Mumbai, July 5 - Director Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD inches one step closer to 1000 crores gross after topping 700 crore gross collection on its 9th day at the worldwide box office, becoming the first Indian movie of the year to do so. ## The Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted flick grossed an estimated 709+ crores worldwide, including 514+ crores in India and 195 crores at the overseas box office. It scored an estimated 25+ crores gross on its second Friday (9th day).## Kalki 2898 AD is the second film of Prabhas after Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion to top this box office milestone. Deepika Padukone, who plays the female lead in the movie, also scored his second 700 crore grosser after Pathaan in a lead role. The actress was also a part of Jawan which grossed over 1150 crores worldwide. ## Overall, Kalki is the 12th Indian film and the third Telugu-origin title to top 700 crores globally after Baahubali 2 and RRR, SS Rajamouli directed both. It will cross Robot 2.0 (745 crores) and also has a shot to beat PK (792 crores) in the second weekend to become the 10th highest-grossing Indian film ever. ## Stay tuned...

Chennai, July 5 - Lyca Productions' vigilante action film Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan is set to be one of the longest Indian films as CBFC officially censored the much-anticipated Pan India film. Directed by Maverick S. Shankar, it is the sequel to 1996 Indian. ## Indian 2 was censored on July 4 by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a 'U/A' certificate with an approved theatrical runtime of 180 minutes and 4 seconds (3 hours). CBFC also suggested some changes, including the replacement of some cuss words, such as "Dirty Indian" to "Indian". ## Produced by Lyca Production, Indian 2 which will be released as Hindustani 2 in Hindi and Bharateeyudu 2 in Telugu will see Kamal Haasan reprising his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption. Chennai, July 5 - Legendary Kamal Haasan's vigilante action film Indian 2 gearing up to hit the worldwide theatres on July 12 as one of the most anticipated Indian films of the year. Directed by S. Shankar, it is the sequel to his 1996 film Indian. ## As the release date of Indian 2 is getting nearer, the makers have also confirmed the IMAX release with the regular format, taking the action and intensity to a whole new level. Hyderabad, July 5 - Telugu actor Nandamuri Kalyan Ram's highest-grossing film Bimbisara is set to get its prequel with the actor returning to play the titular role. The movie will be directed by Anil Paduri, replacing Mallidi Vassishta who helmed the original film. ## On the occasion of Kalyan Ram's birthday on July 5, the makers announced the prequel with the working title NKR 22 with a captivating concept poster which promises to be another thrilling chapter into the world of Bimbisara. ## The movie will be produced by N. Mumbai, July 5 - Bollywood star Alia Bhatt, and Sharvari Wagh have officially been confirmed to headline Yash Raj Films' first female-led Spy Universe film, titled Alpha. The film is directed by The Railway Man director Shiv Rawail. ## The movie has been in the news since last year and now, on July 5, Yash Raj Films has announced the official title with a voice teaser and also confirmed the shooting commencement. ## In the teaser, Alia Bhatt can be heard saying, "The first letter of the Greek alphabet... and our program's motto - the first, the fastest, the strongest. Every city is an urban jungle, and in that jungle, the one who will always rule is... Alpha".## Alpha marks a significant shift for the action-packed YRF's Spy Universe series, which has previously centred on male protagonists. Mumbai, July 4 - Kalki 2898 AD ends the extended first week on a high with another double-digit collection in the Hindi version with a drop of just around 10% from yesterday which is a very good hold to go into the second week. ## On its second Thursday (8th day), Kalki 2898 AD scored an estimated 10+ crores net collection which can go up to 11 crores depending on the single screens. The total collection after the 8-day extended week is 162+ crores net in Hindi. ## Kalki 2898 AD will be eyeing 40+ crores net collection in the second weekend to take the total past 200 crores net mark and then, it will depend on how it performs during the weekdays and once Sarfira and Indian 2 arrive on July 12 in its pursuit to reach 300 crores mark. ## If there was some drop in the Hindi collection, Kalki made it up with the Telugu version which sees a jump today as all version estimate suggests the collection is more or less similar to yesterday with around 26.50 crores gross, pushing the total cume to around 494 crores gross domestically. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, July 4 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and Tamil director Sudha Kongara teamed up for the first time for the drama film Sarfira which is the remake of Kongara's Soorarai Pottru with Suriya in the lead role. ## Sarfira, produced by Abundantia Entertainment, 2D Entertainment, and Cape Of Good Films, completed censorship formalities today (July 4) and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted the movie a clean 'U' certificate with an approved theatrical runtime of 2 hours and 35 minutes (155 minutes). ## Sarfira follows a man who sets out to make affordable airlines for low-income people, which several enemies try to impede. Akshay Kumar plays the lead role along with Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal who also featured in the original movie while Suriya has played a special appearance in the movie.