Hyderabad, May 30 - Superstar Mahesh Babu's cult classic Khaleja re-release is all set to take an excellent opening at the worldwide box office after scoring one of the best pre-sales for an Indian movie. The movie is set to hit the big screen on May 30. ## Originally released in 2010, the fantasy action comedy has been remastered in 4K for its re-release, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. For the opening day alone, Khaleja has scored approximately 3.50+ crore gross advance sales domestically, including the special night shows on May 29. ## This is one of the biggest pre-sales for a re-release title in India, which indicates a big opening. On the online ticketing platform, Book My Show, Khaleja has sold nearly 200K tickets before the first show begins, and this is the highest ever for a Telugu re-release movie. The overseas sales are also very good. ## Given the hype and advance sales, Khaleja is expected to achieve a record-breaking opening day for a re-released film in India. If the movie manages to have a good run, it might emerge as the biggest re-release grosser in the country, but that is a long way to go. ## Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, the movie also stars Anushka Shetty as the female lead, alongside Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Shafi, Sunil, Ali, and Subbaraju in supporting roles. Mumbai, May 29 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar-fronted Housefull 5 is set to hit the big screen on June 6, and the trade is bullish on this comedy entertainer, directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. ## The Bollywood box office has been in good shape for the last couple of months, and the trade is expecting Housefull 5 to extend this good run. Before the movie hits the big screen, all eyes will be on how the advance booking of it goes. ## According to the latest reports, the makers are set to open advance booking of the film by Saturday evening or Sunday morning (May 31/June 1). The buzz for the movie is positive, and the trade is expecting it to emerge as Akshay's biggest opening, which will, however, depend on how pre-sales perform. ## Meanwhile, the advances for Housefull 5 have already opened in some international markets, and the initial response is reportedly positive. Mumbai, May 29 - Bollywood heartthrob Kartik Aaryan and director Anurag Basu have teamed up for the first time for an untitled musical love story film. The film, which was originally supposed to be titled Aashiqui 3, features Sreeleela as the female lead, also marking her Bollywood debut. ## The film was announced earlier this year with a Diwali 2025 release date. However, according to the latest report by The Hollywood Reporter India, the love story is set to be delayed to a new date, possibly to 2026. ## It is said that Anurag Basu has completed 40% of the total shoot of the film after it went on floors in March this year. Kartik, meanwhile, recently started filming for Dharma Productions' "Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri," while Basu is also busy in the post-production of his next, "Metro... In Dino,". ## Given the current commitments of both Kartik and Basu, the report states that the next schedule of their film is likely to kick off in August this year, and this makes things difficult to ready the film by October, which means the film is unlikely to be released on Diwali this year. ## THR India reports that the makers are likely to look for a Valentine's Day 2026 release, however, that date is also impossible as Kartik Aaryan's "Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri" is already scheduled for February 13, 2026, release. ## Meanwhile, with the postponement of Kartik's film is certain, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna's "Thama" with Maddock Films is set to get a solo release this Diwali. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, May 29 - Kannada superstar Yash has begun filming for epic Ramayana, being directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The actor is playing the role of Raavan alongside Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Sunny Deol as Bajrang Bali. ## The mega-budgeted two-part epic has roped in a celebrated Hollywood stunt director, Guy Norris, to choreograph action sequences. Norris had previously designed action sequences of "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," "Mad Max: Fury Road," and "The Suicide Squad," among others. ## Norris is currently in India working closely with Yash to craft set pieces that could redefine Indian cinema's approach to large-scale spectacle. A couple of pictures of Norris with Yash leaked online, in which the duo seems to be discussing the action scenes. ## Ramayana is produced by Yash's Monster Mind Creations and Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios. Mumbai, May 28 - Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has teamed up with KGF producer, Hombale Films, for a big Pan India film. An unexpected