fitting the moody and raw tone established by the cinematography. With music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the auditory experience is expected to match the high-octane visuals, further elevating the intensity of these battle sequences. Watch the Teaser here

Yash Raj Films Launches Raah Records To Nurture Original Independent Music Talent Tollywood

Yash Raj Films Launches Raah Records To Nurture Original Independent Music Talent

Yash Raj Films has officially stepped into the independent music scene with the launch of Raah Records. This new label and artist incubator is designed to discover and develop original Indian music talent specifically outside the realm of film soundtracks. For a studio that has defined the sound of Bollywood for over five decades, this move represents a logical expansion into the booming non-film music ecosystem. The label is starting its journey with the release of Jaadugari, a debut single by singer-songwriter Aman, which is scheduled to drop across major streaming platforms on August 5th. What makes this launch interesting is the approach behind it. Rather than a quick commercial release, Aman has reportedly spent nearly a year within the YRF incubator system. This allowed the artist to refine his sound and songwriting with professional support before facing the public, highlighting the label's commitment to quality over speed. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Akshaye Widhani, the CEO of Yash Raj Films, has emphasized that Raah Records is built on the philosophy of nurturing careers rather than just launching marketing campaigns. He noted that as the independent music space in India grows, artists need a foundation built on trust and time. By providing a structured environment that includes world-class production and strategic marketing, the studio intends to give emerging musicians a creative home where they can grow into their authentic selves without the pressure of cinematic requirements. The venture is being led by Nakul Sharma, who serves as the Senior General Manager of Music Management at YRF. Sharma has been a key figure in developing the incubator model, which focuses on every step of the artistic journey, from the initial songwriting phase to the final creative direction. He believes that standing beside an artist throughout their development is essential for long-term success. This artist-first approach is expected to define the label's roster as it expands in the coming months. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) This initiative places YRF at the forefront of the evolving digital landscape in India. As streaming platforms continue to democratize music consumption, the demand for high-quality independent tracks is at an all-time high. By leveraging its vast industry experience and infrastructure, YRF is positioning Raah Records as a serious competitor in the non-film music space, offering a professional platform for a new generation of Indian voices.

Rashmika Mandanna Faces Painful Recovery After Detached Hip Tendon Injury Disrupts Intense Mysaa Production

Rashmika Mandanna is learning the hard way that even the National Crush has a breaking point. After a series of back-to-back freak accidents, the actress took to social media to reveal a significant setback sustained on the sets of her upcoming project, Mysaa. The injury, which involves a detached tendon on her right hip, occurred during an intense dance shoot for what she describes as the most aggressive film of her career. The medical reality of the situation is quite technical, as Mandanna explained that one of the four tendons connecting her hip to her leg has detached and requires time to reattach naturally. This forced hiatus is a rare moment of stillness for an actress who famously treats her body like a machine, training and running like a beast to maintain her peak physical form. While she is currently trading the gym for puzzles and joking about her transition into a dessert monster, the industry is eyeing the recovery timeline closely given her packed professional calendar. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The film at the center of this incident, Mysaa, has been generating significant underground buzz as a high-octane venture that pushes Mandanna into a new territory of performance. Directed by Rawindra Pulle, the project is rumored to be a gritty, performance-oriented drama that demands both emotional depth and physical rigour. The aggressive nature of the shoot mentioned by the actress suggests that Mysaa will be a stark departure from her more traditional commercial outings, positioning her as a versatile lead capable of carrying intense, action-oriented narratives. This injury comes at a high-stakes juncture in Mandanna's career, as she navigates a post-Pushpa 2 landscape where her status as a pan-Indian A-lister is already cemented. With the global frenzy of Srivalli now a part of box office history following the film's massive 2024 release, her focus has shifted to a slate that is as diverse as it is demanding. Topping the current buzz is Mysaa, the very project that pushed her to this physical breaking point. Described as her most aggressive venture to date, Mysaa is expected to unveil a grittier, more physically taxing side of the actress that audiences have not yet witnessed. Also appearing on her professional timeline is Ranabaali, a period action epic that carries its own set of high expectations. The film features a powerhouse ensemble, headlined by her husband Vijay Deverakonda alongside international veteran Arnold Vosloo, whose presence adds a significant layer of commercial weight and global energy to the production. Upfront fee or profit share? How actors can compare two very different film deals Tollywood

