Hyderabad, November 9 - Telugu superstar Jr. NTR is basking on the success of the action drama Devara: Part 1 which grossed over 420 crores at the worldwide box office. This was the actor's second release in nearly 6 years and now, he is gearing up for back-to-back films. ## Jr. NTR is currently shooting for Yash Raj Films' spy action thriller War 2 which marks his Bollywood debut. He will soon start director Prashanth Neel's action drama, tentatively titled Dragon, and now according to the latest reports, the actor has locked in one more film. ## As per the latest Telugu media reports, the RRR star has been in talks with Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar for a film. It is said that Nelson narrated a few story ideas to Jr. NTR and one of them will be locked soon. It will be the actor's next after Dragon. ## Nelson last directed superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer which was a huge blockbuster last year. His next directorial is Jailer 2 with the superstar and the production for the same is expected to begin once Rajinikanth finishes work on director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie. Either Sun Pictures or KVN Productions is expected to producer NTR's film.## Jr. NTR, on the other hand, also has the second part of Devara with director Koratala Siva. Hyderabad, October 5 - After the very good first-week collection, superstar Jr. NTR's action drama Devara - Part 1 entered the second with a decent hold on Friday, especially in Telugu states along with Hindi belt and Karnataka. ## On its second Saturday, Devara is showing a good jump of around 40% in terms of all India collections. In Telugu states, the movie is expected to gross in the range of 5.50-6 crores while in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, around 1.50 crores gross collection is expected, as per estimates.## In the North Belt, the film is estimated to gross in the range of 3 crores while the Hindi version is expected to score 2.75-3 crores net collection on its second Saturday (9th day). Overall, Devara is expected to score 10+ crore gross (8.50+ crores net) collection today, per estimates. ## The total collection of the movie after the second Saturday is around 272+ crores gross (230 crores net). The movie has done well in Telugu states, Karnataka and North India, despite the mixed word of mouth. Chennai, October 5 - Superstar Rajinikanth returns to the big screen after the blockbuster success of Jailer last year with the upcoming action drama Vettaiyan. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the movie is scheduled to release on October 10, coinciding with Vijayadasami.## Vettaiyan has been carrying decent buzz among the fans and is expected to take a very good start at the box office. Overseas, which has always been a strong market for Rajinikanth, the movie is heading for a good start after looking at the initial pre-sales response. ## As per the latest update, the overseas pre-sales of Vettaiyan have crossed $1 million (8.50+ crores) for the opening day, including $700K+ in North America. In Malaysia, it has so far sold over 10K tickets worth $50K+ for the opening day. ## The pre-sales of Vettaiyan, however, are not as strong as that of Jailer which took the opening of 40 crores ($4.75 million). Los Angeles, October 5 - A few months after Benedict Cumberbatch offered a disappointing update on the third instalment of Marvel Studios Doctor Strange, a new report has emerged which has sparked excitement among the fans. ## According to a new report from The InSneider (via The Direct), Marvel Studios is nearing a deal with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness director Sam Raimi to return and direct the trilogy-completing threequel.## Raimi previously helmed 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, taking over the franchise from initial Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson. If the director officially comes on board for the next movie, it will be his 5th Marvel movie which also includes the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire. ## Doctor Strange 3 hasn't been officially announced yet but the rumours are making rounds for quite some time about its development. Mumbai, October 5 - Warner Bros. Pictures' musical psychological thriller Joker: Folie à Deux/Joker 2 has scored a rare unwanted record. The movie is a sequel to a billion-dollar grosser, so there were high expectations from Joker 2.## However, unlike the high expectations, Joker 2 is turning out to be a nightmare for the studio and the talent involved, heading towards an all-time disaster at the box office. The chances of a box office rebound are also unlikely due to terrible audience reception. ## Joker 2 has become the first comic book movie to receive 'D' CinemaScore. It is the second-worst CinemaScore rating, just above the 'F' rating. Chennai, September 5 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time was released on this day last year, in 2024. Directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment, the GOAT finished its box office run as one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of all time. The GOAT was released on September 5, on Thursday and scored the second biggest opening ever for a Tamil title at the worldwide box office with 100 crores gross collection. It is also the third-biggest opening for an Indian title of 2024 after Kalki 2898 AD and Devara. The movie received a mixed reception from critics and audiences, and despite that, Thalapathy Vijay pulled off a fantastic first weekend with approximately 281 crores gross worldwide. It was, however, a different story when it came to the different parts of the country as far as the box office was concerned. The GOAT, after the not-so-encouraging reception, didn't get the desired result in Telugu states and Kerala, where Vijay's popularity was soaring. The actor's last film, Leo, did wonders in AP/TG and Kerala with over 100 crores gross, but this time, things weren't the same as The GOAT minted only 27 crores gross approx. in those states. In Karnataka and the Hindi belt, the GOAT did reasonably well, but it was once again the home state, Tamil Nadu, where the movie was just unstoppable and turned out to be the biggest grosser ever there with over 217 crores gross. Mumbai, October 4 - Folk horror thriller Tumbbad triumphs in its re-release run domestically. It has been a standout performer among all the re-release titles at the Indian box office and has emerged as the biggest repeat gross ever. ## Directed by Rahi Anil Barve and produced by Sohum Shah, Tumbbad has completed 3 weeks (21 days) of its repeat run and has scored approximately 29 crores net collection (34.25 crores gross). In its third week, the film minted around 4.50 crores net which is fantastic as it faced competition from Devara apart from the holdover Stree 2.## Earlier, the Tumbbad re-release had scored 13.15 crores net in the first week, followed by 11.40 crores net in the second week. Hyderabad, October 4 - Superstar Jr. NTR is the latest action drama Devara: Part 1 is heading towards a box office success in Hindi after scoring a good first-week collection domestically and worldwide. ## Devara took a better-than-expected opening of 7.50 crores net approx, before showing good gains over the weekend in the dubbed Hindi version. The movie maintained a decent hold on the crucial Monday before the holiday factor boosted the collection again on Tuesday and Wednesday. ## The movie concluded the first week with approximately 44 crore net collection in Hindi, including approximately 2 crore net on Thursday. Mumbai, October 4 - Yash Raj Film's blockbuster Spy Universe is getting its first solo female-led movie, titled Alpha. The movie was officially announced earlier this year with Alia Bhatt stepping into the world of spies with Sharvari Wagh. ## As the shoot of Alpha is happening at a brisk pace, YRF has locked one of the biggest release dates of this much-anticipated blockbuster. Mumbai, October 4 - In a major surprise, producer Sajid Nadiadwala has officially announced the action comedy Kick 2, starring superstar Salman Khan. The sequel to 2014's blockbuster has been in the news for many years and has finally been confirmed. ## The movie was announced on October 4 with a first-look glimpse of Salman Khan's photoshoot for Kick 2. The photo shoot was done at the sets of Sikandar which is also being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. ## The first look glimpse of Kick 2 shows Salman Khan facing the camera. This has come out of the blue and has surely raised excitement among the fans. It is, however, not yet confirmed if Sajid Nadiadwala will also return to direct the sequel. ## Meanwhile, the shoot of Sikandar is happening at a brisk pace. It is directed by A.R.
