Hyderabad, January 12 - Telugu veteran Nandamuri Balakrishna's action drama Daaku Maharaaj is off to a flying start at the domestic box office. The film records the second biggest opening for the actor who is expected to complete the hat-trick of successes with the latest one. ## Directed by Bobby Kolli, Daaku Maharaaj started on a fantastic note in the morning shows, and thanks to the initial positive reception, the occupancies kept increasing throughout the day. The movie already had a positive buzz which led to good pre-sales before the fantastic opening. ## According to the early estimates, Daaku Maharaj is expected to gross 21-23+ crores on its first day in Telugu states, making it the second biggest start for NBK on the home turf. The overall first-day collection is expected to be in the range of 25-27 crores gross which is excellent. ## The initial word of mouth, as said, is positive and in all likelihood, it will remain the number 1 choice of moviegoers during the Sankranti weekend. Hyderabad, January 12 - Superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer has an underwhelming first weekend at the domestic box office where the movie failed to score any growth on Sunday owing to stiff competition and mixed to negative word of mouth. ## According to the early estimates, Game Changer has minted a disappointing around 8 crore gross in Telugu states on Sunday, dropping around 35% from Saturday. In other Southern states, the movie has scored an estimated 3 crore gross. ## The Hindi version is holding well, owing to the better audience reception, and is proving to be the only saving grace for the movie so far. On Sunday, the dubbed version is witnessing a slight jump to collect an estimated 7.50-8 crores net collection. ## Overall, Game Changer is expected to gross 20-21 crores on Sunday with a drop of around 20%. The total domestic collection has crossed 100 crores gross at around 106+ crores. Kochi, January 12 - Unni Mukundan's action thriller Marco is in the last leg of its box office run but running out of time, it has done what no other A-rated Malayalam film did in the past as it has become the first adult-rated Mollywood title to to 100 crores at the worldwide box office. ## Touted as India's most violent film, Marco was released on December 20, ahead of the Christmas weekend in 2024. It opened to rave reviews from critics and audiences alike which led to a rampage at the box office and ended the year, what was remarkable Mollywood on the whole, on high. ## On its 24th day (4th Sunday), the Haneef Adeni-directed blockbuster stormed past the 100 crores mark at the worldwide box office. In India, the film has grossed approximately 68.50 crores while the overseas collection is around 32 crores for a global total of 100.50+ crores in 24 days. ## Marco is the 6th Malayalam film of 2024 and 9th of all-time to surpass the 100 crores gross mark worldwide. Chennai, January 12 - Superstar Rajinikanth and director Nelson Dilipkumar teamed up for the first time for the action thriller Jailer which shattered records at the box office and was one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of 2023 with over 600 crores gross collection worldwide. ## A few months after the film's magical box office performance, director Nelson hinted that he was working on its sequel and wrapping up the script for the same. The news delighted the fans who are now awaiting official confirmation from the production studio, Sun Pictures. ## Well, the wait is finally coming to an end and the announcement of Jailer is around the corner. Hyderabad, January 11 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer, which was released on January 10, took a good start at the domestic box office with over 60 crores gross considering the mixed word of mouth, though it failed to meet the expectations. ## On its second day (first Saturday), the Shankar's directorial venture is witnessing a drop of over 50% which is a bit harsh even by the standards of any big Telugu film which tend to drop after the opening day. The word-of-mouth effect can be seen in day 2's collection, especially in South Indian states. ## According to the early estimates, GC is expected to gross around 13-15 crores in Telugu states, dropping over 60% from the opening day. In Karnataka, the film also dropped by around 50% for an estimated 2.25 crores gross, while in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, it is expected to gross around 2-2.25 crores on the second day. ## The Hindi version of the film surprised on the first day and it remained the best-performing on Saturday with little to no drop as it minted around 7-7.50 crores net on day 2. Overall, Game Changer is expected to gross in the range of 25-28 crores on Saturday, pushing the total domestic gross to around 86+ crores in 2 days. ## The film has a big couple of days over