Mumbai, February 12 - Amid the huge success of Sanam Teri Kasam's re-release at the box office, now superstars Aamir Khan and Salman Khan's iconic comedy entertainer Andaz Apna Apna making its way back to the big screens after more than 3 decades later. ## Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film has been announced to be re-released in theatres in April this year. It will be re-issued by Cinepolis across India in the remastered 4K and Dolby 5.1 Sound version. The teaser for the same will be dropped on February 13. ## Originally released in 1994, Andaz Apna Apna was although an average affair at the box office, the film has emerged as a cult classic over the years due to its immense popularity on television. Los Angeles, February 12 - This Valentine's Day weekend is expected to shower love at the box office in the form of Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World, the first superhero movie of the year. ## Directed by Julius Onah, the fourth instalment in the Captain America film series had its world premiere yesterday (local time) and the early reactions are coming in as mixed. However, the film is likely to fly at the box office according to the trade projections. ## The Hollywood trade is projecting Brave New World to open in the range of $80 million-$85 million over a 3-day Valentine's Day and about $90 million - $100 million over a 4-day Presidents Day weekend. The film is more of a political thriller and projection indicates almost similar to 2014's Captain America: Winter Soldier which opened at $95 million in 3-day. ## Overseas, the Anthony Mackie-fronted tentpole is projected to hit $100 million - $110 million over a 5-day opening weekend, for a global opening in the range of $200 million which is touted to be superb for a new look Captain America film that is without the OG Captain America, Steve Rogers. ## It is the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie since the $1.33+ billion mega-blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine in July 2024, so the momentum is with the Brave New World. Mumbai, February 11 - The surprise package of the year, Sanam Teri Kasam re-release continues to rock at the box office with a super strong trend during the weekdays. It has emerged as the first Bollywood outright success of the year. ## After scoring a record 15.50 crores net in the opening weekend, the romantic drama showed a remarkable hold on Monday to score approximately 3.25 crores net. Continuing the superb trend, the film showed just around a 10% drop on Tuesday to bring another approximately 3 crore net collection. ## The total re-release collection of Sanam Teri Kasam is around 21.75 crores net in 5 days and it is heading towards 28-30 crores net first week which is simply brilliant. The movie is expected to continue to do well after the first week despite the arrival of Chhaava. ## On the other hand, Christopher Nolan's epic sci-fi adventure Interstellar is putting up-sold numbers to make the best use of its limited re-release run of just 7 days. Mumbai, February 11 - Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane-fronted romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam, which was originally released in 2016, has emerged as a big success upon its re-release 9 years later. The film is doing fantastic business and is set to become the biggest re-release grosser in India. ## Despite the setback originally, Sanam Teri Kasam has turned into a cult classic over the years with immense popularity on television. Due to that, the demand for the sequel has been going on and to the excitement of the fans, the makers announced the sequel last year with Harshvardhan. ## Now, in a recent interview, director Vinay Sapru, who directed the film with Radhika Rao, confirmed that the script for part 2 is ready and also hinted that it would be released on the next Valentine's Day. Mumbai, August 15 - Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films' next horror-comedy film is Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna's Thama. The movie, directed by Munjya fame Aditya Sarpotdar, was announced last for a grand Diwali 2025 release in cinemas worldwide. ## The shoot of Thama has been completed, and the post-production is going full swing. The fans of Maddock's horror-comedy universe have been waiting for the first look teaser of the film, and the makers provided good news. ## On Friday (August 15), Maddock took to Twitter/X and announced that the first look teaser of Thama will be released on August 19. The pre-look teaser, in the voice of Nawazuddin Siddiqui, teases that Thama is the most powerful in the horror-comedy universe. ## The teaser of the movie was supposed to be released earlier this year, but was delayed for some reason. It is said that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed 47 seconds of a teaser of Thama with a U certificate in February this year. ## Thama, which also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal, was earlier supposed to be titled Vampires of Vijay Nagar. In the movie, a well-known and determined historian