Mumbai, February 8 - The mega blockbuster Chinese animated sequel Ne Zha 2 has done the unthinkable and entered uncharted box office territory by becoming the first film ever to score a $1 billion gross collection at the China box office. ## The direct sequel to the 2019 film Ne Zha, Ne Zha 2's running gross collection is $989+ million (RMB 7.2 billion) as of 9 PM local China time on its 11th day (Saturday). The film is likely to enter the $1 billion club at the end of the day and by the first hour of its 12th day, second Sunday. ## Before unlocking the billion club at the China box office, Ne Zha 2 scripted history on Saturday by becoming the highest-grossing movie ever in a single market, beating the Hollywood blockbuster 2015's Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens which grossed $936.7 million in North America. ## Ne Zha 2 has been running riot since its opening during the Chinese New Year weekend on January 29. Earlier, it set the single-film box office record for the Lunar New Year in China box office history and also outgrossed The Battle at Lake Changjin (RMB 5.77 billion) in just 9 days to become the biggest grosser in China. ## The film's lifetime box office projection has been on the rise with its sensational day-wise trend. Mumbai, February 8 - Maddock Films' historical action drama Chhaava is one of the most-awaited Bollywood films. Starring Vicky Kaushal in the title role alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna, the movie is directed by Laxman Utekar. ## Chhaava is scheduled to be released on February 14 and on Saturday (February 8), the makers announced that it would also be released in IMAX format. Mumbai, February 8 - Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane's Sanam Teri Kasam, which failed to score much in its original run, has created a stir at the box office upon its re-release on February 7. It was surprisingly the number 1 movie this Friday despite a couple of new re-releases.## Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the heartbreaking romantic drama stunned the trade with its opening as the film scored approximately 4.25-4.50 crores net collection, which is nearly 50% of its total original run box office collection and easily the biggest for a Bollywood re-release title. ## Originally released 9 years ago in 2016, Sanam Teri Kasam ended up as a big disappointment, scoring approximately 9 crores net collection in its lifetime run. Over the years, the movie deservingly got the recognition due to the immense repeat value on television and has earned a cult status for the same.## The word of mouth for the movie has been positive, thanks to the huge viewership on television and the same is reflecting its re-release collection. If it maintains a strong grip over the weekend and beyond, the film will have a very good chance of turning its original box office verdict which needs to be seen. ## Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan's one of the greatest sci-fi adventure films Interstellar was re-released in Indian cinemas for a limited period in 2D and IMAX format. The movie had very good pre-sales for the weekend and as expected, it has taken a very good start at the box office. ## On its first day of re-release, the film scored approximately 2.25-2.50 crores net collection which is one of the biggest openings for a re-release title in India. Kochi, February 8 - Malayalam megastar Mammootty's highly-awaited action thriller film Bazooka has officially been postponed from Valentine's Day release. The film is directed by Deeno Dennis in his directorial debut and produced by Yoodlee Films and Theatre of Dreams.## Bazooka was supposed to hit the big screen on February 14 but due to some reasons, best known to the makers, it has been pushed back to April 10, during the Vishu festival weekend. Hyderabad, February 7 - Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi's romantic action thriller Thandel has taken a fantastic start at the domestic box office, justifying the pre-release hype for the movie, directed by Chandoo Mondeti. ## The film is looking to score the career-best opening for Naga Chaitanya as early estimates suggest the collection to be in the range of 11-12 crores gross. The previous biggest grosser for the actor was Love Story which minted around 10.50 crores gross on its first day. ## The initial word of mouth for Thandel looks on the positive side and the pre-sales for the remaining weekend are good. It is looking to score 30+ crores gross collection in its opening weekend which will be a good collection.## There was Himesh Reshmiya's comedy action drama which opened to better-than-expected numbers as early estimates suggest 2.50-3 crores net opening day. Chennai, February 7 - After the good opening day, superstar Ajith Kumar's action thriller Vidaamuyarchi is seeing a big drop on its second day at the domestic box office, which was somewhat expected due to the mixed word of mouth. ## Vidaamuyarchi took the second biggest opening for the actor in Tamil Nadu with approximately 25 crores gross, however, the movie is seeing a drop of around 60% on Friday as early estimates suggest the collection to be in the range of 8-10 crores gross in the state. ## The drop is universal as the rest of the states have a similar kind of response as the overall second day of the movie is expected to gross 10-12 crores, dropping over 60% from the opening day of 31.75 crores gross. South Indian movies tend to drop after the first day, but here, the drop is higher than expected which is concerning. ## Word of mouth is not in favour of the film so the onus will be on the stardom of Ajith Kumar to finish to opening weekend on high good collection on Saturday and Sunday with decent pre-sales. Los Angeles, February 7 - The first teaser trailer of Marvel Studios' highly-awaited The Fantastic Four: First Steps received an amazing 202 million views in the first 24 hours across all social media platforms, according to Deadline. ## The response to the trailer is one of the best for Marvel Studios or any other studio titles in recent times. According to Disney (via THR), the trailer launch in Alabama drew the most views ever for a Marvel YouTube live-stream, in addition to becoming the No. 1 trending video on YouTube. ## Among the top 10 most-watched Marvel movie's teaser/trailers on the first day, The Fantastic Four: First Steps ranks 6th in the list. Deadline reports that it is the best-viewed first trailer of a Marvel Studio title after Deadpool & Wolverine (365M) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (355M).## Directed by Matt Shakman, The First Steps is one of the most anticipated movies of the year as fans have waited years for the studio to make a film starring Marvel's First Family, as the team is known. The last film in the Fantastic Four series was released in 2015. ## It movie is the 4th and the second reboot of the Fantastic Four film series. The previous three Fantastic Four movies for Fox grossed more than $803M at the global box office. Chennai, February 6 - Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar's much-awaited action thriller film Vidaamuyarchi was released at the box office today amid high expectations. The movie was also released in the dubbed version of Telugu as Pattudala. ## While the expectations were high, it received a mixed reception from the audience. However, the movie has done well at the box office as it is looking to score 22-24 crores in Tamil Nadu, as per estimates. Depending on how the offline shows perform, the final figure can go higher in the state. ## Apart from Tamil Nadu, the film is expected to score 6-7 crores gross collection in the rest of the domestic market for a total domestic gross in the range of 28+ crores on its first day. The opening of the movie can be called good, as word of mouth is not that great. ## The advance booking of Vidaamuyarchi for the rest of the weekend is good. Mumbai, February 5 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's iconic action-packed entertainer Main Hoon Na is getting a sequel with director Farah Khan returning to the helm the second part. The film was released in April 2004 and completed 20 years last year. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Farah Khan is working on a script that could serve as a perfect sequel to Main Hoon Na, which was the first film produced by SRK under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment.## The report states that Farah Khan wants to make the sequel with SRK. She has cracked the idea for Main Hoon Na 2, which the superstar loved. The filmmaker is currently working to crack the screenplay with her team of writers at Red Chillies. SRK is waiting to see the final script before taking the call. ## "SRK is clear to not make a sequel just for the sake of it and is well aware of the fan following that Main Hoon Na has among the cinema-going audience. He has asked Farah and his in-house team of writers to honestly work on the screenplay and come up with something that surpasses the impact of the first part", says the report.## If things go as planned, it will mark SRK's fourth collaboration with Farah Khan after Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year. The original movie also starred Sushmita Sen, Suniel Shetty, Amrita Rao, Zayed Khan, and Kirron Kher, among others. ## Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up to start action entertainer King with director Sidharth Anand.