Upfront fee or profit share? How actors can compare two very different film deals

A β‚Ή40 crore salary and a share of profits may look easy to compare, but payment timing, contract language, and the risk of a weak theatrical run can change which offer is actually worth more. An actor walks into a negotiation with two offers on the table. One promises β‚Ή20 crore on a fixed schedule. The other offers less cash upfront but a percentage of the film’s profits, carrying the possibility of a much larger payday. The second figure will usually make the louder headline, yet the quieter offer may leave the actor in a stronger financial position. Indian cinema already produces several versions of the fixed-fee-plus-backend model. As we reported, Yash’s reported Toxic deal combined a β‚Ή50 crore fee with 60% of net profits after the makers recovered their initial investment. The reported arrangement is a hybrid deal: guaranteed remuneration protects part of the actor’s earnings, while the profit share preserves the upside if theatrical and ancillary revenue lifts the film into profit. The headline number hides the contract A fixed fee is easier to understand because the contract states how much the actor receives and when the instalments become due. Even then, the full amount may not arrive on signing day. Payments can be tied to the start of filming, the completion of a schedule, dubbing, or delivery, so a quoted β‚Ή20 crore fee may be paid to the actor over many months. Profit participation brings a different set of questions. Does the percentage apply to gross revenue, the producer’s share, or net profit? Which production, marketing, distribution, and financing costs come out first? Can an actor inspect the accounts? A generous percentage attached to a narrow definition of profit can produce a smaller cheque than the headline suggests. Reported remuneration figures also need caution. In our coverage of Akshay Kumar’s Golmaal 5 remuneration rumours, the production house dismissed the circulated numbers as baseless and said the commercial terms were confidential. Film contracts rarely become public in full, which means readers often compare fragments rather than the actual agreements. Cash today and money after release Payment timing changes the comparison even when both figures are accurate. Suppose one offer guarantees β‚Ή20 crore now, while another is expected to pay β‚Ή30 crore three years after release. At an assumed annual return of 8%, that future β‚Ή30 crore has a present value of about β‚Ή23.81 crore. A present value calculator can perform the same comparison for a single expected future payment by using the future amount, the number of periods, and an interest rate that serves as the discount rate.  The β‚Ή23.81 crore estimate still does not make the deferred deal automatically better. The calculation assumes the β‚Ή30 crore arrives as expected. A delayed release, rising costs, a weak theatrical run, or a dispute over the definition of profit can reduce the payment or push it further into the future. Where a contract contains several expected payments on different dates, each cash flow needs separate treatment rather than being folded into a single headline number. What guaranteed money can earn elsewhere Guaranteed money has an opportunity cost as well. An actor who receives a fee earlier can use it for another production, property, debt reduction, or a diversified investment portfolio. SEBI’s investor education material notes that shareholders may receive part of a company’s profit as a dividend, although the company decides whether to distribute that money. For a simple illustration, imagine that β‚Ή20 crore is invested in dividend-paying shares with an assumed 6% annual yield, and all dividends are reinvested. After five years, the model produces about β‚Ή26.76 crore before taxes, fees, and changes in the share price or dividend. A dividend calculator can estimate the yield, final balance, growth, and dividend profit from the share price, annual dividend per share, amount invested, time period, and reinvestment frequency. It is a scenario, not a forecast. The safest-looking contract can still disappoint, and the boldest backend deal can become a career-defining payday. Much depends on the star’s bargaining power, confidence in the film, need for immediate liquidity, and access to reliable accounting. A hybrid agreement often sits between those extremes by putting some money in the bank while leaving a portion of the actor’s earnings tied to the film’s commercial run. By the time the first Friday arrives, the two offers no longer look like β‚Ή20 crore versus β‚Ή30 crore. One has already started working for the actor; the other is still waiting on ticket sales, rights revenue, deductions, and the wording buried in the signed contract.

