Hyderabad, May 20 - In a surprising turn of events, Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts announce that the shooting of Telugu superstar Jr. NTR's highly-awaited film with director Prashanth Neel will commence in August this year. ## Currently called NTR 31, the action drama film has reportedly been titled Dragon and it marks Jr. NTR's maidan collaboration with Prashanth Neel who last directed superstar Prabhas-fronted Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire. ## It was assumed that the filming of Dragon would kickstart only after Neel gets done with Salaar 2 which is reportedly starting in a couple of weeks. Also starring Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, the movie is scheduled to release on October 10, 2024, in multiple languages. ## After Devara, the RRR star will be seen in director Ayan Mukerji's hugely anticipated Pan India spy actioner War 2, co-starring Hrithik Roshan in the returning role of RAW agent Kabir. Mumbai, May 20 - Disney's science fiction action film Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes has topped $200 million at the worldwide box office. Directed by Wes Ball, the film showed a solid hold in the domestic and overseas markets in the second weekend which pushed the collection past $200 million.## At the domestic box office, the stand-alone sequel to War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) crossed $100 million and currently stands at $101.2 million (845 crores) after the second weekend. Overseas, the movie showed a much better hold and added another $40.6 million to its tally for $136.3 million (1135 crores), pushing the worldwide total to $237.5 million (1980 crores). ## Made on a budget of $160 million, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is projected to finish its box office run at around $400 million worldwide, which would be less than War for the Planet of the Apes ($490 million) which was made on a budget of $150 million. ## Meanwhile, at the Indian box office, Kingdom has been decent with approximately 27.75 crores gross collection in 10 days. Chennai, May 19 - Legendary superstar Kamal Haasan's vigilante action Indian 2 will be hitting worldwide cinemas on July 12, 2024, in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, the makers have officially confirmed the new date. ## Directed by S. Shankar, Indian 2 was supposed to be released in June but has now been postponed due to the delay in post-production work. It is the sequel to Haasan and Shankar's Indian (1996) which was a huge blockbuster at the box office. ## The new release date of Indian 2 comes with the announcement of the first single which will be out on May 22. It is an Anirudh musical and is expected to set the stage for the film leading to its release date in July. ## Produced by Lyca Productions, the movie stars Kamal Haasan reprising his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption and has an ensemble supporting cast including Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, S. Mumbai, May 18 - The trailer of Kartik Aaryan-fronted biographical sports drama Chandu Champion was launched on May 18 at the actor's hometown Gwalior, and it looks like an outright winner from every shot. ## Directed by Kabir Khan, Chandu Champion will show Kartik Aaryan playing the character of India's first Paralympic gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar, a man who faced one adversary after another with an undying spirit.## The trailer shows Kartik going from a young man to a soldier, a boxer and ultimately a survivor as it deep dives into the life of the character across various stages. Kochi, May 18 - After taking the opening of 8 crores gross at the worldwide box office, Prithviraj Sukumarana and Basil Joseph's Guruvayoorambala Nadayil witnessed a solid jump on its second day in the domestic and overseas markets. ## Directed by Vipin Das, Guruvayoorambala Nadayil scored approximately 9.50+ crores gross worldwide on its second day, pushing the total collection to close to 18 crores gross. In India, the movie has minted approximately 8.65 crores gross while overseas collection is an estimated 9 crores. ## In the home state Kerala, the comedy-drama has so far grossed approximately 7.40 crores, followed by 65 lakh in Karnataka, 30 lakh in Tamil Nadu and 30 lakh in the rest of the domestic market in two days. Mumbai, May 18 - Tom Hardy-led superhero film Venom - The Last Dance is set to bring curtains to the three-part franchise, Sony Motion Pictures Group chairman Tom Rothman confirmed to the Deadline. ## Directed by Kelly Marcel, Venom 3 is intended to be the fifth film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU) and the sequel to Venom (2018) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021). It will conclude the Venom franchise which Tom Rothman believes is going to be huge. ## Venom 3 was more or less confirmed to be the final movie in the franchise when the title was announced last year and the mixed success of Sony's Spider-Man Universe is also reportedly a major reason for the studio to move on from the SSU. ## Meanwhile, the first two Venom films were box office successes despite the mixed reviews. The first movie was a big success with over $850 million worldwide while the second film, Venom: Let There Be Carnage made over $500 million during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mumbai, May 18 - Bollywood stars Sidharth Malhotra and Kriti Sanon are reportedly in talks to headline a romantic film for Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films. If this happens, it will be the first time when the duo will star together in a film. ## According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Sidharth Malhotra was recently spotted in the Maddock office sparking rumours of an upcoming film with Kriti Sanon. However, nothing has been confirmed yet regarding this collaboration. ## Sidharth was last seen in the action thriller Yodha while Kriti was featured in the romantic comedy Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. Kochi, May 17 - Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph's comedy-drama Guruvayoorambala Nadayil scored the fourth biggest opening at the worldwide box office for a Malayalam movie of 2024 with over 8 crores gross collection. ## The Vipin Das's directorial movie grossed approximately 8.15 crores, including approximately 4.40 crores gross in India and 3.75 crores gross overseas collection. It is the second biggest opening for Prithviraj Sukumaran's career, behind Aadujeevitham which was released earlier this year. ## The opening of 8.15 crores gross of Guruvayoorambala Nadayil is the 4th biggest for a Malayalam title of 2024, behind Aadujeevitham (16 crores), Malaikottai Vaaliban (12.15 crores), and Aavesham (10.50 crores). The two of the three aforementioned films (except Vaaliban) went on to gross over 150 crores worldwide and are one of the biggest Malayalam blockbusters.## The word of mouth for Guruvayoorambala Nadayil is super positive and it is already coming into effect on the second with superb hold all over.
