She had already worked with Charlotte during the early part of her career, but Becky, Sasha and Bayley were coming up around the time she decided to leave. "No. No. I was 38. I was there for 9 years. I was 38. And it was just time for me to go, you know?" Layla said. She explained that she didn't want to stay and take opportunities away from younger wrestlers. "And then Becky came up, Sasha came up, I think they finally then Bayley came up," Layla said. "And it was just like, you know what, this is their time now." Layla said she had already enjoyed her own run and was happy to let the younger stars have their opportunity. "I was too old, you know, and it wasn't my time, it wasn't my moment," she explained.