the Sankranthi festival to score at the box office. Mumbai, January 11 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor is awaiting the release of the action thriller Deva, which is scheduled to hit the big screen on January 31st. As the fans are eager to see what Deva has in store, the Kabir Singh star is busy finalizing his next few projects. ## Shahid has already commenced shooting for his next which is with director Vishal Bhardwaj. The actor will also be reuniting with Maddock Films for the sequel to Cocktail, and according to the latest reports, he is setting up a film with Atlee who will be producing it. ## It is said that Shahid and Atlee will collaborate on an action entertainer which will be directed by one of Atlee's associates. The duo has reportedly been in talks for the last few months and things are on the verge of getting locked. Unlike Atlee's production Baby John, the movie with Shahid will be an original story.## Atlee has himself developed the story with his associates before initiating talks with Shahid. Subject to the official confirmation, it can be Shahid's next after Cocktail 2 which is expected to start rolling by May this year. ## Atlee, meanwhile, is gearing up to announce his next directorial after mega-blockbuster Jawaan. Mumbai, January 11 - Christopher Nolan's epic sci-fi drama Interstellar is finally re-releasing In Indian cinemas after a delay of a couple of months due to Pushpa 2 - The Rule's nationwide dominance. ## Interstellar was supposed to be re-released in December last year with the US release to mark its 10th anniversary, but the makers had to postpone it as it didn't get enough IMAX screens in India. With Pushpa 2 slowing down, the Hollywood blockbuster gets a date. ## On Friday, January 10, Warner Bros. India took to social media to confirm that Interstellar would be re-released in India on February 7 in the original language and IMAX. It has seemingly been the most demanded Hollywood re-release in the country and the audience finally gets to experience this epic. ## Set in a dystopian future where Earth is suffering from catastrophic blight and famine, the film follows a group of astronauts who travel through a wormhole near Saturn in search of a new home for mankind. It stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, and Michael Caine in key roles.## The stars are aligning again! Hyderabad, January 10 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer has taken a good opening at the domestic box office and surprises in the Hindi version with a better-than-expected start.## The movie scored decent pre-sales and the star power of Ram Charan and his combination with director Shankar made sure it converted to a good start, especially in Telugu states. Despite the mixed reception, the film managed to take the biggest solo opening for RC in all major areas. ## According to the early estimates, Game Changer is expected to gross around 45-50 crores in Telugu states which is a very good start. The previous biggest solo opening of RC in AP/TG was Vinaya Vidheya Rama which grossed around 33 crores back in 2019. ## In Karnataka, GC is estimated to gross 4-5 crores, followed by around 2.50 crores gross in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The Hindi version of the film turns out to be a surprise package as it scored an estimated around 7 crore net which is the biggest for RC other than RRR. ## The overall domestic opening of the film is expected to be in the range of 60-65 crores gross. These are good figures which could have been even stronger if word of mouth was positive. The movie has a huge added advantage of the Sankranthi festival which is expected to boost the collection in the next few days. ## It will be interesting to see how the Hindi version proceeds as word of mouth seems to be better in the North belt than in South Indian states. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, January 10 - More than a decade after creating magic with Aashiqui 2, the trio of actors Aditya Roy Kapur, Shraddha Kapoor and director Mohit Suri is reportedly reuniting for a new romantic drama film. ## Aashiqui 2 is considered one of the finest Bollywood romantic films which made Shraddha and Aditya an overnight sensation. Since then, the fans have been eager to see the duo together again in a Mohit Suri film and the stars seem to be aligning finally. ## According to the report by Filmfare, "The final details of the project are being worked out, but Aditya and Shraddha are very eager to sign the dotted line. Mohit and his creative team are working out the story and screenplay. We can expect an official announcement in the next few weeks". ## Aditya and Shraddha, meanwhile, also headlined Ok Jaanu (2017) together while they have separately starred in Suri's films like Ek Villain, Half Girlfriend, and Malang after Aashiqui 2.
