Authenticity Appeals To Audiences Even If The Plot Is Region-Specific: Allu Arjun

Hyderabad, Jan 10 (IANS) The story of 'Pushpa' is centred around the Rayalaseema region in southern Andhra Pradesh, yet it was this past year's biggest pan-India hit. Are Indian audiences finally warming up to the idea that content matters more than regional specificities?## At least Allu Arjun, the star of 'Pushpa', believes this is happening. "The success of 'Pushpa' across northern India only validates my belief," he said. "Even if the plot is region-centric, its authenticity and the conviction with which the movie is made will appeal to audiences".## The success of 'Pushpa' has also opened up Allu Arjun to the idea of appearing in more multi-language movies.## In a recent media interview, on being asked if he's prepared to act in a Bollywood movie, Allu Arjun said: "In addition to Hindi, I am open to acting in movies of other languages. Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya Confident About Success Of 'Bangarraju'

Hyderabad, Jan 10 (IANS) The musical night event of Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya-starrer 'Bangarraju' was held in Hyderabad as the father-son duo sounded confident about the movie's success.## Nagarjuna, during his speech, revealed that the theatrical trailer of 'Bangarraju' will be launched on January 11, a couple of days before the movie hits the screens.## The 'Manmadhudu' actor also remembers January 14, the release date of 'Bangarraju', as an important day for Annapurna Studios, because it was founded on the same date.## As the movie is prepping up with the other release formalities, Nagarjuna said, "Bangarraju is a proper Sankranthi festival film. It can be enjoyed with your friends and family this Sankranthi season".## Naga Chaitanya thanked his team who had made it to the movie's release even during the pandemic. Producer Ashwini Dutt Reveals Release Date Plan Of Prabhas, Deepika Padukone's 'Project K'

Hyderabad, January 10 - Superstar Prabhas was all set for the big screen release of "Radhe Shyam" on January 14, however, the covid-19 third wave spoiled the party which left the makers with no choice but to postpone the release date of this Pan India biggie.## Prabhas, meanwhile, has a strong lineup of Pan India films that make him stand apart from his contemporaries. The "Saaho" star is currently shooting for director Nag Ashwin's sci-fi film "Project K" and director Prasanth Neel's "Salaar". He has also completed the shoot of magnum opus "Adipurush" under the direction of Om Raut. Both "Salaar", and "Adipurush" will be released in 2022 with "Radhe Shyam".## Meanwhile, producer Ashwini Dutt provides some interesting updates on "Project K", including its release date. The movie, which went on the floors last year, has already completed two schedules. Producer Dutt revealed that the third schedule will begin on January 28th and it will feature actress Deepika Padukone and legendary Amitabh Bachchan. ## Dubbed as futuristic sci-fi cinema, the makers are currently eyeing the April/May 2023 release date of "Project K", as revealed by Dutt. Speaking more about the release plans, Ashwini Dutt says that things are planned but with grim situations, the release date may get altered within one or two months but they will arrive in 2023. ## Dutt also spoke highly about Prabhas and calls him a Pan world actor. The producer revealed that Prabhas is the only Indian actor where Hollywood filmmakers have enquired about. Ram Charan Explains The Importance Of Big-Ticket Releases For Film Industry (IANS Interview)

Mumbai, Jan 9 (IANS) Telugu superstar and producer Ram Charan, whose upcoming release 'RRR' has been postponed till further notice, states that big releases play a vital role in regulating the economy of the film industry.## The big-budget films not only generate employment but also make sure that people working at the lower rung of the crew get paid well.## The actor recently spoke with IANS over the importance of star value for a film, the need for big-ticket releases, and the evolution of his working equation with filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli from 'Magadheera' to 'RRR'.## Elaborating on the hardwiring of star value with a film, the actor said, "The aspect of star value is only to bring the masses to the theatres. Telugu Actor Producer Ramesh Babu, Elder Brother Of Mahesh Babu, Dies At 56

Hyderabad, Jan 9 (IANS) Telugu film star Mahesh Babu's elder brother, actor-turned-producer Ramesh Babu, died on Saturday at the age of 56 after a prolonged illness.## The eldest son of the celebrated Telugu actor and former MP, Ghatamaneni Siva Rama Krishna, Ramesh Babu started acting from the age of 12 and went on to perform memorably in films such as 'Bazaar Rowdy' and 'Mugguru Kodukulu', but he eventually became a producer and will be remembered for 'Arjun' as well as the two comedy-dramas presented by him, 'Dookudu' and 'Aagadu'.## The mortal remains of Ramesh Babu were placed at the Padmalaya Studios on Sunday from 11 a.m. onwards for people to pay their final respects. The last rites will take place at Mahaprasthanam around 12 noon.## As the family shared the news of Ramesh Babu's death on social media late on Saturday night, several members of the Telugu film industry offered their condolences.## The press note from the family members of Ramesh Babu reads: "It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Ghattamaneni Ramesh Babu Garu. He will continue to live on in our hearts forever".## In view of the Covid surge, the family requested their well-wishers to adhere to the safety protocols and avoid gathering at the cremation venue.## Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi took to Twitter to share his grief: "Shocked and deeply saddened by the demise of Shri G.Ramesh Babu. Hyderabad, January 7 - Telugu superstar Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's "Pushpa - The Rise" has reached the magical figure of Rs. 300 crores at the worldwide box office. It becomes the first Indian film of 2021 to reach the milestone. Directed by Sukumar, "Pushpa - The Rise" was released worldwide on December 17 in multiple languages. It has grossed Rs. 268.45 crores in India over 3 weeks while its overseas collection stands at Rs. 32.8 crores, pushing its worldwide total to Rs. 301.25 crores. Hyderabad, Jan 6 (IANS) Tollywood hero Mahesh Babu has tested positive to Covid-19 on his return from his Christmas-New Year vacation overseas. The actor took to his social media on Thursday to post an update about his health condition.## In his brief social media post, Mahesh Babu tweeted: "To all my fans and well-wishers: Despite taking all the necessary precautions, I've tested positive for Covid-19 with mild symptoms".## The 'Prince of Tollywood' added: "I've isolated myself at home and have been following medical guidance".## He also requested all those who had come in contact with him in the recent days to get tested. 'Pushpa - The Rise' Continued Its Historic Box Office Run In Hindi In 3rd Week