## The movie was originally scheduled to be released in September 2023 before the makers postponed it to February 2024, from which it was again moved and now, it is finally hitting the big screens on July 12. Mumbai, July 4 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD has become the actor's second highest-grossing film at the worldwide box office, after topping SS Rajamouli's directorial Baahubali on its 8th day of run. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic grossed approximately 641 crores worldwide in the first 7 days, and with its 8th day's collection (2nd Thursday), the movie has topped Baahubali - The Beginning which grossed an estimated 650 crores worldwide in 2015. ## Kalki 2898 AD has been on a dream run since its debut on June 27. It became only the 6th Indian movie ever to score 500+ crores worldwide gross collection in the opening weekend and will end the extended first week total to around 675 crores. ## As has been the case with Prabhas' recent films, the Hindi version has once again delivered for the actor and added immense value to the overall collection. The dubbed Hindi version is expected to reach around 300 crores net in its lifetime run as the Kalki 2898 AD is aiming to finish around or over 1000 crores worldwide. ## The third highest-grossing of Prabhas is director Prashanth Neel's, Salaar - Part 1: Ceasefire which was released in December last year and went on to gross around 618 crores worldwide as one of the highest-grossing Indian movies of the year. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, July 4 - Maverick filmmaker S. Shankar is currently busy with the promotional activities of vigilante action film Indian 2 which reunites him with legendary Kamal Haasan after Indian (1996). The movie will be released in two parts with Indian 2 scheduled to hit screens on July 12. ## After Indian 2 release, Shankar will wrap Ram Charan-fronted political action drama Game Changer which has been in production for a long time. It is likely to be released around Diwali this year. Now, the filmmaker has shared some ideas that he has been working on and will focus on them after the current assignments. ## During a recent interview with Pinkvilla, director Shankar revealed that he has been working on a couple of films, including sci-fi, a historical and spy action thriller. "I have 2-3 ideas - one is a historical film, and the other is like a James Bond film - not exactly James Bond, but I'm using the term for categorization. Also, there's a science fiction idea, similar to 2012". ## The filmmaker, however, admitted that all the aforementioned films he is working on are high-budget projects and would demand a lot of VFX. "So definitely those films will bring the technology that it demands. I will go through all the new technology that it requires and I will use that", he added.## Meanwhile, Shankar's last directorial flick was sci-fi actioner, 2.0, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the leading roles. Mumbai, July 4 - Marvel Studios' highly-anticipated superhero movie Deadpool and Wolverine hits three weeks box office projections which indicate the record-breaking opening for the movie, not only of the year but also for an R-rated title ever. ## According to Deadline (which quoted three-week-in-advance box office tracking services), Deadpool 3 is tracking to open, at least, $160 million - $165 million in its three-day opening weekend (July 26-28) at the North American box office. It will be the biggest start of the year, beating Inside Out 2 ($154.2 million). ## The $160 million - $165 million opening projections could be conservative as a tracking report from tracking service Quorum, projected $200+ million start, and per Deadline, the agency is still sticking to its numbers. Even if Deadpool & Wolverine isn't as sharp as that projection, it's still bound for a fantastic start. ## As said, Deadpool 3 is aiming at the biggest R-rated debut domestically, given the projection stands. The first Deadpool movie made history by opening to $132.40 million domestically in February 2016, which is still the biggest R-rated box office debut. Deadpool 2, released in May 2018, debuted at $125.5 million.## As reported recently, the pre-sales of Deadpool 3 broke the first-day record of 2024 and probably has the highest advance sales so far for any movie of the year. Directed by Shawn Levy, the movie stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively, alongside Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Matthew Macfadyen.## The movie is scheduled to be released on July 26, and in India, it will be released in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, July 4 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD has beaten Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's Fighter to score the biggest first week of 2024 at the Hindi box office. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD has earned approximately 152.30 crores net collection in Hindi in 7 days so far, whereas, Fighter had scored 146.50 crores in its extended first week. Both the movies have had a Thursday release, leading to an 8-day extended week. ## Interestingly, Siddharth Anand's directorial, Fighter had posted a bigger opening weekend with approximately 118.50 crores net than Kalki 2898 AD's 109 crores. However, there will be, at least, a 15 crores difference between the two films at the end of the full first week with marching ahead. ## Fighter scored approximately 212.75 crores net collection in its lifetime run which Kalki could topple in the second weekend to become the biggest Hindi grosser of the year. Kalki also crossed the total collection of Ajay Devgn's Shaitaan which is now the third biggest Hindi grosser of 2024 domestically with approximately 148.25 crores net. ## At the worldwide box office, the Prabhas-starrer sci-fi epic has grossed an estimated 641 crores, including 468 crores in India in all languages.
