Los Angeles, May 7 - Disney is set to reduce the number of Marvel movies to two and shows to three per year to avoid the overdose of entertainment. Disney CEO Bob Iger said (via Variety) that the studio is going to reduce MCU output per year to focus on quality. ## "We're slowly going to decrease volume and go to probably about two TV series a year instead of what had become four and reduce our film output from maybe four a year to two, or a maximum of three. And we're working hard on what that path is", the Disney CEO said during the company's quarterly earnings call Tuesday.## Iger said that the studio is extremely excited about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, be it movies or shows. After having a poor last year with a couple of big flops (a rarity for Marvel) in the form of Ant-Man 3 and The Marvels, the studio is gearing up for the exciting next few years. ## As of now, Marvel Studios has 4 films slated for 2025 release - "Captain America: Brave New World", "Thunderbolts", "The Fantastic Four", and "Blade", and four more Marvel movies slated for 2026, including the fifth "Avengers” movie. ## In 2024, Marvel is releasing just "Deadpool and Wolverine", which is probably the most hyped MCU title in recent times. Mumbai, May 7 - The third instalment of the comedy courtroom drama Jolly LLB reunites Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar, who headlined the first and the second film, respectively. The movie, directed by Subhash Kapoor, recently commenced filming and it will be hitting the big screens in 2025. ## According to the latest reports, Huma Qureshi has joined the cast of Jolly LLB 3. Huma portrayed the character of Pushpa Mishra in the 2017 film Jolly LLB 2 opposite Akshay Kumar and now, she has come on board the third instalment to reprise her role. ## Jolly LLB 3 is said to be a situational comedy set against the backdrop of the Indian Judiciary System. It's essentially a fight between the two Jollys, Akshay Kumar & Arshad Warsi with Saurabh Shukla also returning to reprise his role as the judge. ## The shoot commenced in Ajmer, Rajasthan and Akshay Kumar recently shared a video to announce the movie. Kochi, May 7 - At a time when the Malayalam film industry is flourishing at the box office and is in the best shape for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, the filmmakers are still not able to do full justice to the theatrical business by keeping short window between theatrical and OTT release, including the box office blockbusters.## Fahadh Faasil's action comedy Aavesham has grossed close to 150 crores worldwide. While the movie is still going strong at the box office the makers have already locked a May 9 date for its streaming debut, just 28 days after the theatrical release. ## The movie will be streaming via Amazon Prime Video while it is still showing no sign of slowing down at the box office. The early digital release may cut short Aavesham's full box office potential, leaving another few crores on the table. ## Aavesham is the 4th highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time at the worldwide box office after Manjummel Boys, 2018, and Aadujeevitham. Mumbai, May 6 - SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster RRR is coming to the big screens again to rescue theatres amid the absence of notable new releases. Starring Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan, RRR is produced by DVV Entertainment. ## On Monday (May 6), Pen Movies which distributed the film in Hindi, announced that RRR will be re-released on May 10, 2024. It will be re-released in the original Telugu language along with the dubbed Hindi version. ## RRR was originally released in March 2022 and was one of the highest-grossing Indian films at the worldwide box office with over 1200 crores gross. Chennai, May 6 - Tamil star Dhanush's second directorial venture Raayan which also features him in the leading role, has been announced to hit the big screens in June this year. The action thriller is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. ## Raayan has officially been confirmed to be released in June. While the exact date is yet to be announced, the movie is likely to hit the screens on June 13/14 after Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 was reportedly postponed to July. ## Meanwhile, the makers also announced that the first song from the movie, which has been composed by AR Rahman, will be arriving on May 9. Kochi, May 6 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's long-awaited fantasy film Barroz has announced Onam 2024 release. Directed and headlined by Mohanlal, the movie is based on the novel Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure by Jijo Punnoose. ## On Monday (May 6), Mohanlal took to social media to announce that Barroz will be hitting worldwide theatres on September 12, 2024, on the occasion of the Onam festival. It will be the actor's next release since Malaikottai Vaaliban in January this year. ## Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, Barroz has been in the making since 2021. The movie was initially planned for a March 2023 release before it was postponed to Onam 2023. However, due