Chennai, April 22, 2021: Amid the speculations, the National Award-winning director, Vetrimaaran's next Tamil film with Vijay Sethupathi and Soori has been titled "Viduthalai". The movie is said to be based on the short story of a novel, Thunaivan written by Jeya Mohan. ## Produced by Elred Kumar's RS Infotainment and Vetrimaaran's Grassroot Company, the first look poster says that Vijay Sethupathi plays the mentor in the film and Soori plays the protagonist in a role of a cop. Veteran music composer Ilaiyaraaja is scoring the music for the film while National Award-winning stunt choreographer Peter Hein is choreographing the action scenes in Viduthalai.## After Viduthalai, Vertrimaaran will begin Suriya's "Vaadi Vasal". After the historic deal with Netflix earlier this month, Sony Pictures has now inked another landmark deal with Disney, which will allow the platform to stream Sony's films on its streaming and TV platforms. ## The new deal, which will cover Sony's entire theatrical slate from 2022-26, will bring the films to Disney-owned streaming services Disney+ and Hulu, as well as to Disney's linear TV networks, including ABC, Disney Channels, Freeform, FX, and National Geographic.## However, as per Sony's earlier deal, Netflix will have the right to stream Sony pictures first after they completed their theatrical run. And once the first pay window deal (which usually comes 18 months after a film hits theaters) with Netflix expires, the new deal will see Sony's titles hit Disney platforms for their Pay 2 windows.## Read - Netflix Acquires Streaming Rights To Sony Feature Films Starting In 2022 In US## The library titles include films from Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters, such as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, as well as films from the Hotel Transylvania and Jumanji franchises. Sony's upcoming 2022 slate includes Morbius, Uncharted, Bullet Train, and the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. ## Disney has been the streaming home for almost the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, except the Spider-Man films such as Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home, which are currently not available at Disney's service. Mumbai, April 22, 2021: While most of the films' shoot have been put on hold amid the second wave of covid-19, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon have wrapped the first schedule of their upcoming film, Bhediya. They were shooting in Arunachal Pradesh's Ziro that is one of the safest places in India at the moment. ## Varun took to social media and shared his experience of shooting amid the ongoing pandemic which has brought the world to its knees. ## "#bhediya 🐺 . Shooting a movie 🎥 during the pandemic has been extremely challenging but working under the leadership of @amarkaushik has been one of the most exhilarating and satisfying experiences for me. Was extremely lucky to shoot in a covid free town like ziro in #ARUNACHALPRADESH", Varun wrote on Instagram and shared a picture of himself with director Amar Kaushik. ## A couple of days ago, Kriti Sanon too shared adorable pictures with Varun as she completed her schedule. Both Kriti and Varun are reuniting on Bhediya after five years when they shared screen space for the first time for "Dilwale" which also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead roles. ## Bhediya is a horror-comedy film directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan under his banner Maddock Films in association with Jio Studios. Mumbai, April 21, 2021: Actor Sonu Sood, who is currently battling with the coronavirus, feels the covid-19 vaccines will be provided for free of cost to every needy people in the country. The actor also said that there should be a cap on the pricing of the vaccines. ## After the union government announced that all people above 18 of age will be eligible to get the vaccine from May 1st, the largest vaccine manufacturer, Serum Institue said in a statement that it will provide its "Covishield" vaccine will be provided to states at Rs. 400 per dose and private hospital at Rs. 600 per dose while the price for centre stays at Rs. 150 a dose. ## "Every needy should get vaccine for free. Very important to put a cap on the pricing. Mumbai, April 21, 2021: After the ouster of Kartik Aaryan from Dharma Productions' Dostana 2 due to creative differences, everyone is speculating who would replace the actor as the new male lead in the film. ## While the official confirmation is yet to be made, reports claim that it is Akshay Kumar who came to rescue the production house. As per a report in HT, Dharma Productions has approached Akshay and requested him to join the cast of Collin D'Cunha directorial to save them from this tricky situation. ## "Karan Johar has personally requested Akshay to come on board Dostana 2 and help him out, as lots of money has already been invested in the shoot of the film. So, in all likelihood, Akshay will join the cast", said a source quoted by Hindustan Times.