Raaka: Allu Arjun and Atlee's 1,000 Crore Epic Expanded into a Two-Part Franchise Across Two Eras

The collaboration between Allu Arjun and director Atlee for their upcoming film Raaka is taking the Indian film industry by storm with its massive scale. According to an exclusive report by India Today, this project is no longer just a single film but has been expanded into a two-part franchise. The sheer ambition of the project is reflected in its staggering budget, which is currently estimated to be around 1,000 crore, making it one of the most expensive cinematic ventures ever attempted in the country. What makes Raaka particularly interesting is its narrative structure, which aims to bridge the gap between ancient mythology and the modern day. The film is set to weave together two entirely different worlds across distinct timelines. One major segment of the story will transport audiences back to a tribal Puranic Vedic era, a period that promises to showcase a unique aesthetic rarely explored with such high-end production values. The second segment will contrast this by bringing the story into a modern contemporary world. This dual-timeline approach suggests a deep, interconnected mystery between the ancestral past and the present, with Allu Arjun at the center of the narrative. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The casting choices for the film further highlight the divide between these two distinct eras. In the contemporary setting, Mrunal Thakur is set to play a lead role. Meanwhile, the historical Puranic Vedic segment will feature an incredible trio of leading ladies, including Deepika Padukone, Janhvi Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna. Having four major stars like this in a single project shows the level of world-building Atlee is putting into the franchise, ensuring that both parts carry significant star power and narrative weight across the different time periods. Beyond the primary cast, the film continues to generate headlines with its high-profile special appearances. The much-anticipated cameo by Shah Rukh Khan remains a key highlight for fans. It is reported that his portions are yet to be filmed and are currently being planned for an international schedule overseas to match the global aesthetic the makers are aiming for. Despite the complexity of filming two separate timelines and managing such a massive ensemble, industry reports suggest that the team intends to complete the principal photography for both parts before the end of this year. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) While the production house has kept specific plot points under wraps, the vision for Raaka is clearly aimed at creating a landmark cinematic experience. By moving away from a standalone format and embracing a two-part franchise model, Atlee and Allu Arjun are giving the story the room it needs to breathe.

Lenin Day 11: Steady Rs. 1.20 Cr Gross On Monday; Worldwide Gross Smashes Past Rs. 61 Crore Milestone

Lenin marks a sensational return to form for Akhil Akkineni, serving as the high-octane comeback his fans have been eagerly anticipating. The film has not only resonated with the masses but has also completely rewritten the actor's personal box office history. Lenin managed to surpass the lifetime collections of his previous career-best, Most Eligible Bachelor, within just its first week of release. This rapid ascent highlights the hype surrounding this project and cements its status as Akhil's biggest blockbuster to date. Lenin has successfully navigated the crucial second Monday test, proving that the film still has enough steam to draw audiences to theaters during the weekdays. On its eleventh day, the movie collected a net total of β‚Ή1.05 crore in India. This figure represents a 63.8 percent drop from Sunday's net collection of β‚Ή2.90 crore, as far as trade s concerned it is a very healthy trajectory for a film that just finished a strong second weekend. This latest addition brings the total India net collections to β‚Ή44.65 crore, while the total India gross has reached β‚Ή51.23 crore across 1,790 shows. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) What makes this Day 11 performance particularly notable is the film's resilience against massive Hollywood competition. Despite losing almost all premium large-format and IMAX screens to the arrival of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, Lenin has managed to sustain steady theatrical footfalls. Having already breached its main break-even targets during the first week, every rupee the film pulls in now is directly increasing the profit margins for its regional distributors. This successful hold in the face of a global blockbuster wave is a significant win for the makers. Looking at the occupancy rates, the film maintained an overall rate of 16.21 percent on Monday. Interestingly, the afternoon shows emerged as the strongest period of the day with an occupancy of 18.08 percent, followed by evening and night shows which hovered around the 15 percent mark. Regionally, Hyderabad remains the primary engine for the film’s growth, recording a 16.5 percent occupancy across 314 shows. Bengaluru also contributed significantly with a 10 percent occupancy rate across 208 shows, showing that the film has found a dedicated audience in major urban centers. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The regional distribution of the film's earnings on Day 11 further highlights its stronghold in the Telugu-speaking states. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana spearheaded the collections with a gross of β‚Ή1.10 crore, accounting for the vast majority of the daily haul. Karnataka followed with a contribution of β‚Ή0.09 crore, while the rest of India added another β‚Ή0.01 crore to the tally. This brings the total India gross for the second Monday to β‚Ή1.20 crore, reinforcing that while the home territory remains the primary driver, the film is still pulling in consistent, albeit smaller, numbers from neighboring regions. Ticket sales data from BookMyShow further illustrates the film's steady momentum. In the last 24 hours alone, the platform recorded 13,400 ticket sales, pushing the total number of tickets sold on BookMyShow to over 1.09 million. In the national chains, the film saw a calculated turnout of approximately 1,400 tickets across PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis. PVR led the way with around 900 tickets, while INOX and Cinepolis contributed approximately 400 and 150 tickets respectively. While these numbers are lower than the weekend highs, they represent a solid floor for a weekday run. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) On the global front, Lenin is showing a very balanced performance. The film has grossed a total of β‚Ή10.30 crore in overseas markets, which has pushed its total worldwide gross collection to an impressive β‚Ή61.53 crore. Most of the domestic revenue is coming from the Telugu states, which have contributed β‚Ή45.10 crore to the total gross, while Karnataka and other parts of India have added another β‚Ή5.60 crore. With the film now operating in pure profit territory, the coming weekdays will determine just how high the final tally can go before the next wave of releases arrives.