examines ancient manuscripts for clues to the mysterious vampire legends of Vijay Nagar. ## Apart from the lead cast, the film is expected to feature multiple cameos from the recent movies in Maddock's horror-comedy universe. Mumbai, February 10 - Harvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane's romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam has emerged as a success story upon its re-release at the domestic box office after an excellent hold on Monday. It was a disaster in its original run 9 years ago, in 2016. ## Re-released amidst almost zero promotion at the start of Valentine's Day week on February 7, Sanam Teri Kasam stunned the trade with its opening weekend collection of approximately 15.50 crores net which is easily the biggest weekend for a Bollywood re-release title. ## On Monday, the film was outrightly the number one title at the Bollywood box office with approximately 3-3.25 crores net collection, beating the combined Monday total of Sky Force, Deva, Badass Ravikumar, and Loveyapa. With this, the total re-release collection of Sanam Teri Kasam after just 4 days is 18.50+ crores net which is more than double the film's lifetime original collection. ## The film will continue to score well throughout the Valentine's Day week as it might reach 27-30 crores net collection in the first week. There is Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava which is releasing on February 14 and is likely to open big at the box office, so needs to be seen how STK perform after that. ## Christopher Nolan's epic sci-fi adventure Interstellar, after scoring around 11 crores gross collection in its opening weekend, showed a fantastic hold on Monday to collect over 2 crores gross. Mumbai, February 10 - Tamil director Atlee Kumar, after directing superstar Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan (2023), is all set to collaborate with superstar Salman Khan for his next 2-hero film, tentatively titled A6. ## A6 is one of the biggest Indian films in the making and the talks are reportedly on with superstar Rajinikanth to come on board to play the parallel lead role. The pre-production work for the movie is ongoing and it will go on floors soon. ## After the monstrous success of Jawan, Atlee has raised the stake for A6. Mumbai, February 9 - The 9-year-old romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam has had a blockbuster opening weekend upon its re-release and has already become one of the biggest Bollywood repeat grosser at the domestic box office. ## The Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane-fronted movie was a dull affair in its original run, earning just 9 crores net collection in its lifetime run, but it got its due when the film was re-released on February 7 despite almost zero promotions. ## It scored approximately 4.25+ crores net collection on the first day of re-issue, followed by a fantastic 5.25 crores net on Saturday. The movie showed a further jump on Sunday and minted approximately 6-6.25 crores net, for 15.50 crores net opening weekend which is more than +170% of its lifetime original collection. ## Sanam Teri Kasam was easily the biggest Bollywood movie this weekend despite a few new releases. The audience loves the film and the trade is stunned seeing the Housefull boards for an old movie. It is certain to do well in the coming days and sure to benefit during the Valentine's Day week. ## Christopher Nolan's epic sci-fi adventure Interstellar was one more big gainer this weekend, continuing to bring good fortune for re-release titles at the Indian box office. Chennai, February 9 - Ajith Kumar's action thriller Vidaamuyarchi has had a good first weekend at the domestic box office, however, it failed to keep up the momentum after the big opening due to mixed word of mouth and remake factor. ## On its first Sunday (4th day), the movie scored more or less the same as on Saturday as early estimates suggest the collection to be around 15 crores gross, including around 13 crores gross in the home state, Tamil Nadu. The total 4-day weekend collection is around 72+ crores domestically, including 61+ crores in Tamil Nadu, as per estimates. ## The pre-sales of the movie for Monday are pretty average which was expected given the reception from audiences. It needs to be seen how strong the walk-ins will be as the film needs to have a good hold during the weekdays to have long and emerge a success.## Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya's Telugu romantic action drama Thandel has a fantastic and easily the biggest opening weekend for the actor. As per the estimates, the film has scored a decent jump on Sunday, especially in Telugu states which is not a regular case with Telugu titles. ## According to estimates, Thandel is expected to score around 14-15 crores gross collection domestically, including 12-13 crores gross in Telugu states. With this, the total domestic opening weekend of the movie is around 42 crores gross which is superb. ## The word of mouth for the movie is on the positive side which should lead to good hold during the weekdays.
