Robert Pattinson To Team Up With Oscar-Winning Director Bong Joon Ho For Sci-Fi Movie

Los Angeles, January 20 - British actor Robert Pattinson is all set to team up with Oscar-winning director, Bong Joon Ho. The star actor, who is gearing up for the release of "The Batman" on March 4, will be leading Bong's sci-fi film for Warner Bros.## According to THR, Bong Hoon Jo will write and direct this yet-untitled film, based on 'Mickey7', a forthcoming novel by author Edward Ashton. He will also produce via his Offscreen with Dooho Choi for Kate Street Picture Company and Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B. Peter Dodd will oversee the studio.## 'Mickey7' is described as Andy Wier's The Martian meets Blake Crouch's, Dark Matter. It centers on Mickey7, a man on an expedition to colonize the ice world Niflheim. This expendable employee takes jobs too risky for anyone else, and when he dies, he regenerates as a clone with most of his memories intact.## When Mickey7 is presumed dead, he returns to the mission's base only to see that a new clone, Mickey8, has taken his place. The book will be published in the first quarter of this year by St. Martin, an imprint of Macmillan.## Bong Hoon Jo's last directorial, the Korean film "Parasite" had won four awards at the 92nd Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Feature Film, becoming the first non-English language film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, January 20 - Warner Bros. Pictures is all set to release its big-ticket most anticipated superhero film "The Batman" in theaters on March 4, 2022. Starring Robert Pattinson as Caped Crusader, is touted to be the finest film in the franchise. ## As the release date of "The Batman" gets closer, fans can't hold on to their excitement to watch Pattinson for the first time in the "Batman" suit. Meanwhile, the theatrical run time of the film has reportedly been revealed which makes it the longest film in the franchise and one of the longest superhero movies of all time. ## According to the Comicbook, a new listing on the IMAX Melbourne website suggests the current runtime for Matt Reeves' "The Batman" is 175 minutes, meaning fans will get two hours and 55 minutes of Robert Pattinson's take on Bruce Wayne on the most popular mythos in all of comic book history.## As it stands now, Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" is currently the longest Batman movie at two hours and 45 minutes. "The Dark Knight" clocks in at two hours and 32 minutes while "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" carries a similar runtime.## Excluding the director's cut (Zack Snyder's Justice League), "The Batman" to be the second-longest superhero film after Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Endgame", which clocked 181 minutes of the non-stop thrill. "Zack Snyder's Justice League", which was released on HBO Max, had a run-time of 242 minutes.## "The Batman" is slated to release on March 4, 2022. Daniel Radcliffe To Play 'Weird Al' Yankovic In Biopic Movie

Los Angeles, Jan 19 (IANS) Actor Daniel Radcliffe is set to star as Grammy-winning musician 'Weird Al' Yankovic in the Roku original movie 'Weird: The Al Yankovic Story'.## The film is Roku's first original biopic and will be available to stream exclusively on The Roku Channel. The project is produced by Funny Or Die and Tango. 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' Becomes The Highest-Grossing Film Of All Time In Mexico

Mumbai, January 18 - Marvel/Sony Pictures' "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is setting new benchmarks at the domestic as well as the international box office. The superhero movie is heading towards a $1 billion overseas box office, that too without a single penny from China. ## The Tom Holland-fronted film has so far grossed $926.3 million through 63 international markets and over $700 million domestically (North America), pushing global cume to $1.62 billion. It is currently the 8th highest-grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office and will grab the 6th spot in the list by the end of next weekend.## Meanwhile, "No Way Home" has become the highest-grossing film of all time in Mexico with $72 million. In Brazil, it is the second highest-grossing film ever with $50.4 million, so in Central America ($12.6M) and Ecuador ($7.9M).## In North America, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" becomes the 4th highest-grossing film ever. After the end of the 5th weekend, it was the 5th biggest-grosser there with $698.7 million and became 4th biggest on Monday by crossing Marvel Studios' "Black Panther" ($700.06 million). ## The Jon Watts-directed is likely to finish with $1.75 billion globally. The number could go higher if it gets a release date in China, which is the biggest movie market in the world. However, the movie has done its job and whatever comes further is a bonus. Oscar Isaac Is Marvel's Newest Superhero With 'Moon Knight'