Nani's The Paradise Sets Landmark Theatrical Deal: Mythri Movie Makers Secure Nizam Rights for Massive Actioner

The collaboration between Natural Star Nani and director Srikanth Odela has become one of the most anticipated projects in Tollywood's 2026 calendar. Titled The Paradise, the film serves as a high-stakes reunion for the duo following their 2023 blockbuster, Dasara. While the project has been under wraps for some time, recent market developments have highlighted just how massive this spectacle is going to be. In a major development for the trade circuit, the theatrical rights for the Nizam region have reportedly been bagged by Mythri Movie Makers. Industry insiders suggest the deal was closed for a reported β‚Ή37 crores, an unprecedented figure for a Nani starrer in this territory. This deal serves as a strong market signal, indicating high distributor confidence in Srikanth Odela's vision and Nani’s box office pull. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The scale of The Paradise is significantly larger than anything Nani has attempted before. The film is being produced on a staggering reported budget that has now escalated into the β‚Ή160 to β‚Ή200-crore range. To put this into perspective, this budget effectively triples the cost of Nani's other concurrent franchise, HIT: The Third Case, which was made for a reported β‚Ή70 crores. The spike in production costs is attributed to director Srikanth Odela's meticulous action choreography and the ambitious nature of the shoot. On the casting front, Nani is set to appear in a rugged transformation as a raw, heavy-bearded fighter named Jadal (or Dhagad). The film also marks the intense Telugu debut of Bollywood actor Raghav Juyal, who plays the primary antagonist, Vikram Malik. Adding further weight to the ensemble is veteran actor Mohan Babu, who portrays a character named Shikanja Malik, alongside Kayadu Lohar and Sonali Kulkarni in pivotal roles. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) While fans were initially expecting an August release, the latest industry buzz indicates a shift in the timeline. Originally locked for August 21, 2026, the film is reportedly facing production delays as approximately 30 to 35 shooting days are still pending. Trade reports now reveal that the team is targeting a late September release, specifically September 24 or 25, 2026. This extra time is believed to be necessary to ensure the high-octane action sequences meet the global standards the makers are aiming for.

Lenin Week 1 Box Office: Rs. 50.92 Cr Global Gross Marks a Career-Best for Akhil Akkineni Starrer