## On April 16, Dharma Productions issued a statement on Kartik Aaryan no longer being part of the film, though the exact reason behind Kartik's ouster wasn't revealed. However, it is said that Karan Johar was not happy with Kartik's "unprofessional behavior" which led to his omission from the sequel to Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham starrer Dostana. The filmmaker also reportadly vowed not to work again with the actor in the future on any project. ## Talking about the film, Dostana 2 is a romantic comedy film about a brother and sister duo falling for the same guy. Mumbai, April 21, 2021: Singer B Praak was shot to fame after he sang "Teri Mitti" song from Akshay Kumar starrer "Kesari". The patriotic Hindi song which gives as a tribute to soldiers received a brilliant response from fans, and later, B Praak won the prestigious National Award as Best Playback Singer for the song. ## He calls the win a blessing and expresses gratitude. "It feels absolutely amazing as I never thought that I would one day get a National Award. It definitely makes me feel blessed to have got it. It's all due to God’s grace", B Praak told IANS.## When asked to whom he will dedicate this award, the singer said, "Definitely to my fans! They have always been one of my greatest support systems and are my constant inspiration. It's their continued blessings and love that helped me reach such heights of success and today has led me to receive a National Award".## The 35-year old singer from Punjab also recalled the reaction Akshay Kumar gave when he listened to the song for the first time. "I remember the first time I dubbed the song, Akshay Kumar sir called to congratulate me and conveyed how the song had touched his soul and appreciated how beautifully it was sung. I'll never forget his words where he said, you have sung the best song of my life. Hearing this, I was left speechless. That day I truly realized that this song would stay in my heart and this world forever".## Teri Mitti song was launched on 15 March 2019 while the movie, Kesari released on March 21. This song also has a female version which is sung by Parineeti Chopra who appeared in the movie as the female lead. Kochi, April 21, 2021: It was reported last year that Vyjayanthi Movies will be joining hands with Dulquer Salmaan yet again for a period love story. And now, on the occasion of Ram Navami, makers have released a short video that gives us a glimpse of Salmaan's character as Lieutenant Ram. ## Said to be a period love story set in 1964, the untitled film will be directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, who is best known for directing movies like LIE, Padi Padi Leche Manasu, among others. The iconic production house Swapna Cinema is also associated with the movie. ## ## Just like Mahanati, this film too will be multi-lingual and will be released in three South Indian languages, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. The music of the film will be composed by Vishal Chandrasekar. While the film is produced by Priyanka Dutt under Swapna Cinemas, it will be presented by Vyjayanthi Movies.## Meanwhile, Dulquer was last seen in the Tamil Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, which released in early 2020. He is now waiting for the release of his upcoming film, Kurup. The Malayalam film is based on the life of Kerala's most-wanted criminal Sukumara Kurup will be released in multiple languages including Hindi. A few weeks ago, Bollywood along with Southern film industries announced the release dates of their pending movies one after another as the coronavirus cases were slowing down. However, the enthusiasm soon died down after the second wave of the covid-19 pandemic started showing its effect which is now getting out of hand. ## Due to the second wave, films like Sooryavanshi, Thalaivi, Chehre, Love Story, Tuck Jagadish which were slated to release in April, are now postponed indefinitely. And if reports are to be believed, movies scheduled for release in the month of May may also get postponed further. ## According to reports, the union government led by prime minister Narendra Modi is planning to take big steps to curb the speed of the second wave of the covid-19. While the government has already ruled out the complete nationwide lockdown, sources say that the government is seriously considering the strategy of "unlock phase 2" of the last year. ## If this happens, then the theaters will be closed again for the entire month of May or beyond. On the other hand, the exhibitors and theater owners will be hoping that such a decision not be taken as they have already suffered enough and another push might dig them in the deep haul. ## May is the month of Eid and a lot of big summer releases.
