Mumbai, January 15 - IMDb has unveiled the list of the top 20 most anticipated Indian movies of 2025, and the blockbuster list is topped by superstar Salman Khan's action drama Sikandar. The list includes 11 Bollywood titles, 3 Tamil and Telugu titles each, 2 Kannada movies and 1 Malayalam movie. ## Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, is scheduled to hit the big screens on Eid. Expressing his gratitude for Sikandar being the most anticipated movie, director Murugadoss said, "Working with Salman Khan has been incredible! His energy and dedication bring Sikandar to life in ways words can't express. Every scene in Sikandar is crafted to leave an indelible mark! I've poured my heart into designing each moment to stay with audiences forever". ## The second most anticipated movie is superstar Yash's Kannada film Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas. The Pan India action drama film is currently in production and is expected to be released in December this year. It is Yash's first movie since the mega blockbuster and the highest-grossing Kannada movie, KGF: Chapter 2 in April 2022. ## Superstar Rajinikanth's action thriller Coolie with director Lokesh Kanagaraj is the most anticipated Tamil film of the year and it takes the 3rd spot among the Indian movies. Mumbai, January 14 - A sequel to the musical romantic drama Gully Boy is reportedly in the works without the original cast of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, and director Zoya Akhtar. The blockbuster film will complete 6 years on February 14. ## According to the Filmfare report, Vicky Kaushal and Ananya Pandey will headline the much-awaited sequel while Arjun Varain Singh, who previously helmed Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, will direct it. If gets confirmed, it will mark Vicky and Ananya's first film together. ## "Arjun Varain Singh, who directed Kho Gaye Hum Kahan for Excel and Tiger Baby, is slated to direct the Gully Boy sequel. He's confident that Ananya, who was his heroine in Kho Gaye, will be the perfect girl to lead the project. Vicky has been attached with the sequel for a long time now", says the report. ## Released in 2019, Gully Boy is inspired by the lives of street rappers Divine and Naezy. It tells the story of Murad, played by Ranveer, a young aspiring rapper from Mumbai's slums. Mumbai, January 13 - Telugu veteran Nandamuri Balakrishna's action drama Daaku Maharaaj exceeded expectations on its first to score over 30 crores gross at the domestic box office, proving to be the second biggest opener for the actor. ## On the second day, the film is seeing a good hold as early estimates suggest the collection in the range of 13-15 crores gross in Telugu states, dropping around 50% from Sunday. Overall, Daaku Maharaj is expected to score 15-17 crores gross collection on Monday. ## Daaku Maharaj's total domestic collection after 2 days is around 45+ crores gross, which is fantastic ahead of the long holiday Pongal period. The movie is likely to storm the box office over the next couple of days and will look to go past the 100 crores gross mark during this period. ## On the other hand, superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer has plummeted further on Monday as India gross is expected to be in the range of 10 crores gross, as per estimates. In Telugu states, it is likely to earn 6-7 crores gross on its 4th day. ## The Hindi version of the film, which did decently in the first weekend, witnessed a big drop on Monday to score around 1.50-1.75 crores net collection. The movie has been disappointing so far with poor trends at the box office, and to cover the lost ground, it has the next couple of days of the Pongal/Sankranthi holidays. Mumbai, January 13 - Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for a busy next few years during which he will be seen headlining some of the biggest films in the making. The actor is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War along with Nitesh Tiwari's epic Ramayana, both scheduled to hit the big screens in 2026. ## Recently, it was reported that Ranbir has been locked in to lead Yash Raj Films' long-awaited Dhoom 4, which was officially announced more than a decade ago but the production never took off due to some reasons. But now, things are moving fast and production is set to begin next year. ## According to the India Today report, Dhoom 4 will start filming in April 2026. The makers are currently looking to cast 2 female leads and an antagonist. Key contenders to play the antagonist in the film are being considered from the South. ## Ranbir will wrap up both Love & War and Ramayana (both parts) before starting Dhoom 4 as it will need him to have a different look from his other movies. Interestingly, in the previous films of the franchise, the main