announcement was made official on Wednesday, May 28. ## Hombale Films has established itself as one of South India's biggest production houses, delivering a couple of the country's biggest blockbusters in the form of KGF films, Kantara, and Salaar. The studio currently has Kantara: Chapter 1, Salaar 2, and a couple of other big projects in the pipeline. ## While the specific details about the Hrithik x Hombale project, including the rest of the star cast, genre, and shooting timeline, are not known yet, it is said that the film is in early development. Mumbai, May 28 - Bollywood action star Tiger Shroff and actress Janhvi Kapoor are set to team up for the first time for a revenge action love story film, to be directed by Good Newwz director Raj Mehta. It will be Mehta's first directorial since Akshay Kumar-fronted Selfiee (2023). ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, the film has been titled Lag Jaa Gale. It is said that Mehta has been working on the script for a while and wanted to have a first-time pairing on board. Both Tiger and Janhvi instantly agreed to come on board the film upon hearing the narration. ## "The team was contemplating several titles, and felt that Lag Jaa Gale is the apt one for the story. It's a pure revenge actioner with a strong love story in the backdrop", says the report. ## The pre-production of Lag Jaa Gale has begun, and it will go on floors by October this year for the second half of 2026 release on the big screen. Karan Johar will produce the film under his banner, Dharma Productions. Chennai, May 26 - Superstar Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagraj have teamed up for the first time of action drama Coolie, which is among the most-anticipated Indian movies of the year. The film, produced by Sun Pictures, boasts a solid cast which also includes Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, and Aamir Khan in key roles. ## Coolie is reportedly among the costliest Tamil movies ever with the budget of around 350 crores, according to the report by Pinkvilla. The budget includes the staggering salary of Rajinikanth and director Lokesh, along with other actors. ## As per the report, Rajini has received an upfront salary of 150 crores, which is among the highest of all time for an actor. Lokesh, on the other hand, got a pay cheque for 50 crore for the film, which is also reportedly a record for a director. ## "The remaining 150 crore have been spent on mounting the film, alongside the fees for other members of the star-cast. The total budget of Coolie excluding print and publicity is Rs 350 crore", says the report. It is understood that the makers have kept around 25 crore aside for print and publicity of the movie, making it a 375 crore budgeted title. ## Reportedly, the makers have already fetched huge non-theatrical deals for Coolie while theatrical rights are also expected to be sold for record prices. Mumbai, May 26 - Producer Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, in association with Zee Studios, has announced the new release date of Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri-fronted Dhadak, which is the sequel to 2018's Dhadak, starring Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor. ## On Monday (May 26), the studio took to social media to drop the first look poster, confirming that the movie will hit the big screen on August 1 this year. In one of the posters, Siddhant is seen with fire in his eyes, embracing Triptii in a protective grip. The second poster presents a close-up of Triptii’s character, her expression tender yet resolved as she clings to the man she loves. ## The tagline in the posters reads, "Marne aur ladne mese ek ko chunna ho, toh ladna", which translates to, "If you ever have to choose between dying or fighting, then choose to fight", which reflects the film's tone and theme. ## Directed by Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 is said to be the remake of 2018's Tamil movie, Pariyerum Perumal. Hyderabad, May 26 - Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is set to keep the 'A'-rated (18+) tone for his upcoming film Spirit, starring Pan India superstar Prabhas and actress Tripti Dimri. The movie was earlier supposed to feature Deepika Padukone as the female lead, but she has now been replaced by Tripti. ## Sandeep Vanga has directed 3 films so far, and all of them were A-rated. With Spirit, the maverick filmmaker is not going to change his style, and has reportedly conveyed the same to the lead pair. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, the cop action thriller will be a quintessential Telugu entertainer, but the director is bringing a twist to the genre by spinning in an A-rated twist. "Apart from the use of ample blood in the action scenes, Spirit will also boast a lot of bold sequences featuring the two leads", says the report. ## The report further states that SRV has conveyed the requirement of shooting bold scenes to both Prabhas and Tripti, and they have agreed to the same.
