Mumbai, November 16 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn, who made his directorial debut in 2008 with U Me Aur Hum, has announced his 5th directorial venture which will be headlined by none other than Akshay Kumar. The project was officially confirmed Hindustan Times Summit on Saturday. ## The yet-untitled project is currently in the scripting stage. It is also not clear whether Ajay Devgn will act alongside Akshay just like his previous four directorial features. The shooting details are also under wraps for now. ## Ajay Devgn, the director is known for his technical brilliance and his film with Akshay is keenly awaited. Chennai, November 16 - In a dramatic turn of events, actress Nayanthara has slammed actor Dhanush in an open letter to him. The controversy erupted when Dhanush denied permission to use the footage of his production venture Naanum Rowdy Dhaan (2015) in Nayanthara's upcoming Netflix docuseries, Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale. ## In a lengthy note to the actor, Nayanthara accused Dhanush of demanding a 10 crore sum for using a mere 3 seconds of a video clip from the movie in the documentary. The actress said in the note that she and her team gave up the idea of using the clips of the film since Dhanush denied giving NOC despite several requests. ## "After two long years of battling it out with you for an NOC (No Objection Certificate) and waiting for your approval for our Netflix documentary release, we finally decided to give up, re-edit and settle for the current version since you declined to permit the usage of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan songs or visual cuts, even the photographs to say the least despite multiple requests", Nayanthara said in the letter.## The actress also seemingly character-shamed Dhanush by alleging that he is not the person he portrays to be on the stage in the audio launches in front of his fans. Chennai, November 16 - Sivakarthikeyan's mega-blockbuster Amaran has unlocked one more milestone as it has become the second Tamil movie of 2024 to top 200 crores gross collection at the domestic box office after Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All-Time. ## The movie, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, crossed the milestone on its 16th day after grossing another 4+ crores on the day. The total domestic collection after the third Friday stands at approximately 202 crores gross (175+ crores net). ## Amaran is expected to score a 100% jump on Saturday and then have another big day on Sunday as the third weekend is probably heading for around 20 crores gross which will take the total domestic collation to around 218+ crores gross.## Overseas, the biographical action drama has so far grossed an estimated 75 crores in 16 days and the movie has a chance to top 300 crores gross worldwide by the third Sunday. Chennai, November 16 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja which scored a huge commercial and critical acclaim earlier this year, is set to hit Chinese theatres later this month. The movie is directed by Nithilan Saminathan and produced by The Route, Think Studios, and Passion Studios. ## Maharaja was released in June this year and five months later, director Nithilan confirmed on social media that it would be released in China on November 29 by Alibaba Group. The cast of the movie also includes Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, and Natty Natraj in important roles. ## It is the 50th movie of Vijay Sethupathi and it emerged to be his biggest grosser with a worldwide collection of approximately 106 crores. Some of the Indian films have done wonders in China and Maharaja clicks with the audiences, it can reap rich rewards at the box office. ## The film follows Maharaja (Sethupathi), a barber in Chennai, who goes to the police station to retrieve his stolen dustbin only for the police officers to find his intentions to be something else. Mumbai, November 16 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor was roped in to headline Pooja Entertainment's mega-budgeted epic Ashwatthama: The Saga Continues. Kannada director Sachin B. Ravi of Avane Srimannarayana fame was on board to direct the film. ## Since the announcement, the film, however, has faced delays and challenges and now, according to the report by Mid-Day, the project has been put on hold indefinitely due to budgetary constraints. It is said that the movie was planned to be made for 500 crores but it was escalating as pre-production advanced. ## The report quoted an insider saying that the project's scale was enormous and was supposed to be shot across multiple countries. However, after they started working on it, the makers felt it was a massive challenge to make it within the planned budget.