The film industry often sees massive budget spectacles taking over the box office, but every once in a while, a content-driven project like Lenin arrives and completely shifts the narrative. From its first day of release, the film generated a strong positive buzz, primarily driven by its relatable storytelling and impactful performances. Released on a mid-range scale, Lenin has defied expectations by delivering consistent numbers, proving that word-of-mouth still holds significant power in the 2026 cinematic landscape. The total cost of production and promotion was approximately β‚Ή55 crores. The makers played a smart hand by recovering about 50 percent of this budgetβ€”roughly β‚Ή30 croresβ€”through non-theatrical rights like digital and satellite deals before the film even hit the screens. This left a theatrical business value of around β‚Ή20 crores, requiring a distributor share of β‚Ή22 crores to achieve break-even. Remarkably, the film crossed this target by its second day, securing its status as a clean hit almost immediately. It started strong with β‚Ή7.15 Cr on Friday and saw healthy growth over the weekend, peaking on Sunday with β‚Ή9.65 Cr. Even more impressive was the Monday hold, which saw a collection of β‚Ή3.60 Cr. By the time it finished its seventh day on Thursday, the film added β‚Ή2.00 Cr, bringing its total India net collection to β‚Ή36.20 Cr. The show count remained incredibly stable throughout the week, starting at 2,028 and finishing with 2,119 shows on Thursday, indicating that theater owners were actually adding screenings to accommodate the demand. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Regional data highlights that the film is a major force in the Telugu-speaking states (APTG), which contributed a massive β‚Ή36.55 Cr to the total India gross of β‚Ή41.52 Cr. Karnataka also provided strong support with nearly β‚Ή4.00 Cr in gross collections. While the performance in Tamil Nadu and other regions was more modest, the overwhelming dominance in its home circuit has been the driving force behind the hit status. Occupancy rates remained high, starting at 50 percent on Friday and soaring to 59 percent on Sunday, before settling into a respectable 22 percent by Thursday. The international performance of Lenin has been equally consistent, helping the film secure its profitable status globally. By Wednesday, the sixth day of its release, the film successfully completed its break-even target in overseas markets, emerging as a clean hit. According to data from Venky Box Office, the North American circuit contributed 26k dollars (approximately β‚Ή22 lakh) on Wednesday, bringing the regional total to 703k dollars (approximately β‚Ή5.9 Cr). With a total overseas gross of β‚Ή9.40 Cr, the film's cumulative worldwide gross reached β‚Ή50.92 Cr at the end of its first week. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Ticket sales data from BookMyShow reinforces the films mass appeal. Over the last 24 hours alone, nearly 33,000 tickets were sold, bringing the total tickets booked on the platform to over 9.3 lakh for the week. Furthermore, the film saw strong engagement at national chains like PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis, where over 51,000 tickets were moved during the seven-day period. These numbers, combined with the fact that the film has achieved break-even in all territories, solidify Lenin as one of the most profitable and well-received films of the year so far.

Allu Arjun and Basil Joseph in Final Talks? Here's what we know

Following the massive global success of Pushpa 2: The Rule, Allu Arjun appears to be focusing on a diverse slate of projects that span multiple regional industries. Rather than sticking to a single market, he is systematically collaborating with prominent filmmakers from the Tamil and Malayalam industries alongside his Telugu roots. This move suggests a calculated approach to strengthening his pan-Indian presence through a variety of genres over the next few years. The newest development that has caught everyone's attention is a rumored collaboration between Allu Arjun and Malayalam director Basil Joseph. The buzz started when Basil Joseph shared a social media post featuring an ICON cap set to a popular track from Arya 2. This has led to reports that the two are in the final stages of discussion for a film, often referred to as the B and B combo. If the deal is finalized, this project is expected to be a high-budget superhero entertainer that could start production by late 2027 under the Geetha Arts banner. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) While the Basil Joseph project is the latest talk of the town, Allu Arjun already has two massive projects lined up. First is Raaka, or AA22, directed by Atlee. This project is currently under active production and is being described as a heavy-VFX sci-fi fantasy action entertainer. It features Deepika Padukone as the female lead with music scored by Sai Abhyankkar. Given the extensive post-production required for such a visual spectacle, the film is slated for a grand arrival between late 2027 and mid-2028. Following that, the actor is set to team up with Lokesh Kanagaraj for AA23. Initial styling and look tests for this project were recently completed in Mumbai, and regular shooting is expected to begin around December 2026 or January 2027. Backed by Mythri Movie Makers, this is touted to be a gritty action thriller with music by Anirudh Ravichander. There is significant speculation among fans regarding whether this film will eventually link into the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The long-term planning for Allu Arjun extends even further with a project featuring director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. This collaboration is expected to roll out closer to 2028 or 2029, as the director is currently occupied with other major commitments. With directors like Atlee, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and potentially Basil Joseph on his roster, the actor is systematically working with the most influential commercial filmmakers in the South. Basil Joseph, the director linked to this new project, is a unique talent who balances both directing and acting. While he is widely recognized for directing the 2021 superhero hit Minnal Murali, he has also been very active as an actor. His upcoming acting slate includes roles in Malayalam films such as Maranamass, Pravinkoodu Shappu, and the drama Ponman. Transitioning back to the director's chair for a star of Allu Arjun's stature would be a significant step in his career and a highly anticipated move for the audience.

