However, the Telugu film industry did refrain from adopting this medium so early and it got a reward for showing courage by going for theatrical release. ## Ravi Teja starrer Krack, which was released on January 9, was the first Indian blockbuster movie during the covid-19 pandemic era. The movie released amid a lot of uncertainty and grossed over Rs. 60 crore worldwide and paved the way for others to follow. Now, actor Ravi Teja is gearing up for the release of his next, Khiladi. ## Khiladi was supposed to release on May 28, however, the second wave of the covid-19 hit makers' plan out of the park and forced them to postpone the release date. Though there are rumors that Khiladi will skip theatrical release and opt for an OTT release, director Ramesh Verma says that is not going to happen and they will wait for the theaters to open. Shooting Abroad For 'Thank You' As India Battled Covid Was Upsetting: Raashii Khanna

Hyderabad, May 28, 2021: South Indian actress Raashii Khanna said that it was upsetting for her to shoot for her Telugu movie, Thank You, in a foreign location at a time when India is battling the second wave of covid-19. The actress was shooting for the film in Milan, Italy and recently returned home. ## Speaking about her experience shooting for the film in Italy, Raashii said it was safe because people in the country very responsibly observed protocol. ## "We were in the middle of the pandemic and I was at first scared to go there (Italy). Once there, I realized people in Italy were very responsible for wearing masks even though the second wave had passed. Very few people were shooting with us in the crew and all precautions had been taken", Raashii told IANS. ## "While I was there, the second wave in India intensified and I was constantly reading about what was happening in India. It was upsetting. It felt bad that our country was suffering and we were away. Now we are back and we can't do much. It's a helpless situation. We shot for what we had gone for, but it was upsetting humanly. We were constantly thinking about what was happening back home", she added. ## Raashii, who made her debut in 2013 with Madras Cafe - her only Hindi movie to date, said that shooting in Italy for "Thank You" was challenging as there were restrictions on movement because they were Indian. Some of the locations were canceled as the growing pandemic situation in India went against them. ## "There were days when we were shooting for 18 hours a day because we didn't have a choice. It wasn't like pre-pandemic that you could shoot at luxury and anywhere you wanted to", the actress added. ## Thank You is a romantic comedy film that stars Naga Chaitanya in the male lead role. Pen Studios Announces Post-Theatrical Digital and Satellite Partners Of SS Rajamouli's RRR

Mumbai, May 26, 2021: SS Rajamouli's period drama film, RRR is getting bigger and bigger day by day. Pen Studios, which had acquired RRR's theatrical rights for the Hindi market along with electronic, digital, and satellite rights of all languages, has now announced post-theatrical digital and satellite partners of the film. ## RRR, which is scheduled to release on October 13 this year, will be releasing in a total of 10 languages including five international languages which include English, Portuguese, Korean, Turkish, and Spanish.## Netflix has begged the post-theatrical streaming rights for all five foreign languages along with the Hindi language streaming rights in India while ZEE5 will be the streaming partner for Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. ## RRR, being one of the biggest films of Indian cinema, is also expected to do wonders on its TV premiere. BA Raju, who was a senior film journalist, a publicist, and a producer in the Telugu film industry, died due to sudden fluctuations in diabetes and cardiac arrest on May 21st night in Hyderabad. ## Raju worked with top Telugu stars in his career spanning four decades. SS Rajamouli's Period Drama, RRR's Post Theatrical Release Digital And Satellite Rights Begs By Zee Group For A Record Price?

Hyderabad, May 21, 2021: Baahubali director, S.S. Rajamouli's upcoming magnum opus, "RRR", headed by Jr. NTR and Ram Charan is surely one of the highly awaited films of the year. The film is scheduled for October 13 release this year after getting delayed a few times due to the covid-19 pandemic. ## While the release of the film is still a few months away, the period drama film is already finding itself in media headlines for its pre-release activities. Being one of the biggest budgeted films and huge pan India demand, RRR has been the top priority of many streaming platforms for begging post-theatrical rights, including digital and satellite rights. But now, it seems the race of acquiring post-release rights of RRR has reached its conclusion. ## According to reports, leading corporate group, Zee Group has bagged the all-language post-release digital and satellite rights for a whopping 325 Crore and makes it the biggest deal in the history of Indian cinema. It is to be known that Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios had post-release satellite and digital rights for the Hindi market along with electronic for all languages, which has now reportadly been transferred to Zee group. Meanwhile, Pen Studios had also got the theatrical rights of RRR for Hindi, which is still with them. ## There was a buzz last year about the "RRR" team joining hands with Star Network for satellite and digital rights, however, after the current deal, Star is out of the race, and its Zee Group who has managed to grab gold with this prestigious project. ## RRR is a fictitious story based on two Legendary Telugu Freedom Fighters – Alluri Seetha Ramaraju and Komaram Bheem. Ram Charan's Film With Director Shankar Could Be Delayed

