Mumbai, January 10 - Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's 2013 blockbuster romantic-comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has had a superb first-week collection at the domestic box office upon its re-release on January 3rd.## Directed by Ayan Mukerji, YJHD opened with approximately 1.15 crores net collection and followed it with a good jump on Saturday and Sunday to score around 2.25 crores and 3 crores net collection, respectively for 6.40 crores net opening weekend.## The movie remained rock solid during the weekdays and minted approximately 6 crores net from Monday to Thursday for around 12.50 crores net, which is the second biggest first week for a Bollywood re-release after Tumbbad which scored 13.15 crores net last year. ## The superb first-week re-release collection of YJHD has helped it to enter the 200 crores club. In its original run, the film earned 188.60 crores net. With this, it has become the 43rd Hindi film to cross double century. It is the 4th film of Ranbir Kapoor and 5th for Deepika Padukone to achieve the feat. ## YJHD is showing a very good trend and is sure to do well during the Sankranthi weekend. Mumbai, January 10 - Superstar Allu Arjun is on cloud nine after the monstrous success of Pushpa 2 - The Rule which has grossed over 1700 crores at the worldwide box office. Mumbai, January 9 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is gearing up for another busy year with multiple films of his lined up for release in 2025. The actor is working on some of the most-anticipated Bollywood films and one of them is the third instalment of the iconic comedy entertainer franchise Welcome. ## Directed by Farhad Samji, Welcome To The Jungle has been in production since last year and as per the latest update, 75% of the total shoot has been completed and the remaining portions are expected to be wrapped by June this year. According to the report by Pinkvilla, Welcome 3 is heading for a Christmas 2025 release. ## The report states that the team has locked a nearly 2-hour edit of the entire footage shot to date and the stakeholders are extremely happy with everything that they have seen on the edit table so far. The film involves heavy VFX and the same is happening at a brisk pace for the already shot portions. ## The Christmas 2025 release of Welcome 3 will put it in an intense clash at the box office as Yash Raj Films' spy action thriller Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh is already slated for a December 25 release. Additionally, there is James Cameron's Avatar 3 on December 19 and it is likely to make a massive dent in domestic releases. ## Apart from the aforementioned films, superstar Yash's Toxic is also eyeing a December 2025 release, though the exact date is not locked yet. Furthermore, there is Maddock Films' supernatural comedy Shakti Shalini, starring Kiara Advani on December 31. ## However, one can expect a shift in the release dates of the aforementioned films as it is not a wise move to bring these many films during a single holiday frame from a business point of view. Bengaluru, January 9 - After scripting history 3 years ago with KGF: Chapter 2, Kannada superstar Yash will return to the big screen with gangster action drama Toxic - A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, directed by national award-winning director Geetu Mohandas. ## Produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic is currently being wrapped and is expected to be released in December this year. Meanwhile, the makers of the film treated fans with the first look glimpse on the occasion of Yash's birthday on January 8. ## While the first look glimpse didn't reveal much about the plot, it has helped raise the buzz after the blockbuster response on social media. The look of Yash, which is very similar to his widely popular Rocky Bhai in KGF, and the background music have increased expectations. ## On YouTube, the blockbuster Glimpse scored a huge 36+ million views in the first 24 hours which is said to be the highest for an Indian film first Look Glimpse on a single channel. The previous highest was Pushpa 2 which generated 27.65 million views for the Hindi version. ## Toxic is said to be based on the backdrop of a drug mafia in Goa. Hyderabad, January 9 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan teamed up with maverick director S. Shankar for the first time for a political action thriller Game Changer. Produced by Dil Raju, the movie also stars Kiara Advani and SJ Suryah in prominent roles. ## Game Changer is one of the most anticipated movies, and as expected, it has scored fantastic pre-release theatrical business in all major areas. According to the trade report, the Game Changer theatrical business in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) has been valued at 122 crore. ## The 122 crore AP-TG business includes approximately 43 crores in the Nizam area. The film will need to score around 225 crores gross collection to break even in the home states. Apart from AP/TG, Game Changer's business in Karnataka is valued at around 14 crore, followed by 15 crore in Tamil Nadu and around 2 crore in Kerala. The movie has been locked at around 42 crore in the Hindi belt. ## The overseas business is done at 25 crores, and worldwide theatrical rights are valued at around 220 crores. Game Changer will need to score around 221+ crores worldwide share or around 425+ crores gross collection in order to break even and emerge as a box office hit.