Lenin Day 4 Box Office Global Gross Reaches 41 Crore Milestone as Monday Performance Remains Steady

Lenin is a gritty rural action drama directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, who is recognized for his work on Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha. The film features Akhil Akkineni in a rugged avatar alongside Bhagyashri Borse, marking a significant project produced by the heavyweight collaboration of Annapurna Studios and Sithara Entertainments under Nagarjuna Akkineni and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi. With a powerhouse supporting cast including Sunil, Brahmaji, Sivaji, and Easwari Rao, and an energetic musical score by Thaman S, the film has established itself as a high-stakes commercial entertainer that balances intense action with deep-rooted emotional conflicts. The film has passed its first major test on the weekdays with a steady hold on Monday. After a strong opening weekend, the film is now transitioning into the profit zone for its makers. On its fourth day, the film collected an India gross of 4.10 crore across 2,122 shows. When compared to the Sunday gross of 11.10 crore, this represents a drop of approximately 63 percent. This dip is a standard trend for regional films moving from a peak weekend into a working Monday. This takes the total India gross collection to 33.37 crore after four days. In terms of net earnings, the domestic total currently stands at 29.05 crore, with the Monday net contribution being 3.60 crore. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The production and promotion cost for the project was reportedly around 55 crore, and it had already secured a significant safety net by recovering nearly 50 percent of its budget through non-theatrical rights, which brought in 30 crore. With the theatrical business value pegged at 20 crore, the film needed a distributor share of 22 crore to hit the breakeven mark. According to reported data, the movie has already achieved this milestone within just three days, recording a worldwide share of 22.3 crore and a recovery rate of 101.3 percent. The regional performance remains heavily concentrated in the home markets. On Monday, the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (APTG) region contributed a gross of 3.70 crore, which remains the primary driver for the film. Karnataka followed with a gross of 0.32 crore, while Tamil Nadu and other parts of India each added roughly 0.04 crore to the daily tally. This regional strength has been the backbone of the film's theatrical run so far. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) International markets are also showing impressive numbers. According to data provided by Venky Box Office, Lenin had an excellent opening weekend overseas, grossing a total of 625K dollars, which is approximately 6 crore. In North America specifically, the Sunday gross was 106K dollars (roughly 1.02 crore), bringing the total in that region to 548K dollars (approximately 5.26 crore). Looking ahead, the film is trending toward a strong showing on Discount Tuesday, with early estimates suggesting a collection between 75K dollars (around 72 lakhs) and 100K dollars (approximately 96 lakhs). On Monday, the film added an overseas gross of 0.75 crore, pushing the total international gross to 8.05 crore and the worldwide cumulative gross to 41.42 crore. Theater occupancy on Monday stayed healthy at an overall average of 30.12 percent. The day started with 22.62 percent in the morning and saw a peak of 36.54 percent during the night shows. Regionally, Vizag led the charts with a massive 59.0 percent occupancy across 99 shows. Hyderabad maintained a solid 35.3 percent over 375 shows, while Bengaluru recorded 18.8 percent across 251 shows. These figures suggest that the film is finding consistent footfalls in key urban centers. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Digital ticket sales on BookMyShow reflect a similar momentum. In the last 24 hours alone, around 74.54K tickets were sold on the platform. This brings the total tickets sold for the film on BookMyShow to approximately 799.72K so far. The high volume of online bookings indicates that the audience interest remains strong despite the shift into the weekdays. Looking at the performance in national chains, the film recorded an advance booking of approximately 3.7K tickets for Monday, resulting in a gross of roughly 8 lakhs with an occupancy of 3.8 percent across 454 shows. Breaking this down by specific chains, PVR led with 2K tickets sold and a gross of 4.5 lakhs. INOX followed with 1.2K tickets, earning 2.3 lakhs, while Cinepolis contributed 0.6K tickets with a gross of 1.2 lakhs. These numbers are rounded to reflect the overall trend in the multiplex segment. The film is now entering a phase of pure profit for the distributors. With the breakeven target already surpassed, every crore added from here on will contribute to the movie's status as a major success. The steady Monday hold and the positive trend for Tuesday indicate that the film is likely to enjoy a long and fruitful run at the box office.

