He is not only catching eyeballs for his larger-than-life roles but is also quite famous on social media. One such example of his ever-rising stardom is that he is the only actor from Kollywood to reach 10 million followers on Twitter. ## The Asuran actor on Sunday crossed the 10 million marks on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, which is the highest for any actor from the Tamil film industry. Madras High Court Comes Down Hard On Actor Vijay And Fined Rs. 1 Lakh For Seeking Tax Exemption For His Rolls Royce Ghost

Chennai, July 13, 2021: The Madras High Court has slammed Tamil superstar Vijay for seeking tax exemption for his Rolls Royce Ghost, which he bought in 2012 in England. Dismissing a writ petition filed by actor Joseph Vijay in 2012, the HC also slapped a fine of ₹1 lakh to be paid by him to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund.## Justice S.M. Subramaniam came down heavily on the actor and said that his fans consider him a real hero in Tamil Nadu. Thus, the actors should behave accordingly and not reel heroes. The HC also criticized Mr. Vijay for not having even disclosed his occupation in the affidavit filed in support of his case.## "It is surprising to note that the petitioner has not even stated his profession or occupation in his affidavit. He has imported a prestigious costly car from England but unfortunately, not paid entry tax as per the statutes. He has filed a writ petition to avoid payment of tax... The petitioner, who is a reputed cine actor, is expected to pay the tax promptly and punctually", the judge said.## "In the State of Tamil Nadu, cine heroes have risen as rulers of the State and therefore, the people are under the impression that they are real heroes. Thus, they are not expected to behave like reel heroes. Tax evasion is to be construed as an anti-national habit, attitude and mindset and unconstitutional", he added.## "The common men are motivated and encouraged to behave as lawful citizens and pay tax and to thrive hard to achieve social justice in the society. If the rich, affluent and reputed persons fail to pay the tax as applicable, then this Court with pain, records that it would be a long way to achieve the constitutional goals", the court obesereved. ## Meanwhile, on the work front, Vijay is currently shooting for his next film titled "Beast" with director Nelson Dilipkumar. National Award-Winning Cinematographer Girish Gangadharan On Board For Kamal Haasan's Vikram

Chennai, July 3, 2021: After the months-long wait, the makers of the Tamil film, Vikram, dropped an update on the film. Lokesh Kanagaraj, who will be helming this Kamal Haasan starrer, took to social media and announced acclaimed Cinematographer, Girish Gangadharan on board. Girish Gangadharan has cranked the camera for Thalapathy Vijay's Sarkar (2018), which marked his debut in Tamil, along with the 2019 Malayalam film, Jallikkattu, among others. Girish won the National Film Award for Best Cinematography for Jallikkattu, which was selected as the Indian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. Vikram will be Girish's second Tamil film and first with both Kamal Haasan and director Lokesh. The makers of the film have already completed almost 90% of the shoot while the last schedule is currently underway in Hyderabad. Now, according to the latest buzz in Kollywood, the first look of Dhanush from his 43rd film could be released on his birthday on July 28. Malavika Mohanan is playing the female lead opposite Dhanush in the film. The film is being produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. Dhanush landed in Hyderabad on June 30 after wrapping up his Hollywood debut film, The Gray Man, in the US. It is being directed by Avengers directors Russo Brothers. Chennai, June 29, 2021: Actor Sivakarthikeyan's medical action film, Doctor, has been a talk of the town for a long time now. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial is ready for release since the last year, however, due to the covid-19 pandemic, it kept getting postponed. The movie was all set to hit theaters on March 26, 2021, however, due to the elections in Tamil Nadu, makers again postponed the release indefinitely. ## While the makers had a chance to release the "Doctor" in March this year before they announced the postponement, the second covid-19 wave made sure their wait gets longer if they still want theatrical release. As of June 2021, there are still no signs of releasing the movie anytime soon. However, there are a lot of rumors that have started making noise regarding the medium "Doctor" will release on. ## Recently, the producer of the film, KJR Studios had announced that the film will get the right release when things become normal. Ever since it has been speculated that Doctor has been sold to Disney+Hostar for direct-to-digital release in 4 South Indian languages. However, there is no official confirmation yet from the makers of the film. ## On the other hand, as per the latest buzz in Kollywood, the movie is still very much in line to get a theatrical release. While Disney Plus indeed approached the "Doctor" team to grab the streaming rights, it has also been said that the streaming giant also wanted the satellite rights to be given to Vijay TV. But KJR Studios had already inked a deal with Sun TV for the TV premiere, so things didn't go as per plan. ## And now, if there is anything to go by the buzz, Doctor will be hitting theaters on August 14 or 15 this year. The movie opened with highly positive reviews and easily one of the most viewed films of 2021 on Amazon Prime Video. Ajith Kumar Receives Bomb Threat, Hoax Caller Identified

Chennai, June 3, 2021: Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar received a bomb threat call on May 31, however, it turned out to be a hoax, and the Chennai police has identified the hoax caller. ## According to reports, the threat call was made to the Chennai city police control room, in which the caller said a bomb has been planted at the actor's house in the city's Injambakkam area. The Police rushed to the actor's house but no bomb found after searching till late at night. ## Cops soon started an investigation and traced the caller named Dinesh, a mentally ill person who lives in the Marakkanam town of the state. Media reports also suggest that Dinesh was involved in making similar calls in the past to actors such as Rajinikanth and Vijay.## This is not the first time Thala Ajith received such threats. The actor had received such a call for the first time in 2014 which turned out to be false. Again in 2017, he had received a similar bomb threat that had caused. Last year in July too, he had received a threat call and police took immediate action in the case.
