Mumbai, August 18 - Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi has ignited a new controversy after commenting on Pan India superstar Prabhas for his look in the latest box office blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD. The film, directed by Nag Ashwin, features Prabhas in the lead role and it seems Arshad didn't like the way Prabhas presented in the movie.## While appearing on a podcast interview with Samish Bhatia on his show "Unfiltered", the Jolly LLB star said that he didn't like the movie and was particularly disappointed with Prabhas' look and that he was looking like a Joker in the movie.## "Maine Kalki dekhi, mujhe toh nhi acchi lagi. Mujhe bahut takleef hoti hai jab (I watched Kalki and didn’t like it. It hurts me when)... Amit Ji was unbelievable. I can't understand that man. I swear if we got the power he has, life ban Jaye (our lives would be set). He's unreal", the actor said.## He further said, "Prabhas, I am really sad, why was he... he was like a joker. Why? I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. What have you made of it? Why do they do such things? I never understand".## The comments made by Arshad on Prabhas seem to have stirred a new controversy amid the already existing North vs South debate. Mumbai, August 18 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is reportedly in talks to headline Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj's next film and it will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers.## According to Aakashavaani, the film in question is confirmed and the official announcement can be expected soon. It will be a Pan India movie and is expected to start rolling next year after the duo of Aamir and Lokesh complete their ongoing projects.## Aamir is the latest in the famous Khan trio to collaborate with a South Indian director. Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan teamed with director Atlee for the action thriller Jawan which was a monstrous box office blockbuster. Salman Khan is also shooting for director A.R. Murugadoss' action drama Sikandar which is scheduled to hit screens on Eid next year. ## Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is currently shooting for the comedy-drama Sitaare Zameen Par with director R.S. Prasanna. It is currently scheduled to be released on Christmas this year. Chennai, August 18 - The trailer of Thalapathy Vijay's sci-fi action thriller The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT) scored 34+ million views in the first 24 hours on YouTube, emerging one of the most viewed South Indian movie trailers. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the GOAT trailer scored 29.25+ million views in the original Tamil version, making it the second most-viewed Tamil trailer of all time in the first 24 hours, behind only Leo (32 million), also headlined by Vijay.## Overall, it is the 4th most-viewed trailer in a single South Indian language, after Guntur Kaaram (37.60 million), Salaar Part 1 (32.50 million), and Leo. Apart from the Tamil version, the GOAT trailer scored 3.25 million views in Hindi and 2.30 million views in the Telugu version, for 34.75+ million overall views during the said period. ## Produced by AGS Entertainment, the GOAT star Vijay in a dual role as a father and son. The makers have used de-age technology to create the son's character. Mumbai, August 18 - Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor is basking on the glorious success of horror-comedy Stree 2 which rewriting box office history with the phenomenal collection. While this Maddock Films' production venture is going bonkers, there is another potential blockbuster reportedly in the pipeline for the actress. ## According to the report by Times Now, Shraddha Kapoor is set to play the female lead role alongside Hrithik Roshan in the highly-anticipated superhero movie Krrish 4. It is reported that the actress has been in talks for a long time to come on board the film and things are finally falling into place.## Krrish 4 has been on hold for a long time but now it is expected to start rolling next year after Hrithik completes shooting for War 2. Reportedly, Agneepath director Karan Malhotra will direct the 4th instalment of the superhero film franchise while Rakesh Roshan is writing the script. ## Shraddha Kapoor, meanwhile, hasn't officially announced her next film yet. Mumbai, August 18 - Yash Raj Films' Spy Universe is set to have its first female-led movie, titled Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh in the leading roles. The shoot of the movie has already commenced and it is being directed by The Railway Men fame Shiv Rawail. ## According to the report by Dainik Bhaskar, Hrithik Roshan's character of RAW agent Kabir will also be seen in Alpha and he will play the role of Alia Bhatt's mentor. Hrithik is also shooting for War 2, directed by Ayan Mukherji, with Jr. NTR and Kiara Advani in the leading roles. ## While War 2, which is also a part of YRF's Spy Universe, is scheduled to be released on August 14, 2025, it is not yet clear when will Alpha hit the big screen. War 2, however, is expected to be the next film in the Spy Universe as indicated in the post-credit scene of Tiger 3, released last year.## Meanwhile, the shoot of War 2 is reportedly delayed due to the on-set injury of Jr. NTR who is making his Bollywood debut with this biggie. The filming is now expected to resume in September in Italy where the team will shoot some song sequences. ## Jr. NTR, on the other hand, is gearing up for the release of long-awaited Devara: Part 1 which is slated to hit the big screens on September 27. Chennai, August 18 - Superstar Rajinikanth's highly-anticipated action drama Vettaiyan with director T. J. Gnanavel is getting ready to clash with another hugely-awaited film Kanguva, starring Tamil star Suriya, this October. ## It has been reported by Tamil media that Vettaiyan will be hitting theatres worldwide on October 10 and now, the makers have officially confirmed the same. This has confirmed the clash with Kanguva which is already slated for the same-day release in multiple languages.