## Pooja Entertainment, on the other hand, has reportedly been in a financial crisis with back-to-back major box office flops and considering all these things, the team led to a decision to pause production until these issues could be resolved.## Shahid Kapoor, on the other hand, has reportedly moved on from this ambitious project and has started preparation for Vishal Bhardwaj's action thriller film. The actor also has OMG 2 director Amit Rai's historical action drama based on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Chennai, November 15 - Tamil star Suriya's big-budget fantasy entertainer Kanguva might be starting to feel the heat of negative word of mouth as the collection on its second day/first Friday dropped by over 50% from the record Thursday opening for the actor. ## It was going to be tough for the film to come close to the opening day numbers as word of mouth was poor and that came into effect on its second day only. According to early estimates, the movie is expected to gross in the range of 4-4.50 crores in Tamil Nadu on its second day, which is a drop of around 60%. ## The movie is witnessing a similar drop in Telugu states for an estimated 2.25-2.50 crores gross while in Kerala, the collection dropped massively for an estimated 75 lakh (-80%) and in Karnataka, the movie has minted around 75 lakh, again a heavy drop. ## Kanguva has a decent day in the Hindi belt though the drop is still there for an estimated 3+ crores gross as all India second-day estimates suggest the collection in the range of 10.50-11.50 crores gross, pushing the total to around 39 crores gross after 2 days domestically.## The film has a big Saturday and Sunday to make a mark as it looks like it will struggle big time beyond the weekend. Mumbai, November 15 - Ajay Devgn is teaming up with Mission Mangal director Jagan Shakti for an action-adventure film. The yet-untitled movie will be produced by Luv Ranjan who reunites with the actor after De De Pyaar De and its upcoming sequel.## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, the yet-untitled film is a book adaptation. It is said that the movie is based on Aseem Arora and Richa Ganesh's 2018 book, Ranger. Set against the backdrop of Bandhavgarh's sprawling wilderness, the book follows Ranger Singh, a rookie forest officer, stepping into a world rife with corruption, neglect, and an alarming tiger crisis.## Aseem Arora is adapting the book himself, however, the movie does not entirely adhere to the original material, as the makers are opting for an Indiana Jones-style narrative to make it more commercially appealing, as per Peepingmoon.com. ## Director Jagan Shakti intends to mount the movie on a massive scale with a promise to deliver a top-notch cinematic experience for the audience. The pre-production for the film has already commenced and is going on at a brisk pace as the makers are aiming to take the film on floors by January 2025. ## Ajay will start Jagan's film after completing Son of Sardar 2 which is expected to be wrapped soon. As for the release, the actor is fresh from the box office success of Singham Again which is currently playing in theaters in its third week. Mumbai, November 15 - Back in 2020, Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor was announced to headline the supernatural fantasy thriller Naagin trilogy. Vishal Furia was on board to direct the film with Nikhil Dwivedi as producer. ## However, after the announcement, the development of the project didn't take place and it was seemingly put on the backburner. Much delight to the fans, the much-awaited trilogy is back on track after 4 years of announcement and is set to go floors by 2025. ## During a recent interaction with India Today, producer Nikhil Dwivedi shared that the script took three years and was redone thrice. Talking about Shraddha's casting, the producer said that she was always the first choice and when she heard about the idea, the actress jumped at it. ## The filmmaker further said that they are expected to take the movie on floors by 2025 and release it in 2026. Hyderabad, November 15 - After back-to-back three box office hits, Telugu veteran Nandamuri Balakrishna teamed with director Bobby Kolli for his 109th film. Sithara Entertainment and Fortune Four Cinemas produce the film with Srikara Studios. ## On Friday (November 15), the makers unveiled the first-look title glimpse of NBK 109, giving fans a sneak peek into the movie. As reported earlier, the film has been titled Daaku Maharaj. The exact plot details are still unclear, but the teaser hints at a period drama, giving a fierce look at NBK as Daaku Maharaj.## The action-packed promo also revealed the first look of Bobby Deol who is reportedly playing the villain role.