Prabhas' Karna Portrayal in Kalki 2898 AD Sparks Fresh Debate; Director Nag Ashwin Responds to Critics

Hyderabad, July 14 - Director Nag Ashwin has broken his silence on the renewed debate surrounding Prabhas' portrayal of Karna in Kalki 2898 AD. The filmmaker responded after social media discussions reignited over the film's interpretation of the iconic Mahabharata character, with some users questioning the creative liberties taken in the sci-fi epic. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The controversy gained momentum after a viral post criticised the film's depiction of Karna and claimed it strayed from the traditional narrative of the Mahabharata. As the discussion spread online, fans remained divided, with one section defending Nag Ashwin's unique vision while others argued that the characterisation conflicted with the original epic. Reacting to the criticism, Nag Ashwin made it clear that audiences should not judge the story based on the first instalment alone. The filmmaker said he knows exactly where the narrative is headed and urged viewers to wait for Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2 before forming conclusions. He also pointed out that there are multiple interpretations and translations of the Mahabharata, suggesting that his storytelling draws from a broader understanding of the epic rather than a single version. Maa Inti Bangaaram: β‚Ή98.28 Cr (Still Running) Rudhrama Devi: β‚Ή86.92 Cr Mahanati: β‚Ή83 Cr Arundhati: β‚Ή68.50 Cr Bhaagamathie: β‚Ή67.2 Cr (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The film's journey at the box office has been defined by a very steady and reliable performance across its multi-week run. It started with a strong impact in the first week, collecting β‚Ή33.70 Crore net. The momentum continued into the second week with a solid hold, bringing in another β‚Ή20.25 Crore. Even in its third week, despite the arrival of newer titles, it added β‚Ή5.75 Crore to its tally. This consistent footfall across a massive 44,533 shows allowed the movie to build a significant total without any major crashes in its daily collection graph. When you look at the regional breakdown of the India gross, the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana expectedly led the way with a massive contribution of β‚Ή52.92 Crore. However, the film also found a lot of takers in other regions, especially in Karnataka where it grossed a significant β‚Ή11.14 Crore. The Tamil Nadu market contributed β‚Ή5.33 Crore, while the rest of India and Kerala added β‚Ή1.11 Crore and β‚Ή0.23 Crore respectively, taking the total India gross to β‚Ή70.73 Crore. This regional diversity in collections proves that the subject matter resonated well beyond its primary home market. The international performance was another major victory for the makers. Overseas markets contributed a gross of β‚Ή27.55 Crore, which accounts for a substantial 28.03 percent share of the total worldwide business. This strong international presence, combined with a healthy domestic net of β‚Ή61.10 Crore, has pushed the worldwide gross collection to β‚Ή98.28 Crore as of its 24th day. With the movie still playing in several centers, it has truly lived up to its title by delivering gold for its investors and creators alike. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The film's digital footprint through ticket booking platforms further underscores its immense popularity. On BookMyShow alone, Maa Inti Bangaaram has recorded a fantastic total of over 15.79 lakh tickets sold to date. Telugu and Tamil Cinema Set To Collide Over Two Epic Films Based On Hindu God Lord Murugan

Hyderabad, July 11 - Telugu and Tamil cinema are gearing up for an exciting showdown, with two ambitious films based on Lord Murugan currently in development. While Indian cinema has produced several epics over the years, it is rare for two major industries to simultaneously back large-scale films inspired by the same Hindu deity. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) On the Telugu front, filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas is developing a magnum opus on Lord Murugan with Jr NTR in the lead. The project has generated significant buzz since its announcement, with the makers reportedly planning a grand visual spectacle that combines history, emotion, and cutting-edge visual effects. The film is expected to begin production after Jr NTR wraps up his ongoing commitments. Tamil cinema, meanwhile, has announced Thamizh Murugan, starring Dhanush in the lead role. The ambitious project will be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Vetrimaaran and is expected to present a distinct cinematic interpretation of Lord Murugan. The announcement has already created considerable excitement, given the combination of Dhanush and Vetrimaaran, who have previously delivered acclaimed films together. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) With both projects still in the early stages and release dates yet to be announced, the parallel development of these two films has become a major talking point among fans. If the films arrive within a similar timeframe, audiences could witness an intriguing comparison between Telugu and Tamil cinema's unique storytelling styles and their respective visions of one of Hinduism's most revered deities. About Lord Murugan Lord Murugan, also known as Kartikeya, Skanda, Subrahmanya, Shanmukha, and Kumara, is one of the most revered deities in Hinduism. He is especially worshipped in South India, particularly in Tamil Nadu, as the God of War, Courage, Victory, and Wisdom. Lord Murugan is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and the younger brother of Lord Ganesha. He is believed to have been born to defeat the powerful demon Tarakasura, who could only be slain by Shiva's son.