to the delay in the post-production work, it was again postponed to March 2024, and now, the makers have announced a September 2024 release. ## In the movie, Barroz, a treasure guardian (played by Mohanlal) has been protecting Vasco da Gama's hidden treasure for 400 years and has been entrusted to hand over the wealth only to a true descendant of da Gama. Chennai, May 6 - Aranmanai 4 scored a very good opening weekend at the domestic box office with superb occupancy across Tamil Nadu state which saw it crossing the lifetime domestic total of Lal Salaam in which superstar Rajinikanth played the extended role. ## Directed by Sundar C, the horror comedy minted approximately 22 crores gross in India, including 20 crores in Tamil and 2 crores in Telugu in the first three-day weekend. Lal Salaam had grossed approximately 21 crores in its entire run. In Tamil Nadu, the movie has minted approximately 18.25 crores gross.## The opening weekend of 22 crores of Aranmanai 4 is the second biggest for a Tamil movie domestically, behind only Dhanush's Captain Miller which grossed approximately 27.60 crores in the first 3 days. With this, it has become the third highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 in India in its original run. ## The film is the fourth installment in the Aranmanai film series which kicked off in 2014. Mumbai, May 6 - Actor Abhishek Bachchan has been confirmed on board Housefull 5, co-starring Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh in the leading roles. The film marks the reunion of the trio after Housefull 3 (2016), directed by Sajid-Farhad. ## Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the fifth instalment of the blockbuster comedy franchise from producer Sajid Nadiadwala is one of the most anticipated films in the making. The film will be made on a budget of over 300 crores and the shoot for the same will kick-start in the UK in August 2024. ## It is said that a major part of the film will be shot inside a lavish cruise over a 45-day first schedule. Kochi, May 6 - Fahadh Faasil's action comedy film Aavesham is nearing becoming the 4th Malayalam movie of all-time and second of 2024 to top 100 crores gross collection at the domestic box office after crossing 90 crores gross mark in its 4th weekend. ## The Jithu Madhavan's directorial venture grossed an estimated 6.35 crores in its 4th weekend which pushed its total domestic collection to around 92.50+ crores gross in 25 days. The movie dropped around 50% from 3rd weekend due to the new release but is expected to gain strength again as the week progresses. ## Aavesham is expected to enter the 100 crores gross club during the 5th weekend in India which will make it only the 4th Mollywood title after Pulimurugan, 2018, and Manjummel Boys to achieve the feat. Except for Pulimurugan, the other 100 crores grosser have been released in the last 12 months which is already termed as a golden period for the industry. ## At the worldwide box office, Aavesham is nearing the 150 crores mark and it will reach the milestone in the next couple of days. Mumbai, May 6 - Kunal Khemu's directorial debut Madgaon Express still has something left in it to bring laughter at the box office as the comedy entertainer is kind of having a rebound at the low level domestically.## Produced by Excel Entertainment, Madgaon Express, which once looked like would finish under 25 crores net, is now looking at 35+ crores and might get close to the 40 crores mark. In its 7th weekend, the movie minted approximately 1.30 crores net which is more or less similar to Akshay Kumar's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan's 4th weekend collection. ## The movie didn't show any drop from the 6th weekend as the total collection of Divyenndu, Pratik Gandhi, and Avinash Tiwary-starrer entertainer is approximately 33.80 crores net (40.25 crores gross) in 45 days. Worldwide, the movie has minted approximately 43.75 crores gross to date. ## The heavy underperformance of Eid releases and other films has benefitted Madgaon Express continues to thrive at the box office. Chennai, May 5 - Horror-comedy Aranmanai 4 is set to change the fortune of the Tamil film industry which has had an underwhelming year so far at the box office. The movie took the second-biggest opening for a Tamil title this year and has strengthened its position with the big jump on the second day. ## Directed by Sundar C, Aranmanai 4 witnessed a jump of around 43% on its second day to score approximately 7.65 crores gross collection, pushing total collection to around 13 crores in two days at the domestic box office. In Tamil Nadu, the movie has minted around 10.25 crores gross. ## The Tamil version of the film has alone minted approximately 11.75 crores while the Telugu version has grossed 1.25 crores gross. The opening weekend of Aranmanai 4 is now looking to be over 20 crores gross which will be the second biggest for Tamil in 2024. ## The last couple of weeks have been good for Kollywood with the re-release of Thalapathy Vijay's sports action drama Ghilli which has grossed over 25 crores domestically so far, and now, the Tamannah and Raashii Khanna-starrer Aranmanai 4 is doing well. ## Stay tuned...
