Hyderabad, December 13 - In a shocking turn of events, superstar Allu Arjun was arrested on Friday in a case related to a stampede at Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad where a woman died. This happened when the premiere of the actor's Pushpa 2 - The Rule was held and was attended by Allu Arjun and family on December 4. ## Now, according to the latest media reports, the bail of Allu Arjun has been rejected and sent to 14-dau judicial custody by a local court in Telangana in the case in which the deceased son was also injured and undergoing treatment. The actor has moved the Telangana High Court for urgent relief.## Earlier in the day, a police team, headed by the assistant commissioner, arrived at Arjun's home to take him into custody whilst his family members were present. The authorities escorted him to their vehicle before transporting him to the police station. ## Meanwhile, industry people have come in support of the actor, including Bollywood star Varun Dhawan who believes that Allu Arjun was not at all fault in that unfortunate case and that it was the responsibility of the authorities to handle the situation. ## It has also been reported that Sandhya Theater owners had resorted to police protection to handle the crowd during the premiere of the film but it wasn't provided. ## Stay tuned...

Hyderabad, December 13 - Superstar Allu Arjun's mega-blockbuster Pushpa 2 - The Rule has beaten Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD to become the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024. Both movies have grossed over 1000 crores worldwide and are the only Indian films of the year to do so. ## Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 has grossed approximately 1060 crores globally, including 867 crores gross in India, in its extended 8-day first weekend, surpassing the lifetime total of Kalki which minted approximately 1042 crores gross, including 767 crores gross domestically. Overseas, Kalki is still the biggest Indian grosser with 275 crores gross. ## Pushpa 2 has also beaten Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan (1055 crores gross) to become the 6th highest-grossing Indian movie of all time at the worldwide box office. It will outgross SRK's Jawan (1160 crores) and possibly KGF: Chapter 2 (1215 crores gross) and RRR (1230 crores gross) this weekend to become the 3rd biggest Indian grosser ever.## Aamir Khan's Dangal (2070 crores gross) and Prabhas' Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion (1788 crores gross) are currently the top 2 highest-grossing Indian movies at the worldwide box office. Mumbai, December 13 - Yash Raj Films has officially announced the third instalment of Rani Mukerji-led action thriller franchise Mardaani. The actress will return to reprise her role as SP Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 3 which is expected to be more dark and brutal. ## Abhiraj Minawala, who has worked as the second unit assistant director in films like Tiger 3, and Sultan, will be making his debut as a director with this upcoming movie that is scheduled for a 2026 release worldwide. ## Mardaani is the first female-led film franchise to have a trilogy. Hyderabad, December 12 - Pushpa 2 has completed the first extended 8-day week with over 400 crores net at the Hindi box office, becoming the first ever film to achieve this feat in the first week. The movie once again has a fantastic hold to finish the week on high. ## According to the early estimates, Pushpa 2 minted in the range of 27-28+ crores net collection in Hindi on its second Thursday (8th day), dropping around 10% from Wednesday, a sensational hold. The total Hindi film collection is now around 425 crores net after 8 days. ## As said, Pushpa 2 will enter the 500 crores net club by the end of the second weekend itself to become the fastest to do so. Mumbai, December 12 - Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and superstar Prabhas are teaming up for the first time for an action thriller film titled Spirit. It is one of the most anticipated Indian movies in the making and will show Prabhas playing the role of a cop for the first time in his career.## The shoot of Spirit is expected to kick off early next year, and ahead of the production commencement, a short synopsis of the film has seemingly been revealed. According to Letterboxd, Spirit is about "A disgraced cop, determined to regain his job, hunts down a ruthless international crime syndicate".## Interestingly, during the promotion of Animal (2023), Sandeep Reddy Vanga revealed that the protagonist in Spirit comes from a middle-class background, in contrast to both Animal and Arjun Reddy (2017), where the male leads belonged to wealthy families. He stated that the movie is about a sincere cop.## Given the track record of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's filmography, Spirit seems going to be another A-rated film with so much violence. Mumbai, December 12 - Former Miss Universe Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Tiger Shroff-fronted Baaghi 4. Harnaaz won the Miss Universe title on this same day in 2021 and to make it more memorable, the makers have officially confirmed her on board the film. ## Harnaaz, who has starred in a couple of Punjabi films, has been paired opposite Tiger in the fourth instalment of this action thriller franchise, directed by Kannada director A Harsha. Sajid Nadiadwala produces Baaghi 4 under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. ## Earlier, the makers signed on Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa to play one of the female leads while Sanjay Dutt was confirmed to play the antagonist role. Mumbai, December 11 - Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule has completed its first week (7 days) with the record-breaking collection. The movie has performed exceptionally well throughout the week and has another solid hold on its first Wednesday in Hindi and other versions. ## The movie is having an insane hold in Hindi despite the record-shattering day-wise collection. On Wednesday, Pushpa 2 is witnessing a drop of just 15%-20% for an estimated 29-31 crores net, pushing total Hindi collection to around 397+ crores net in just 7 days. ## The extended opening week of the film is heading towards 420 crores net (+/-) and it looks like will break into the 500 crores club during the second weekend only in a record time and may become the biggest Hindi grosser by the third weekend which looks a serious possibility at this point. ## In Telugu states, Pushpa 2 continues to have a decent hold as it scored another 8-9 crores gross on Wednesday, followed by 4-5 crores gross in Karnataka, and around 3 crores gross in Tamil Nadu and Karela. Hyderabad, December 11 - Veteran Telugu star Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Seenu are reuniting for the fourth time for the sequel to their big box office blockbuster Akhanda. The movie was officially announced in October this year and now, the makers have dropped a major update. ## On Wednesday (December 11), the makers officially announced that the shoot of Akhanda 2 - Thaandavam has commenced today in Hyderabad and the film has been locked to be released on Thursday, September 25, 2025, during the pre-Dussehra weekend. ## The release date was announced with a teaser promo which has S Thaman's electrifying music.