Mumbai, January 7 - Allu Arjun's "Pushpa - The Rise" is scripting new records at the box office. The action-thriller, after putting a dominating performance in the first two weeks, continued its juggernaut in the 3rd week as well with a drop of just 10% from its 2nd week for an estimated Rs. 36.77 crores. ## The Hindi dubbed version of "Pushpa - The Rise" is undeniably standing tall amongst all other versions. In the 2nd week, the Hindi version of the film contributed approx 50% of the total 2nd-week collection while in the 3rd week, the Hindi contribution jumped to a massive 68%. The fact is, "Pushpa" Hindi was stronger in 3rd week than the first two weeks at the box office, despite the scare of covid-19 and tough restrictions on cinemas. ## The Hindi biz of "Pushpa - The Rise" is simply unimaginable. It has so far netted approx Rs. 72.31 crores, including Rs. 25.06 crores in the 3rd week, making it the 3rd biggest grosser of 2021 in Hindi after "Sooryavanshi", and "83". Looking at its strong legs at the box office, theaters are preffering this Sukumar-directed over "83" in Hindi belt and allowed more screens from the 3rd weekend onwards. ## Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, and Muttamsetty Media, "Pushpa - The Rise" is nearing Rs. 300 crores at the worldwide box office. In India, it has grossed Rs. 265.4 crores in the first three weeks, including Rs. 156.11 crores in the original Telugu version. It will be Allu Arjun's first Rs. 300 crores worldwide grosser of his career. ## "Pushpa - The Rise", meanwhile, has been made available on Amazon Prime Video from January 7 onwards in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions. The OTT platform and premiere date haven't been announced as it is still going strong at the box office. Hyderabad, Jan 7, 2022: Leading Food Aggregator App, Zomato has signed Icon Star Allu Arjun as it's Brand Ambassador. A commercial is being shot at a Star Hotel in Hyderabad. Director Krish who directed Allu Arjun in Vedam is wielding the megaphone for this commercial. ## Neha Shetty is seen alongside Bunny in this ad. The Brand will announce the association very soon at a grand gala event. The star is reportedly paid a hefty amount for this endorsement, we are told. Lyrics Of 'Acharya' Item Song Irk Rural Medical Practitioners

Hyderabad, Jan 6 (IANS) The third song from Chiranjeevi's 'Acharya', which was released a couple of days ago, has stirred controversy as it has irked a section of rural medical practitioners in Telangana.## Titled 'Saana Kashtam', the song became an instant chartbuster, but the lyrics of the song have irked the rural medical practitioners (RMPs).## The song has a line that goes like this - 'Ededo Nimurochani Kurrollu RMPlu avuthunnaru'. It means, "Teenage boys have started medical practice as RMP doctors just to grab the chance to touch me", which has evoked a negative reaction from the RMPs.## It is reported that the section of RMPs has decided to approach the courts to address this issue, while they have also requested the cops to take strict action against the lyricist and director.## They have demanded the removal of the objectionable lyrics from the song in 'Acharya'. The makers of the upcoming commercial drama 'Acharya' are yet to respond to the issue though.## 'Saana Kashtam' lyrics are penned by lyricist Bhaskarabhatla, which is crooned by Revanth and Geetha Madhuri. Amazon Prime Video Paid Lessor Than Expected Price For Early OTT Release Of 'Pushpa - The Rise'

Hyderabad, January 6 - Amazon Prime Video has had a great year as far as premiering Indian titles in 2021. Besides some of the most critically acclaimed small to mid-budget films, the streamer grabbed the attention for bagging direct-to-streaming rights of Suriya's "Jai Bhim", Vicky Kaushal's "Sardar Uddham", among others. ## Apart from earning direct-to-ott releases, Prime Video also bagged post-theatrical streaming rights of some of the big-budgeted films, including Thalalapthy Vijay's "Master", and the recent Telugu blockbuster "Pushpa - The Rise", starring superstar Allu Arjun. ## It was reported that Prime Video paid a whopping Rs. 45 crores for "Master's" early OTT release. "Master" was the first blockbuster of 2021, but was made available on Prime Video after only 16 days of its theatrical release. However, when it comes to OTT price for "Pushap", the sum is shockingly low than what people had expected, considering its blockbuster run at the box office in all languages. ## As announced by Prime Video, "Pushpa - The Rise" will premiere on its platform after 21 days of theatrical release from January 7 onwards in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. As per reports, the streamer had paid only Rs. 22 crores for its early digital release. ## "Master" didn't perform well in other languages apart from Tamil, and Telugu, while "Pushpa" is having a dream box office run in all versions. Even in Hindi, which is first for Allu Arjun, "Pushpa" has surpassed many outright Bollywood titles and becomes one of the biggest success stories in Hindi with a box office collection of Rs. 70 crores net. So compare to "Master", the OTT price for "Pushpa" isn't as high as it should have been. ## However, one can understand why the amount is low as the deal was done before the release of "Pushpa - The Rise", plus, no one had expected it to do extremely well in Hindi and other languages except Telugu. The makers, however, won't mind since this Sukumar-directed has exceeded their box office expectations as it is nearing Rs. 300 crores worldwide.