Hyderabad, May 18, 2021: In February this, actor Ram Charan had announced his collaboration with director Shankar Shanmugam, commonly known as Shankar. The movie is supposed to go on floors next month in June, but things have changed now due to the second wave of covid-19 and the legal tussle between the director and Lyca Productions. ## Besides Ram Charan's film, Shankar also has Kamal Haasan starrer "Indian 2" which is just 50% completed. Lyca Productions, which is producing Haasan's film, approached Madras High Court alleging that Shankar has taken up films in other languages, indicating Ram Charan's and Ranveer Singh's films, instead of completing Indian 2 as per schedule. ## Besides the legal suit, Lyca is also planning to approach the Telugu Film Producers Council and the film bodies in Bollywood to ensure that Shankar can't begin any other new film before wrapping up Indian 2. However, Shankar also submitted a counter-affidavit stating his reasons for the delay in making Indian 2. The Court has posted the proceedings to 4 June.## Meanwhile, Shankar had also announced the Hindi remake of his own directorial 2005 Tamil psychological action thriller, "Anniyan", with Ranveer Singh. With the Hindi remake of Anniyan, the director also found himself on the controversial side after Anniyan producer V Ravichandran claimed the copyright issues. ## Meanwhile, the court order on "Indian 2" will make way for RC15. Allu Arjun Starrer Pushpa To Have A Two-Part Release, Confirms The Producer

Hyderabad, May 13, 2021: From the last couple of weeks, there has been a buzz that Allu Arjun starrer upcoming mega budgeted film, Pushpa will release in two parts. Now, confirming the buzz, one of the producers of the film, Ravi Shankar said that it will indeed release in two parts with the second will release in 2022. ## According to producer Ravi, the decision to bring the movie in two parts was taken months back in November last year as the movie has a lot of spans that couldn't be narrated in just one part. Currently, the shoot of Pushpa has been put on hold due to the lockdown in the state. However, the producer confirmed that the first part has already been wrapped up, only a song and a couple of scenes are left to be canned for the first part. ## It is being said that the second part will be a continuation of the first one. Fahadh Faasil, who marks his Telugu debut with Pushpa, will reportadly make his entry during the climax of the first part. The makers have also ensured that the first part will be released by October or November this year, and the second will be released in quick succession in the first quarter of 2022. ## "So far we have finished 10 percent of Pushpa's second part. We are adding another song to the story as it has been split into two parts, the additional song is an item number. But we haven't yet decided on which heroine the song has to be shot", states the producer according to Spotboye.com. ## Directed by Sukumar, the second part promises to be on a different level compared to the first one, and it will be shot in some exotic locations that will be a visual feast. The movie also stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. ## Pushpa is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers in association with Muttamsetty Media. The music of the film is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, famously known as Rockstar DSP. RRR Movie Demands Respect From Its Technicians: Jr. NTR

Hyderabad, May 12, 2021: Baahubali director, S.S. Rajamouli's next, RRR, is the hottest anticipated film of the year. Rajamouli, who is known for bringing perfection to his work, is working on RRR since 2018, though there have been hurdles due to the covid-19 pandemic. ## While a little bit of shoot is still left, the movie, which stars two of the biggest names in Telugu cinema, N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan, is very much on track for October 13, 2021, release as scheduled amid the rumours of it getting postponed to the next year. ## In an interview with Deadline, Jr. NTR talks about the film and said that it could turn out to be the savior for the Indian cinema, which is gasping due to the pandemic. While talking about the film, NTR also talked about Rajamouli, who, as NTR referred, is a perfectionist and everything he makes must be nothing less than perfect. ## NTR also said that RRR, which revolves around two legendary Indian revolutionaries and their journey to fight for their country, is one such film that demanded respect from technicians for its scale and time being invested in it. ## "It has been a long journey, when you're dealing with Rajamouli that's how it's going to be. This man shot Baahubali for five years, across two parts. On RRR, we were stuck with the pandemic for about eight months, technically we shot for about nineteen months. This film demanded that kind of respect from its technicians. The action sequences are going to leave people flabbergasted. It needed that time to become a film as big as it was expected to be", the actor said to Deadline. ## When asked if the makers of RRR ever consider releasing the movie directly onto an OTT platform, NTR said that it is one of the films that need to be enjoyed as a community on a large screen, not on OTT platforms. He gave examples of Baahubali, Jurassic Park, and Avengers, which were made for the big screen experience. ## Meanwhile, apart from RRR, Jr. NTR will reunite with director Koratala Siva for NTR30, after the blockbuster Janatha Garage. The movie is scheduled to release on 29 April 2022. He also revealed that he will join K.G.F. director Prashanth Neel for NTR31.
