All India Exhibitors have requested superstar, Salman Khan to release his most-awaited action movie, Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai on Eid 2021 to give a boost to single screens/independent cinemas which got a massive set back due to the covid-19 pandemic.## The Cinema Associations are hopeful that a Salman Khan movie can revive the halted single screen business hence, they want the superstar to release his Radhe on Eid 2021 in every cinema across the country for not just financial support but to give a ray of hope to cinemas owners and employees in the context of their future. ## In the letter addressed to Salman, they wrote, "As you are aware, 2020 has been a rough year for millions of people across the country & the ones associated with India's film exhibition sector haven't been an exception. Over the last 10 months, hundreds of single screen/ Independent cinemas have pulled down their shutters permanently & this has resulted in the loss of livelihood for lakhs of people who were employed by them directly & indirectly".## "Films are to theatres what fuel is to a car. Without a constant supply of content that is relevant to its audience, running a cinema hall is close to impossible. For over a decade now, your films have played an important role in bringing audiences to single-screen cinemas, which are otherwise starved for content that caters to the sensibilities of people who patronize them", they added.## "Your film Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai is among the few that are capable of resurrecting the fortunes of independent / single-screen cinemas across the country. A film like that, if released widely can give not just financial support & relief, but also a ray of hope to owners & employees of theatres in the context of their future. We request you to plan the film's release at every cinema in the country on Eid 2021, as there cannot be a better idea than that for us film exhibitors & more importantly for millions of your fans, whom we cannot wait to welcome back at the theatres", they wrote requesting the actor for a mega release of Radhe.## The letter went on to say that since there hasn't been a single case of people contracting COVID-19 traced back to a cinema hall anywhere in the world, they are confident of keeping Salman's fans safe by following comprehensive protocols and guidelines.## They signed off stating that they are anticipating his support on behalf of lakhs of Indians who make a living by working at & for cinema halls.## Stay tuned...

The silver jubilee of The International Film festival of Kerala (IFFK) will be held from February 10 onwards in four places including Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Palakkad, and Thalassery. The people who will participate in the festival will require Covid negative certificates and the delegate fee is reduced to Rs 750.## The festival will be inaugurated at Thiruvananthapuram on February 10 and will be conducted here from February 10 to 14 before moving to Ernakulam from February 17 to 21, From February 23 to 27 at Thalassery, and from March 1 to 5 at Palakkad.## This was announced by the state minister for culture AK Balan yesterday (Jan 1). He said that the film festival which was generally held in December each year has been postponed to February 10 owing to the Covid pandemic. Nearly 14,000 delegates used to attend the festival each year but owing to Covid-19, this won't be possible and hence, the festival will be conducted at four venues.## Speaking to media persons Balan said, "All the cultural festivals as part of the film festival are cancelled owing to the Covid pandemic. Meet the Director, Press meet, Master class and discussion with foreign guests will be conducted online".## He further said that IFFK will have competition section films, Malayalam cinema today, Indian cinema now, Kaleidoscope, Retrospective, and Homage sections. Four films will be screened in a theatre a day and five theaters will screen movies in each district. ## The Kerala State Chalachithra Academy who is the host of the festival will have antigen testing facilities at the venues in association with the state health ministry. In what could be one of the biggest news of the year going forward, Tamil superstar, Dhanush who is riding high with a series of films, has signed one more movie and this time it is the sequel of the magnum opus Aayirathil Oruvan that will be directed by his brother, Selvaraghavan who also helmed the original movie.## Even though an action-adventurous film, Aayirathil Oruvan 2 has been announced at the beginning of 2021, the movie will take more than three years to arrive in cinemas as it is slated for 2024 release. ## Selvaraghavan took to Twitter and shared the first look of AO2. The story of the film revolves around three characters, who embark on an adventure to search for a missing archaeologist.
