Shamshera Set For The Widest Bollywood Release Post Pandemic

Mumbai, July 21 - Yash Raj Films' one of the biggest films yet, Ranbir Kapoor-fronted "Shamshera" is getting ready for worldwide release tomorrow (July 22nd) in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, also in IMAX. The period action drama film, directed by Karan Malhotra, will have the widest release for a Bollywood movie during the entire covid-19 pandemic. It will be released on over 5500 screens worldwide, including over 4300 screens in India. Yash Raj Films will itself release the movie across India and overseas. Among the international markets, the movie will be released on 1200 screens. Mumbai, July 21 - One of the busiest actresses in Bollywood, Kriti Sanon has reportedly landed another big film and is set to feature alongside Shahid Kapoor in producer Dinesh Vijan's next. ## It was recently reported that Shahid and Dinesh are teaming up for the first time for a unique love story and now, the makers have roped in Kriti to romance the "Kabir Singh" actor. It will be Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's first film together and this is already looking like a very exciting on-screen pair. ## Kriti has completed the paperwork and the announcement of the movie with its lead pair will be made very soon. "It's a unique love story that called for a fresh casting, and that's when the team unanimously decided on bringing Shahid and Kriti together for the first time. Ranbir Kapoor's 'Shamshera' Opening Day Box Office Prediction

Mumbai, July 21 - Ranbir Kapoor returns to the big screen after more than 4 years with Yash Raj Films' Shamshera. The Karan Malhotra-directed period action drama film will be hitting worldwide theaters tomorrow (July 22) in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, also in IMAX. ## Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani's biographical comedy-drama "Sanju", which was a huge blockbuster at the box office, so the expectations from his upcoming movie are high and should be. The advance booking of the same was opened on July 17 as there was a good buzz for the movie. ## The initial advance booking response for "Shamshera" was decent and at the same time, was better than most of this year's Bollywood movies. However, after that initial promise, the advance booking hasn't picked up as per the wish of the makers as the pre-sales collection of the movie is around 3.50 crores gross only. It might still reach 5 crores before the first show starts. ## The trade experts have been projecting the film to open around 20 crores, which is not looking to happen at this point in time. Taking the advance booking into the account, the movie is tracking to open around 11-12 crores net. However, looking at the subject of the movie which is promising to be a mass entertainer, which often leads to a good spot booking, the movie has a fair chance to take the opening of 15-16 crores. ## Ranbir's last film, "Sanju" opened to a huge 34+ crores, but the scenario was different at that time. This time around, the opening of 15+ crores for "Shamshera" will be considered good and if word of mouth is positive, then the opening weekend has a shot for 55+ crores. The trailer and other promos have left a positive impact on the audiences and this should lead to good footfalls in cinemas. ## In 2022, the biggest opening for a Bollywood movie belongs to Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu's "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2", which opened to 14.11 crores net in May. "Shamshera" is clearly looking to challenge this record and if this happens, then YRF has a winner in its hands. The movie also stars Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist Shuddh Singh and Vaani Kapoor as the female lead among others. ## The story of Shamshera is set in the fictitious city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved, and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian general Shudh Singh. This is the story of a man who became a slave, a slave who became a leader, and then a legend for his tribe. He relentlessly fights for his tribe's freedom and dignity. His name is Shamshera. 7 Years of Salman Khan's All-Time Blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan

Mumbai, July 17 - Exactly 7 years ago on this date, Bajrangi Bhaijaan was released in the cinemas and went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters ever and one of the greatest films ever made. Bajrangi Bhaijaan starred superstar Salman Khan as a titular character who was the reigning box office god of that time, and with Bajrangi Bhaijaan, his stardom reached a pinnacle that was never seen before by any star. His run from Dabangg to Bajrangi Bhaijaan had witnessed 7 blockbusters in 8 films with Jai Ho being the only exception.## Bajrangi Bhaijaan was directed by Kabir Khan who earlier directed Salman Khan in a blockbuster espionage-thriller "Ek Tha Tiger". Both "Ek Tha Tiger" and "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" remain the only blockbusters in the repertoire of Kabir Khan. ## Released on 17th July 2015, Bajrangi Bhaijaan had a pre-eid release but still, the film opened to a packed house across the nation. Bajrangi Bhaijaan broke every initial record being a social-drama genre is the credit to the star power of Salman Khan. In the final lifetime collections, Bajrangi Bhaijaan fell a little short of breaking PK's record of 340cr but Bajrangi Bhaijaan sold more tickets (footfalls) than PK making it a bigger hit. It was the 2nd biggest hit of the last decade after Dangal which sold 3.69cr tickets as far as Hindi films are concerned and overall Bajrangi Bhaijaan was the 3rd biggest hit in the Hindi belts after Baahubali2 and Dangal.## Bajrangi Bhaijaan was also released in China and saw an unprecedented success thereby collecting almost 500cr collections there. The worldwide total of the film was just a little short of the prestigious 1000cr club. To date, only Dangal, Baahubali2, RRR, and KGF2 have clocked more than 1000cr worldwide business but most of them are recent releases and if you adjust the worldwide footfalls of Bajrangi Bhaijaan with today's ticket prices then the value of the film will be more than 1100-1200crs. ## There have been very few films in the history of the Hindi cinema which broke box office records and stood by the taste of the time which is a definition of a classic film patronized by a huge section of audiences and Bajrangi Bhaijaan is one such great example of that. Filmmaker Vijayendra Prasad Gives Major Update on Salman Khan-Fronted 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2'

Mumbai, July 17 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan announced the sequel to his cult classic blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan last year though the details were not disclosed then. Vijayendra Prasad, who wrote the first part, has been working on the sequel as well, and now, he has provided a major update on this highly-anticipated sequel. ## During a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the filmmaker said that he has locked the basic idea of the sequel and it will be the continuation of the first part. The sequel, which is titled Pawan Putra Bhaijaan, will take place 10 years after the first part and it might start rolling out next year. ## "I have narrated the story outline to Bhai and he has loved it. Now the ball is in his court to decide on timelines. The story takes an 8 to 10-year leap in Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2. I am hopeful that the sequel will be no lesser than the first part", he said. ## Vijayendra Prasad also revealed that he got the basic idea about the "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" movie from Megastar Chiranjeevi's "Pasivadi Pranam". One of Vijayendra Prasad's associates suggested he should make a movie in which our hero goes to Pakistan and bashes them. He said he improvised the script as the intention was to make a film that doesn't increase the animosity between the two countries but decreases it.## Salman Khan is currently shooting for Farhad Samji-directed "Bhaijaan". After wrapping up this action comedy, Salman will move on to another much-anticipated sequel of "No Entry" from January 2023. Ali Abbas Zafar To Co-Produce and Direct Hindi Remake of 'The Transporter'

Mumbai, July 16 - A few weeks ago, it was reported that filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar has acquired the Hindi remake rights of Jason Statham-fronted Hollywood actioner The Transporter (2002). And now, as per the latest reports, Ali will also direct this big-budget flick. ## It is said that Ali has been wanting to make the Hindi remake of this English-language French action thriller and bought the rights from EuropaCorp some two months ago. Apart from directing the movie, Ali will co-produce it with Vishal Rana and a big studio is expected to collaborate as well, according to ETimes. ## The original starred Jason Statham as Frank Martin, a driver for hire—a mercenary "transporter" who will deliver anything, anywhere, no questions asked—for the right price. It also starred Shu Qi as Lai Kwai.## Ali Zafar is currently busy with the pre-production work of "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan" starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. It will go on floors in January next year. Once Ali is done with BMCM, he will start working on "The Transporter" and is likely to bring a young actor to play the lead role. ## Meanwhile, the filmmaker already has a film with Shahid Kapoor ready to release. It is an action thriller, tentatively titled "Bloody Daddy", and marks Shahid and Ali's maiden collaboration.
