Mumbai, January 28 - Superstar Yash is busy shooting for director Geetu Mohandas' gangster action thriller Toxic which is the actor's first film since all-time blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2. The actor also has director Nitesh Tiwari's epic Ramayana which has been on the floors since last year. ## In a recent interview, Yash confirmed his participation in Ramayana, not only as an actor but also as a co-producer. Now, according to the report by Filmfare, the actor will join the shoot of this epic by March this year. He will start with solo sequences in Lanka, followed by the Panchvati sequence. ## As already known to all, Yash is playing the role of Raavan while Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi plays Goddess Sita. The film will be released in two parts, with the first part scheduled for Diwali 2026, followed by the second part on Diwali 2027.## Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios with Yash's Monster Mind Creations. Mumbai, December 10 - Director Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is the biggest Indian movie in the making. The 2-part epic has officially been confirmed to be headlined by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi and Goddess Sita and Yash as Lankesh. ## Bollywood star Sunny Deol, who had long been rumoured to be part of this epic as Lord Hanuman, has officially confirmed himself on board. At the third edition of SCREEN Live in Mumbai, Sunny revealed he is part of the project and shared some insights into it.## The Gadar 2 star lauded and hyped the vision of the makers of Ramayana which he believes is going to be a great film. "Ramayana is a long project because they're trying to make it the way Avatar and Planet of the Apes movies were made. The writer and director are very clear about the way it has to be and how the characters should be presented", Sunny said, per Indian Express.## The visual effects of Ramayana are being done by, who is also one of the producers with Yash, Namit Malhotra's Oscar-winning studio DNEG, and according to Sunny, the CGI will give the impression of complete genuinelity. ## "You will also get to see the special effects that will make you believe that it (the events unfolding) has very genuinely happened rather than making one feel that these are special effects. Mumbai, November 6 - Director Nitesh Tiwari's epic Ramayana has officially been announced months after going into production. The movie stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Lankesh, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. ## The epic will be released in two parts with the first part coming on Diwali 2026 and part 2 on Diwali 2027. Easily the biggest Indian movie in the making, Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios in association with Yash's Monster Mind Creations. ## The Oscar-winning combo of Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman is on board to do music and background score while DNEG, which has won multiple Oscars, will be doing the VFX of Ramayana. Mumbai, October 22 - After the mega success of KGF: Chapter 2, superstar Yash returned to set with the upcoming gangster action drama Toxic which is being directed by national award-winning director Geethu Mohandas. The film is currently on floors and will be released next year. ## Toxic was announced last year with the release date which was April 10, 2025. However, it was recently reported that the movie had been postponed due to date issues of involved actors. The movie has Nayanathara, Kiara Advani, and Huma Qureshi, among others in prominent roles. ## Now, during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the superstar officially confirmed that Toxic won't be released on April 10. He said that it was premature to announce the release date even before the shoot started and not considering the schedules of other actors. ## When asked about the new release date, Yash said that he doesn't want to announce it right now and would make things official in due time. The actor also confirmed that Oscar and National award-winning company, DNEG is going the VFX work of Toxic. ## Apart from Toxic, Yash is also working on the epic Ramayana which he called a dream passion project. The actor said that he was in Los Angeles where he discussed the possible collaboration with Namit Malhotra, who has been working on Ramayana for many years, and that's where they decided to work on this and Yash came on board to play Ravan/Lankesh. ## Yash confirmed that he is co-producing Ramayana with Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus as the two have the same vision to take Indian cinema globally with this epic. The actor said that he is playing the role of Ravan, which many believe is the masterstroke, with Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita. ## While Ranbir Kapoor was the first choice for the role of Ram, Yash said that it was a collective decision of the makers to bring Sai Pallavi on board for the character of Sita.