lead of the film had the shades of an anti-hero, and going by the latest report, it looks like Ranbir's character will be entirely different. This marks Anthony Mackie's first full-fledged Captain America film in the title role after Chris Evans retired from this duty. ## Directed by Julius Onah, the film hits the screens in less than five weeks, and the first box office projection revealed it is heading for an opening close to 2014's Captain America: Winter Soldier which opened to $95 million over Friday to Sunday weekend at the domestic (North America) box office. ## According to Deadline, The Brave New World, which is a reset of the franchise, is expected to do $86 million to $95 million over the 3-day Valentine's Day Day weekend and $100+ million over Friday to Monday over Presidents' Day weekend domestically. ## There is every possibility of bigger weekend totals for the film as Deadline reports that on the tracking service Quorum, Captain America: Brave New World has the most awareness of movies opening in February 2025 and those debuting in the same weekend. ## Marvel Studios rules the 4-day Presidents' Day weekend openers domestically with the top three with 2018's Black Panther ($242.1 million), Deadpool ($152.1 million) and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ($120.3 million). Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania posted a 3-day of $106.1 million, Deadpool's was $132.4 million, while Black Panther's was $202 million.## It is intended to be the fourth instalment in the Captain America film series, a continuation of the television miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021), and the 35th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Hyderabad, January 12 - Telugu veteran Nandamuri Balakrishna's action drama Daaku Maharaaj is off to a flying start at the domestic box office. The film records the second biggest opening for the actor who is expected to complete the hat-trick of successes with the latest one. ## Directed by Bobby Kolli, Daaku Maharaaj started on a fantastic note in the morning shows, and thanks to the initial positive reception, the occupancies kept increasing throughout the day. The movie already had a positive buzz which led to good pre-sales before the fantastic opening. ## According to the early estimates, Daaku Maharaj is expected to gross 21-23+ crores on its first day in Telugu states, making it the second biggest start for NBK on the home turf. The overall first-day collection is expected to be in the range of 25-27 crores gross which is excellent. ## The initial word of mouth, as said, is positive and in all likelihood, it will remain the number 1 choice of moviegoers during the Sankranti weekend. Hyderabad, January 12 - Superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer has an underwhelming first weekend at the domestic box office where the movie failed to score any growth on Sunday owing to stiff competition and mixed to negative word of mouth. ## According to the early estimates, Game Changer has minted a disappointing around 8 crore gross in Telugu states on Sunday, dropping around 35% from Saturday. In other Southern states, the movie has scored an estimated 3 crore gross. ## The Hindi version is holding well, owing to the better audience reception, and is proving to be the only saving grace for the movie so far. On Sunday, the dubbed version is witnessing a slight jump to collect an estimated 7.50-8 crores net collection. ## Overall, Game Changer is expected to gross 20-21 crores on Sunday with a drop of around 20%. The total domestic collection has crossed 100 crores gross at around 106+ crores. The drop over the weekend means the movie is facing rejection outside the Hindi market and once the holiday period is over, it will find extremely difficult to sustain at the box office. ## Stay tuned...

Kochi, January 12 - Unni Mukundan's action thriller Marco is in the last leg of its box office run but running out of time, it has done what no other A-rated Malayalam film did in the past as it has become the first adult-rated Mollywood title to to 100 crores at the worldwide box office. ## Touted as India's most violent film, Marco was released on December 20, ahead of the Christmas weekend in 2024. It opened to rave reviews from critics and audiences alike which led to a rampage at the box office and ended the year, what was remarkable Mollywood on the whole, on high. ## On its 24th day (4th Sunday), the Haneef Adeni-directed blockbuster stormed past the 100 crores mark at the worldwide box office. In India, the film has grossed approximately 68.50 crores while the overseas collection is around 32 crores for a global total of 100.50+ crores in 24 days. ## Marco is the 6th Malayalam film of 2024 and 9th of all-time to surpass the 100 crores gross mark worldwide.
