Mumbai, January 20 - Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's A-rated action drama Animal, after debuting on December 1, 2023, proved to be one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time, grossing over 900 crores at the worldwide box office. ## Animal is currently in its 8th week and its theatrical run coming close to an end. The post-theatrical streaming rights of the film were bagged by Netflix, and as per the latest reports, Animal will be released on January 26 on the streamer in Hindi along with the dubbed versions of Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil languages. ## As reported earlier, Animal is expected to stream on Netflix with an extended runtime of around 3 hours and 30 minutes, which is 8-9 minutes extra from its theatrical runtime. Sandeep Reddy Vanga confirmed the same in one of the recent interviews. ## The movie is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, and Murad Khetani under T-Series, Bhadrakali Pictures, and Cine1 Studios. Mumbai, January 17 - Netflix has been on an announcement spree regarding the post-theatrical streaming slate of South Indian films. The streamer recently announced several Telugu films which will stream on its platform after their theatrical run and now, it has announced Tamil titles. ## One of the biggest Tamil films to stream on Netflix after its theatrical release is superstar Ajith Kumar's VidaaMuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Lyca Productions. The theatrical release of the film is yet to be announced but it is expected to release either Diwali this year or Sankranthi 2025. It will stream in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. ## Netflix also has Lyca's Indian 2, starring legendary Kamal Haasan and directed by Shankar. A sequel to the 1996 blockbuster "Indian", it is easily one of the Tamil films of the year, scheduled to release during summer. It will be available to stream on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, post its theatrical release. ## Chiyaan Vikram's period action drama Thangalaan, directed by directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by Studio Green, is also grabbed by Netflix. The movie is announced for theatrical release in April 2024. Sony Pictures International Production's debut in Tamil cinema, tentatively titled SK21, also produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, is also part of the Netflix lineup. ## Among the other films, Vijay Sethupathi's Maharaja directed by Nithilan Saminathan along with Keerthy Suresh-led Passion Film Factory and The Route's Revolver Rita directed by K. Chandru, Dream Warrior Pictures’ Kannivedi, SNS Productions' Sorgavaasal, and AGS Entertainment's Conjuring Kannappan is also part of Netflix's line-up. ## The unreleased films will debut on Netflix after their theatrical releases. Hyderabad, January 15 - Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of some of the biggest Telugu Pan-Indian films in 2024 and beyond. The streamer has been putting efforts to make a mark in the Indian digital space and its upcoming South Indian slate is the first major push. ## The biggest film Netflix has acquired is the upcoming Pan India movie Pushpa - The Rule. Starring superstar Allu Arjun, the action drama film is scheduled to release theatrically on August 15, 2024, in multiple languages and it is likely to be available on Netflix after an 8-week theatrical window in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil. ## Superstar Jr. NTR's action drama Devara - Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva, is another big Telugu Pan India film acquired by Netflix after its theatrical release, which is on April 5. The movie, just like Pushpa 2, is expected to be ready to stream after 8 weeks of the theatrical window in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil. ## Director Prashanth Neel and superstar Prabhas' Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire, which was released during Christmas 2023 weekend, will also be streaming on Netflix soon. The movie has emerged as a big box office success with a worldwide gross collection of over 600 crores. Netflix will stream it in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil language. ## The line-up also includes Vijay Deverakonda's untitled action drama film VD 12, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The theatrical release date of the movie is not locked yet. Mumbai, January 3 - Netflix released its weekly viewership chart and Zack Snyder's sci-fi epic Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire stayed on top for the second week in a row worldwide by a huge margin. ## The over $160 million budgeted flick, despite the poor reviews, has crossed 50 million views and over 100 million viewing hours in the first 10 days. After debuting at number 1 with 54.1 million viewing hours from 23.9 million views, the movie scored 77 million viewing hours from 34 million views in the week of December 25 - December 31, 2023. ## The total viewership of "Rebel Moon" is 131.1 million viewing hours from 57.9 million views in the first 10 days. The numbers are good considering the poor reviews from critics at 24% and the average response from audiences at 60% on Rotten Tomatoes.## Starring Sofia Boutella, the film is set in a fictional galaxy ruled by the imperialistic Motherworld, whose military, the Imperium, threatens a farming colony on the moon of Veldt. Kora, a former Imperium soldier, ventures on a quest to recruit warriors from across the galaxy to make a stand against the Imperium before they return to Veldt. ## Meanwhile, the coming-of-age Bollywood drama film Kho Gaye Hum Kahan debuted at number 4 in the non-English category with 6.3 million viewing hours from 2.8 million views in its first weekend. Mumbai, December 24 - Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's action drama Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of all time with its phenomenal run at the worldwide box office.## Animal is one of the lengthiest Indian films ever with a theatrical runtime of 3 hours and 22 minutes. Director Sandeey Vanga has done an amazing job by never letting the film drag for a second despite the long runtime and now, the filmmaker is set to extend the runtime of the movie for its OTT version. ## During a recent interview, Sandeep Vanga said that there is scope for an additional 9-10 minutes which he cut for the film's theatrical release but he will now include those minutes for its digital release. It means Animal will be streaming on Netflix with an extended runtime of 3 hours and 31 minutes in all versions. ## The digital release of the film has not yet been revealed but reports say it will be available on Netflix at the end of January 2024 or early February. The movies on the list are the ones released between the period of January 1 - November 6. ## Lust Stories 2, which was released on June 29, scored 18.5 million viewing hours in the first three weeks on Netflix. Mumbai, November 29 - After completing its box office run, Thalapathy Vijay's blockbuster Leo recently started streaming on Netflix, and surprisingly, the Hindi version turned out to be the most-watched in India in its first weekend. ## "Leo" debuted on Netflix on November 24 in India while it started streaming globally on November 28. During the week of November 20 - November 26, the Hindi version of the movie was the most-watched title in India. Netflix doesn't reveal data for a particular country. ## At the box office, the "Leo" Hindi version grossed approx. 32 crores despite not getting released in multiplex chains. Chennai, November 20 - Thalapathy Vijay's action blockbuster Leo is nearing its box office run after debuting in theatres on October 19. The Lokesh Kanagaraj's directorial has grossed over 600 crores at the worldwide box office and is currently the third highest-grossing Tamil movie of all time. ## There is not much gas left in the film to fire at the box office, and as pre-scheduled, the gangster drama is gearing up for its streaming debut on Netflix.
