Mumbai, March 24 - In a surprising turn of events and the rumours of the re-release of Awarapan, Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has announced the sequel to his cult classic romance action drama on the occasion of his birthday. ## Awarapan is one of the most loved films of Emraan Hashmi and its popularity over the years makes it a cult classic. For the last few weeks, there have been rumours that the makers would re-release it amid the growing demand but the team has treated the fans with a bigger surprise by announcing Awarapan 2. ## The film will be produced by Mukesh Bhatt and Vishesh Bhatt under the banner of Vishesh Films. It is not yet confirmed if Mohit Suri, who directed the original film, will return to helm the sequel. Mumbai, March 24 - Superstar Mohanlal's much-anticipated action thriller L2: Empuraan continues to wreak havoc in the advance bookings, re-writing records for Malayalam cinema. It has already become the biggest Malayalam opener with pre-sales only but there is more to come. ## The pre-sales of Empuraan on the opening day are 35+ crores, and the same has crossed 50 crores gross for the entire opening weekend at the worldwide box office, with 3 days still left for the release. It has become the first Malayalam movie to hit 50 crores in sales before its release. ## At the overseas box office, Empuraan's pre-sales gross is nearing $4 million (30+ crore gross) while domestic sales are 23+ crore gross. Interestingly, the movie has already recorded the biggest collection in many countries for a Malayalam film. In Germany, Empuraan's advance sales have crossed the lifetime collection of the recent mega blockbuster Pushpa 2 which is remarkable. ## With still 3 days left, the movie is heading towards 70 crore bookings for the weekend and 40-45 crore gross for the first day globally. The movie is guaranteed to open with 50+ crores gross worldwide, a milestone no one saw coming. Mumbai, March 23 - Superstar Salman Khan's much-awaited action drama Sikandar is all set to hit the big screens on March 30, Sunday, a day before the Eid festival. The trailer of the movie was launched on Sunday at an event in Mumbai and it has been receiving wide praise. ## Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar is one of the marquee Bollywood releases of the year and as per the latest development, the advance booking for the same will be opened on March 25, Tuesday. The pre-sales are expected to open with a bang and the movie will look to score one of the best advances of the year. ## Sikandar is the second back-to-back film by Salman Khan to release on Sunday, letting go of the weekend advantage. Earlier, the actor's spy action thriller Tiger 3 was released on Sunday on the occasion of Diwali 2023 and took the opening of over 44 crores net. Mumbai, March 23 - The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has concluded its investigation and has filed the closure report into the mysterious death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, according to PTI. The report was submitted to a special court in Mumbai, which will now decide whether to accept it or order further investigation. ## Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai, on June 14, 2020, at the age of 34. The CBI has determined that the actor's death was a case of suicide, with no evidence of foul play or criminal conspiracy. The CBI took over the case in August 2020 from the Bihar Police after the Supreme Court ordered it to conduct a thorough probe since there were conflicting reports of the Patna and Mumbai Police.## Subsequently, Sushant's father KK Singh lodged an FIR with the Patna Police in Bihar accusing actor Rhea Chakraborty and others of abetting his son's suicide. A counter-complaint by Chakraborty against Rajput's family was also investigated. The closure report addresses both cases, finding no substantiation for the allegations made by either party. Forensic experts from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) supported the CBI's conclusion.## The investigation involved recording statements from Chakraborty and others close to Rajput, as well as examining medical and forensic evidence, including a laptop, camera, and mobile phones. Despite extensive scrutiny, no evidence emerged to suggest anyone drove Rajput to suicide or that his death involved foul play. The report effectively clears Rhea Chakraborty, her family, and others named in the initial FIRs, ending a high-profile case that sparked widespread speculation and media attention.## The Mumbai Police had initially treated the death as a suicide, finding no signs of forced entry or a suicide note. However, the case gained significant traction after Rajput's family pursued legal action, leading to CBI involvement. While the closure report marks the agency's final stance, Rajput's family retains the option to file a protest petition if they disagree with the findings. Hyderabad, March 22 - After the historic success of Pushpa 2 - The Rule, superstar Allu Arjun is gearing up to start his next film which is with Jawan director Atlee. The movie has been news for the last few months for many reasons and things are finally on track. ## Contrary to the rumours, Sun Pictures will be bankrolling the maiden collaboration of Allu Arjun and Atlee, and the studio will be investing a huge money in the same. As the movie is proceeding with the pre-production work, some blockbuster details have emerged regarding the remuneration and shooting. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Allu Arjun is set to become the highest-paid actor with this upcoming mega-budget Parallel Universe film. It is said that the Pan India superstar has locked a deal worth Rs 175 crore with the producer along with a backend deal of a 15 per cent stake in profits. ## "It's the biggest front-end deal signed by an actor in the modern era, and Allu has allotted bulk dates to Atlee and Sun Pictures from August 2025. Kochi, March 22 - Superstar Mohanlal's highly-anticipated Malayalam action thriller L2: Empuraan has shattered a massive record in advance booking, beating the biggies of Bollywood and Tollywood industries. ## Empuraan is witnessing an unprecedented demand for tickets across Kerala state and this led to the record-breaking response on the first day itself. The pre-sales of the movie were opened on March 21, and in the first 24 hours, it sold 628K tickets on the ticketing platform Book My Show which is a record. ## No other film ever has sold more than 350K tickets in the first 24 hours of opening of advance booking on the platform. The previous biggest was Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD which sold 341.78K tickets on the first day and now, Empuraan has topped this by nearly a double margin. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan is the third on the list with 253K tickets. ## These 628K tickets sold are for all days, and not necessarily for the opening day of the release. The movie is scheduled to hit the big screen on March 27, and for that day, it has already sold over 500K tickets which is the highest ever for a Malayalam title by a good margin. ## Meanwhile, in terms of advance gross collection, Empuraan has minted around 12 crores (including fan shows) for the first day in India. Worldwide, the pre-sales have crossed the 30 crore mark which is already the highest first-day collection for a Mollywood film. Mumbai, March 22 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted action drama Salaar Part 1 - Ceasefire was re-released on March 21 and it did fantastic business at the domestic box office. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film was originally released in December 2023. ## Salaar: Ceasfire re-released without any special occasion, an unusual Telugu thing. On its first day, the film grossed approximately 3 crore in India, which is the biggest re-release opener for a Prabhas-starrer. It wasn't released in North India, otherwise, the opening could have been higher. ## The advance booking gross of Salaar: Ceasefire was one of the highest for an Indian title which led the foundation of a very good opening. The movie was expected to score ever higher opening but lack of release in North probably reduced its potential, though the numbers are still fantastic and easily the biggest opening for a re-release title in India in 2025. ## During its original run, the action blockbuster scored approximately 618 crores at the worldwide box office, including 488 crores in India. Kochi, March 22 - Superstar Mohanlal's action thriller L2: Empuraan has shattered many records even before the first show begins. The movie has been creating a sensation ever since the advance booking opened in India and worldwide and this has led it to create records. ## Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Empuraan pre-sales have crossed 10 crore gross in India for the opening day (including fan shows) while worldwide sales are nearing 30 crore gross. With this, it has become the biggest Malayalam opener of all time worldwide with pre-sales only. ## The previous biggest Mollywood opener was Mohanlal's Marakkar (20+ crores gross) and Empuraan is already 10 crores more with still 5 days left for the release. The booking trend indicates the film to open with 50+ crores gross worldwide which looked unthinkable before for a small film industry like Mollywood. ## Empuraan is sure to become the biggest Malayalam grosser of all time, by beating Manjummal Boys (241 crores gross). Mumbai, March 21 - Superstar Akshay Kumar reunites with Arshad Warsi for the third instalment of courtroom comedy drama Jolly LLB after separately headlining the first two films. Directed by Subhash Kapoor, Jolly LLB 3 is easily one of the most anticipated Bollywood films of the year and the makers have finally locked the release date. ## Produced by Star Studios, Kangra Talkies, and Cape of Good Films, Jolly LLB 3 has been confirmed to hit the big screens on September 19, 2025. It was earlier supposed to be released in April this year but due to Akshay's Kesari 2 shifting in this month, Jolly LLB 3 has now been moved to September. ## The film pits Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi against each other inside the court, marking the first time when the duo is coming together in this 3-film franchise. Mumbai, March 21 - Vicky Kaushal-fronted historical action drama Chhaava is doing excellent business at the box office. Based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Chhaava is already the highest-grossing Indian film of the year with a worldwide collection of around 775 crores gross. ## Chhaava is currently running in its 6th week and nearing 800 crores gross collection. The movie will run in theatres for a minimum of 8 weeks before it is made available on OTT, however, even before the deadline, it has been hit by massive piracy and the investigation has begun for the same. ## According to the reports, Chhaava's HD prints have been leaked online and the Mumbai Police is said to have registered a case in this matter. The movie was deliberately leaked online through pirated sites on more than 1800 digital links. This isn't the first time a Bollywood film has leaked before its official digital release as there have been many such cases in the past. ## It is said that producer Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films anticipated this illegal activity and reportedly hired an anti-piracy agency to handle this matter legally. The South Cyber ​​Cell has reportedly registered a case under sections 316 (2) and 308 (3) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS), sections 51, 63 and 65 (A) of the Copyright Act, sections 43 and 66 of the Information Technology (IT) Act.## Chhaava is directed by Laxman Utekar and it stars Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj alongside Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale and Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb.