## Produced by Lyca Productions, Vettaiyan was reportedly aiming Diwali 2024 release and the producer of Kanguva also said the same which made him slot his movie in the Dussehra weekend during a recent interview. Mumbai, August 17 - Amid the struggle of other films, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's horror-comedy Stree 2 is turning out to be an unstoppable force at the box office, already one of the biggest grossers for the talent involved. ## After the sensational first 2 days, the Amar Kaushik's directorial blockbuster scored a huge first Saturday, crossing the 40 crores net mark for the second time in its short run so far. According to the early estimates, Stree 2 scored in the range of 43-45 crores net collection on its third day. ## The film's total collection after three days (including previews) is around 135 crores net, which already makes it the 3rd biggest Bollywood grosser of the year. Stree 2 is expected to breach the 50 crores net mark on Sunday and then follow it with a rocking collection on Monday which is the national holiday due to Raksha Bandhan. ## Considering the trend, Stree 2 is expected to score 215+ crores net over the 5-day opening weekend. Even after the holiday period, the movie will have no real threat for the next few weeks which should help to continue with a strong collection during the weekdays.## At this point, 400+ crores net lifetime collection looks well within reach but it will be interesting to see if it can go on to touch 500 crores net. ## Stay tuned...

Chennai, August 17 - The wait is over as Thalapathy Vijay's much-anticipated trailer of the sci-fi action thriller The Greatest of All-Time (The GOAT) trailer has been released ahead of the September 5 release of the movie.## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the GOAT trailer takes Vijay into a new territory where is playing the role of an agent at the Special Anti Terrorism Squad (SATS). Kochi, August 17 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's long-awaited fantasy film Barroz has once again been postponed from September 12 and is now to be released on October 3rd during the Gandhi Jayanti weekend. ## Directed and headlined by Mohanlal, the movie is based on the novel Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure by Jijo Punnoose. On Saturday (August 17), Mohanlal took to social media to announce the new release date. It will be the actor's next release since Malaikottai Vaaliban in January this year.## Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, Barroz has been in the making since 2021. The movie was initially planned for a March 2023 release before it was postponed to Onam 2023. However, due to the delay in the post-production work, it was again postponed to March 2024, and then to September 2024 release, and will not hit theaters in October.## In the movie, Barroz, a treasure guardian (played by Mohanlal) has been protecting Vasco da Gama's hidden treasure for 400 years and has been entrusted to hand over the wealth only to a true descendant of da Gama. Mumbai, August 17 - Pan India superstar Prabhas has teamed up with Sita Ramam director Hanu Raghavapudi for his next film, tentatively called PrabhasHanu. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the movie was officially launched on August 17 with a traditional Pooja ceremony.## The yet-untitled movie is said to be a period action drama, set in the 1940s and is the tale of a warrior who rose from the shadows, emerging from a society that believed war was the only answer to the buried injustices and forgotten truths that history kept hidden from the world.## Debutante Imanvi is the lead actress opposite Prabhas in the movie, while the yesteryear eminent actors Mithun Chakraborty and Jaya Prada play pivotal roles. Mumbai, August 17 - Maddock Films and Jio Studios' horror-comedy Stree 2 has topped the 100 crores net collection and become the fastest Bollywood movie of 2024 to achieve the feat, reaching the milestone in less than 3 days.## Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, the blockbuster sequel scored approximately 91.70 crores net in the first 2 days, including previews. On its third day (first Saturday), it scored an estimated 43+ crores net and with that, the movie has crossed the 100 crore mark, becoming the 4th Bollywood movie and 10th Indian movie of the year to do so.## Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is the 7th film of Shraddha Kapoor and the second for Rajkummar Rao (after Stree) to top 100 crores net collection. For director Amar Kaushik, it is his 3rd 100 crores net scorer after Stree and Bala. Overall, Stree 2 is the 122nd movie in Hindi to score a box office century.## Stree 2 opened to a historic collection of over 60 crores net, including 8.50 crores net previews. Bengaluru, August 17 - The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) announced the winners of the 70th National Film Awards at the National Media Center in New Delhi on Friday (August 16), to honour feature and non-feature films certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2022. ## Among the big winners, Kannada production house Hombale Films scored 4 National Awards wins. Rishab Shetty-fronted action thriller Kantara won the Best Actor award to Shetty and the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