Maa Inti Bangaaram Day 20: Film Grosses Rs. 0.46 Cr; Just 72 Lakh Shy of Surpassing Nani's Career Best Karnataka Run With HIT 3

Samantha Ruth Prabhu made a highly anticipated return to the big screen with the action-drama Maa Inti Bangaaram, marking her first release after a three-year hiatus following Kushi. While the film was produced on a controlled budget estimated between 20 crore and 30 crore, it managed to recover its entire investment through pre-release business alone. This high demand allowed the movie to enter a pure profit zone from its very first day. Currently, its global performance is nearly three to four times its initial production cost, making it a significant commercial success. Looking at the Day 20 performance, which fell on its third Wednesday, the film earned an India gross of 0.46 crore. This shows a slight uptick from the previous day gross of 0.45 crore. In terms of net earnings, the movie collected 0.40 crore on Wednesday, representing a 2.6 percent growth compared to Tuesday. This steady momentum across 1,016 shows is noteworthy for a film entering its fourth week in theaters. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The cumulative totals for Maa Inti Bangaaram highlight its strong theatrical run. The total India gross now stands at 68.64 crore, while the total India net collection has reached 59.29 crore. On the international front, the film has grossed 26.60 crore overseas. According to data tracked by Venky Box Office, the movie earned 15,000 dollars (approx. 12.5 lakh) in North America on Tuesday, taking its total in that region to a significant 2.04 million dollars (approx. 17.10 crore). When we combine these figures, the total worldwide gross collection currently stands at approximately 95.24 crore. This milestone has been achieved across a total of 42,106 shows since its release. A regional breakdown of the collections shows that the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (APTG) market remains the strongest contributor, with a cumulative gross of 51.24 crore. On Day 20 specifically, this region added 0.37 crore to the gross. Karnataka has also been a major territory, contributing a total gross of 10.77 crore so far. Interestingly, the film is now just 72 lakh behind the Karnataka box office collection of HIT: The Third Case. With this performance, Samantha has surpassed the career-best Karnataka collections of stars like Nani, Balakrishna, and Naga Chaitanya. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) In other states, Tamil Nadu has contributed a total gross of 5.31 crore, while Kerala and the rest of India have added 0.23 crore and 1.09 crore respectively. For the Telugu version on Day 20, the overall occupancy was 11.12 percent. Hyderabad led the major regions with 13.5 percent occupancy across 208 shows, followed by Vizag at 12.5 percent and Bengaluru at 12.3 percent. These consistent occupancy rates across the third week suggest that the film is still finding an audience in urban centers. The audience engagement is also visible on digital platforms. On BookMyShow, the film saw 6,310 tickets booked on Wednesday, following 8,240 tickets on Tuesday. This brings the total number of tickets sold on the platform to approximately 15.41 lakh. This level of sustained interest on a booking platform is a good indicator of the film’s long-tail potential in theaters. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Looking at the national cinema chains for Wednesday, PVR recorded approximately 470 tickets sold for a gross of 1 lakh. INOX and Cinepolis followed with roughly 230 and 390 tickets respectively, contributing a combined gross of about 1.30 lakh. In total, these major chains accounted for approximately 1,090 tickets and a combined gross of 2.35 lakh for the day. While these are smaller numbers compared to the opening week, they reflect the typical tapering off seen in a movie’s third week of release. With its worldwide gross now approaching the 100 crore mark, Maa Inti Bangaaram has solidified its position as a profitable venture for its producers and distributors. For Samantha, this successful comeback confirms her drawing power at the box office, particularly in the southern markets.