Los Angeles, Jan 18 (IANS) Marvel Studios has unveiled the first trailer for its Disney Plus series 'Moon Knight' and it has a new superhero played by actor Oscar Isaac.## The teaser was unveiled on Monday night, officially launching the 2022 slate for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reports variety.com.## In 'Moon Knight' premiering on March 30, Isaac plays Marc Spector, a former soldier with a profound case of dissociative identity disorder that manifests as fully distinct individuals. He becomes the conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, which only further exacerbates Marc's anxiety over his mental illness.## In the trailer, set to Kid Cudi's 'Day an' Night', Marc can't tell the difference between his normal life and his dreams. He plays with a Rubik's cube, unable to fall asleep, only to jump out of bed in a panic with his foot chained to his bed, though he seemingly forgets he was the one who restrained himself the night before. After visiting a museum in ancient Egypt, he sees a vision of Khonshu and later meets Ethan Hawke's villain, a cult leader who encourages Marc to embrace the darkness within himself.## The trailer ends with Marc being enveloped by the Moon Knight costume and a shot of him brutally beating someone up on a bathroom floor.## Unlike all of Marvel Studios' previous series for Disney Plus, which were based on existing characters from the company's pre-2019 feature films, 'Moon Knight' charts a brand new path, with a totally new set of characters and a storyline that has no clear initial connection to the MCU.## Making his Marvel comics debut in 1975, Moon Knight initially had superpowers based on the phases of the moon, but more recent iterations have kept his abilities mortal, aided by sophisticated gadgetry.## That has drawn comics fans to compare the character to the DC Comics superhero Batman.## 'Moon Knight' co-stars Hawke and May Calamawy, while Jeremy Slater serves as creator and head writer, with Mohamed Diab and the team of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead directing.## The show inaugurates Marvel Studios' second year delivering TV series for Disney Plus alongside its feature films. Indian American R&B Singer Raveena Releases Bollywood-Inspired Track

New York, Jan 16 (IANS) New York-based R&B singer Raveena Aurora, who got the attention of the music industry with her debut album 'Lucid' (2019), has released what V Magazine calls an "upbeat track (that) merges Bollywood influences with psychedelic imagery".## Taking to Twitter to share her excitement over the music video shoot for 'Rush', which is what the new track is called, Raveena commented: "I really felt like a real-life Bollywood princess in this music video shoot".## 'Lucid', incidentally, was named one of the best albums of 2019 by the music staff of NPR, America's public radio broadcasting corporation.## "I wrote 'Rush' a couple of years back and the song was the genesis of me exploring a more intense marriage between Bollywood sounds and the pop/R&B music that I grew up on in America," the singer, who was born and raised in Queens, said in a statement.## According to V Magazine, "'Rush' marries Raveena's delicate vocals with thumping, Indian-inspired production".## Accompanying the newly-released song is a music video that sees the singer take on the persona of Asha, a Punjabi space princess. V Magazine describes the "must-watch" video as "glorious" and "hypnotizing".## "The song and video are centered around a character I created named Asha, a Punjabi space princess," the singer, a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, explained in her statement. Slasher Movie 'Scream' Ends Four-Week Reign Of 'Spider-Man'

Los Angeles, Jan 16 (IANS) Even as most other theatrical releases continue to struggle because of the Omicron wave, the latest horror movie, 'Scream', is making a sizable impression at the North American box office, showing yet again that audiences in the U.S., especially the younger demographic, are in love with the horror genre.## With an opening weekend that should finally dethrone 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' after the Marvel entry's four-week perch on top of the earnings totem pole, 'Scream' is the new box-office No. 1.## The fifth installment in the horror franchise, and the first in over a decade, grossed $13.35 million on Friday from 3,664 locations, reports 'Variety'. Paramount Pictures projects the horror film should rake in $36 million over the four-day Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend, more than enough to land at No. 1 for the weekend.## The thrifty 'requel' only cost $25 million to produce, a number that the release should easily rocket past before the weekend is out, according to 'Variety'. Not too shabby for a January release unleashed on the moviegoing public amid a colossal spike of Covid-19 and its more transmissible Omicron variant.## 'Scream' is evidence that audiences will still roll out to theatres during the pandemic, especially films targeting a demographic of younger viewers.## Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett direct 'Scream', taking over the series from its founder Wes Craven, who helmed the four first entries before passing away in 2015, reports 'Variety'. 'Black Panther' Sequel Is On Track For Scheduled Release Despite Delayed Production

Los Angeles, January 15 - Marvel Studios' highly anticipated sequel to "Black Panther" is on track for the scheduled release in November 2022, despite the delayed production. The production of the film got halted due to the injury of British actress, Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri in the film. ## On Friday, Letitia resumed shooting for "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", almost five months after being injured when a stunt went wrong. At the time of injury in August 2021, it looked she would be resuming work soon but the recovery took longer than the expected time which led to the postponement of the production in November. ## Wright's Princess of Wakanda character is expected to play a bigger part in the blockbuster's sequel. The late Chadwick Boseman led the 2018 film and his role has not been re-cast following his death in 2020. ## While the release dates of 2022 Marvel Movies were already postponed due to the production changes, it was reported that "Black Panther 2" could be further delayed due to Letitia's injury. However, this is not the case as production resumed on schedule and the movie is also very much on track for its 11 November 2022 release. ## Wright's spokesperson told BBC News, "Filming resumed this month as planned and we're on schedule".## "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is one of the most anticipated films coming in 2022. The original "Black Panther" was a major hit on both, critically and commercially front. Limited Re-Release To Mark 'The Godfather' 50th Anniversary

Peter Dinklage: Don't Try To Recreate 'Game of Thrones'

Los Angeles, Jan 10 (IANS) Actor Peter Dinklage, who played the part of Tyrion Lannister in the hit TV series "Game of Thrones", has warned HBO about the potential pitfalls facing the makers of 'House of the Dragon', the upcoming prequel show.## The 52-year-old actor explained: "I think the trick is not to try to recreate 'Thrones'. If you try to recreate it, that feels like a money grab.
