Mumbai, April 23, 2021: Last year, on March 4, Kabir Singh producer Murad Khetani announced his next project in association with Bhushan Kumar of T-Series. The Hindi remake of the Tamil movie, Thadam was announced with a release date of 20th November 2020. However, due to the covid-19 pandemic, the movie couldn't go on floors as scheduled in May.## The film that was supposed to be headlined by Sidharth Malhotra and Mrunal Thakur finally went on floors in November last year with major changes. However, earlier this year, Sidharth did object to the new screenplay which resulted in, the actor opted out of the movie that put a brake on the further proceedings. ## Now, the remake of Thadam is back on track again as makers have reportedly locked Aditya Roy Kapur to play the lead. "Aditya Roy Kapur has been locked in to play the hero now. It's an action-packed film which will have double roles. This will also be Aditya's first double role ever. When Sid opted out, they were on the lookout for a good-looking hero who's fantastic with action. Apart from Adi, Mrunal remains part of the cast", said a source. ## Aditya Roy Kapur is currently busy filming for his next, Om - The Battle Within, with producer Ahmed Khan. Once he wrapped up Om, he will begin the Thadam remake sometime this year. He will be reprising the role of Arun Vijay from the original Thadam. ## Talking about the original Thadam, it is directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Inder Kumar. The movie starred Arun Vijay in a double role along with Tanya Hope and Vidya Pradeep. It was released on 1 March 2019 and was a box office success. Mumbai, April 23, 2021: Gujarati actor Amit Mistry, who is known for working in Bollywood movies like Kya Kehna, A Gentleman, Shor In The City, Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, has passed away on April 23 due to cardiac arrest. ## The Cine And TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) expressed condolences on the demise of Amit Mistry. The actor recently featured in, Karnan, which not only revived the Tamil film industry but also emerged as the biggest blockbusters of Dhanush's career. Chennai, April 22, 2021: Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi's long-awaited political thriller film, Laabam finally finalized the release date. Written and Directed by late S. P. Jananathan, the movie will release on the occasion of Ramzan (May 12) in theaters. ## The release date was announced with the second single, Yaamili Yaamiliyaa from the movie which is a tribute to the director who died on 14 March 2021 at the age of 61 after being unconscious for two days following a cardiac arrest.## Earlier, The makers of Laabam were planning to release the movie in April as scheduled, for which they also released a statement, however, the prevailing covid-19 situation in the country forced the makers to change their plans. ## Produced by P. Mumbai, April 22, 2021: It was reported last year that Ajay Devgn will be collaborating with Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films for the first time for a superhero film. The movie was supposed to be announced along with a slate of other movies at a grand event to commemorate YRF's 50 years celebration. ## However, a lot of things have been changed since then which resulted in, Ajay's film with YRF, which could have been the next big film in the superhero genre, is reportadly not happening now as both Ajay and Aditya Chopra don't want to push it further. Another reason for the film getting shelved is that Ajay never singed the dotted lines as he has already a plethora of films in the pipeline. ## The film was supposed to be directed by Shiv Rawail and Ajay was to play the supervillain while Ananya Panday's cousin brother Ahaan Panday was all set to make his big debut with the action-adventure saga. As per the reports, Aditya and Ajay were still looking to manage dates but due to Ajay's busy schedule for almost this entire year, things couldn't materialize at this point of the time. ## While Ajay and YRF's wait for working togehter gets longer, the superstar will continue to thrill his fans with the excited films coming up. Chennai, April 22, 2021: Amid the speculations, the National Award-winning director, Vetrimaaran's next Tamil film with Vijay Sethupathi and Soori has been titled "Viduthalai". The movie is said to be based on the short story of a novel, Thunaivan written by Jeya Mohan. ## Produced by Elred Kumar's RS Infotainment and Vetrimaaran's Grassroot Company, the first look poster says that Vijay Sethupathi plays the mentor in the film and Soori plays the protagonist in a role of a cop.
