Mumbai, April 19 - After a decent opening day, superstar Akshay Kumar's historical drama Kesari: Chapter 2 has witnessed a fantastic growth on day 2, Saturday, as collection flirting with the double digit mark which is very good given the fact that the opening day was a holiday. ## Kesari 2 has a growth of 25%-35% today, as early estimates suggest the collection to be in the range of 9.50-10 crores net, which is superb. The total collection of the movie is around 17.25+ crores in 2 days, putting the weekend on track for around 30 crores. ## While the overall collection of the movie is decent, the jump in collection after the partial holiday has put Kesari 2 in a much better position, as it has managed to strike a chord with its target audience. The word of mouth is supremely positive, which is expected to play its part during weekdays. ## Meanwhile, Sunny Doel's action drama Jaat maintained the steady hold as collections are more or less similar from the second Friday, which was a partial holiday. According to the early estimates, the film is looking to score 3.75-4 crores net on the second day/day 10. ## The total collection of Jaat is around 69.50 crores net in 10 days, heading for around 73-75 crores through the second weekend. Mumbai, April 19 - Superstar Mohanlal's action thriller L2: Empuraan is nearing its box office run but not before creating history for Malayalam cinema. The movie has emerged as the highest-grossing Mollywood film ever. ## Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film has grossed 266+ crores at the worldwide box office so far. In India, it has minted around 124 crores gross, while overseas collection is around 142 crores. L2 is the biggest Malayalam grosser at the domestic as well as overseas box office, while it will finish as the second biggest grosser in Kerala, behind 2018. ## Meanwhile, the makers have revealed that the total business of Empuraan is 325 crores, which includes theatrical and non-theatrical business (so far). There have been rumours that the film's OTT and satellite rights were sold for 100 crores, but the latest update from the makers reveals that non-theatrical rights are not more than 60 crores.## The non-theatrical rights of the movie are said to be the second highest ever for a Malayalam film, behind Dulquer Salmaan's King of Kotha. The political controversy around the movie has put a dent in Empuraan's OTT rights otherwise, it could have scored the biggest deal. ## Empuraan is produced by Aashirvad Cinemas in association with Sree Gokulam Movies. Mumbai, April 19 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's much-awaited action drama King is generating a significant buzz even though the makers are taking longer than expected to take it on the floors. The movie reunites King Khan with director Siddharth Anand after the mega blockbuster Pathaan. King features SRK in the title role alongside his daughter Suhana Khan (in her big-screen debut), Abhishek Bachchan and Munjya fame Abhay Varma. Now, according to the latest report by Peepingmoon.com, the makers have roped in Arshad Warsi to play a key role in the film. While details about Warsi's character remain undisclosed, his involvement is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the film. The upcoming films marks the duo's maiden collaboration, excluding Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye in which SRK made a guest appearnce. Recently, it was reported that Deepika Padukone would make a cameo appearance in King, but director Siddharth Anand seemingly denied the rumours. However, reports strongly say that she will be part of the movie despite the refusal from the team. Chennai, April 19 - Thala Ajith Kumar's action comedy Good Bad Ugly has surpassed 200 crores gross worldwide, becoming the first Tamil movie of the year. The movie entered this prestigious club on its 9th day as one of the fastest Tamil titles to do so. ## GBU has been doing excellent business since its opening day and eventually stormed past the double century at the global box office. In the 9 days so far, the film has grossed approximately 205+ crores, and with this, it has also become the biggest grosser for the Tamil superstar, beating Viswasam and Thunivu. ## In India, the blockbuster has grossed around 148 crores, which includes around 123 crores gross collection in the home state, Tamil Nadu. It is now Ajith Kumar's second biggest grosser in the state behind Viswasam. Mumbai, April 17 - Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has reunited with his director father David Dhawan for a comic caper Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, which is currently on floors. Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde are playing the female leads.## According to the report by Pinkvilla, the team has completed over 50% of the film shoot, and the next month-long schedule is set to take place in Scotland, starting from April 22. Mumbai, April 17 - The sequel to Salman Khan and Anil Kapoor's cult comedy No Entry (2005) has been in development for a long time with a new cast featuring Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Arjun Kapoor in the lead roles. Anees Bazmee has written the script and will return to direct it. ## According to the latest reports, the makers have locked Tamannaah Bhatia to play one of the female lead roles. The actress has reportedly signed the project and is excited to explore the comedy genre. It is said that she will be seen in a role similar to Bipasha Basu's character from the original movie.## Apart from Tamannah, the makers are in talks with Aditi Rao Hydari about playing another female lead. Mumbai, April 16 - Sunny Deol-fronted action drama Jaat has another decent hold on its first Wednesday as early estimates suggest collection in the range of 3.75-4.25 crores net, which is a drop of around 30% from Tuesday. ## The total collection of the film is around 57.50 crores net in 7 days, as the first 8-day extended week is heading for 60-61 crores, which is a good collection. It has already become Sunny Deol's third biggest grosser after Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and Gadar 2 in terms of net collection. ## The second weekend will be crucial for Jaat in its pursuit to enter the 100 crores club. Kochi, April 16 - Superstar Mohanlal's crime suspense thriller Drishyam is one of the most popular franchises to come from Malayalam cinema, and it reached the next level with the remake versions, especially the Bollywood star Ajay Devgn-led Hindi remake. ## The second part of the original film was directly released on OTT in 2021, before the Hindi remake set the box office on fire in 2022 with around 350 crores gross worldwide. Ajay Devgn has confirmed that the work on Drishyam 3 will begin soon, but it might be in trouble, as per the latest report. ## Recently, Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph confirmed Drishyam 3, and now, according to the latest report by Mid-Day, the Malayalam makers are also targeting the Hindi audience with the upcoming film as it is already a popular franchise in North India due to the remake versions.## The report says that Mohanlal and Joseph are keen to make Drishyam 3 a bilingual offering to be released in Malayalam and Hindi to make it a proper pan-India outing. Mumbai, April 16 - The Farhan Akhtar's directorial action thriller Don 3 starring Ranveer Singh was back in the news recently for unwanted reasons when it was revealed that Kiara Advani backed out of playing the female lead due to her pregnancy. ## The news of Kiara leaving the film left the makers searching for another able actress to play the role, but it didn't take much time of makers to find the leading lady to star opposite Ranveer. According to the report by Bollywood Hungama, Akhtar has locked Munjya fame Sharvari Wagh to replace the outgoing actress. ## "Sharvari and one more actress were being considered, but the former has managed to bag the role. The team at Excel Entertainment are excited to have her on board.