## GC will have to become Ram Charan's highest-grossing solo film by more than double margin to emerge as a success. Mumbai, January 8 - Producer Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films recently announced 8 new films in the blockbuster horror-comedy universe with 2 films each till 2028. The line-up begins in 2025 with Thama and Shakti Shalini. Both films will be released in the last quarter of the year. ## While Thama is being headlined by Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, the latest report by Peepingmoon.com has revealed that Kiara Advani will lead Shakti Shalini which is a female-centric blockbuster. It is a supernatural comedy in which Kiara will play the titular role. ## The report further states that Punjabi-born director Ajitpal Singh, who has helmed the TV series Tabbar, will be directing Shakti Shalini. He is known for crafting intense and emotionally driven narratives which makes him an interesting choice for Shakti Shalini. ## Scheduled to be released on December 31, 2025, the shoot of Shakti Shalini is expected to commence in April/May. Mumbai, January 8 - Superstar Rajinikanth's action drama Coolie is nearing the shoot completion with 70% of filming already completed. The remaining shoot will be done this month in the next schedule, which is planned from January 13 to January 28. ## Directed by Lokesh Kanagraj, Coolie is easily one of the most anticipated Indian movies of 2025 with blockbuster talent attached to it. Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is playing a vital cameo in the movie which reunites him with Rajinikanth after nearly 3 decades. ## Meanwhile, the fans are eagerly waiting for the release date as Coolie was announced for the summer of 2025 debut. However, there is a change in plan as according to the latest Tamil media reports, the film will now be released in August during the Independence Day weekend. ## If the reports turn true, then Coolie will clash with Yash Raj Films' War 2 which is already confirmed for an August 14 release. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, the spy action thriller is one of the hugely-awaited films of the year. ## Both Coolie and War 2 have the potential to wreak havoc at the box office in multiple languages given the cast and crew they involve. Mumbai, January 8 - After getting postponed from October 2024, the beloved Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama, the anime adaptation of Valmiki's timeless epic, is coming to Indian theatres this Republic Day weekend, more than two decades after it was first released in the early 90s.## On Wednesday (January 8), it was announced that the timeless epic will be hitting Indian cinemas on January 24, 2025, in Hindi, English, Telugu, and Tamil. Legendary writer V Vijayendra Prasad has provided his creative vision to the Indian language dubs. ## The Legend of Prince Rama will be distributed across India by Geek Pictures India, AA Films and Excel Entertainment. It was co-directed by Koichi Sasaki, Ram Mohan, and Yugo Sako, and is a joint Japanese and Indian production venture. ## It is a Japanese-Indian animated film that retells the classic Indian epic, the Ramayana. Co-produced by Japan's Yugo Sako and India's Ram Mohan, the story follows Prince Rama, the incarnation of the god Vishnu, who embarks on a journey to rescue his wife Sita, kidnapped by the demon king Ravana.## The trailer will be released on January 10. ## The wait is over! Hyderabad, January 7 - Telugu film producer Naga Vamsi came under heavy criticism from Bollywood filmmakers for his comment about Hindi films catering to Bandra and Juhu audiences. His remarks were seen as an insult to the Hindi film industry which has delivered many big blockbusters in recent times. ## After enduring sharp criticism, the Daaku Maharaaj producer has clarified the issue and said in a recent interview with Telugu360 that he never intended to disrespect Bollywood or veteran filmmaker Boney Kapoor with whom he indulged in an argument during the recent roundtable interaction. ## Naga Vamsi explained that his remarks stemmed from pride in the achievements of the South Indian film industry, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.
