Mumbai, August 28 - After the blockbuster performance at the box office, Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD Hindi version debuted with good viewership on Netflix. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the movie started streaming on August 22, after 8 weeks of theatrical run. ## In its 4-day opening weekend, Kalki 2898 AD Hindi version scored 4.5 million views, which is more than Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's first 4-day viewership of 2.9 million but behind Hrithik Roshan's Fighter (5.9 million) and Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki (4.9 million).## Kalki was the second most-watched non-English film worldwide during the week of August 19 - August 25 on Netflix. It has been trending in the top 10 in 14 countries, including number 1 in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Outside Asia, the movie is trending in Mauritius and Nigeria. ## Earlier, the Hindi version of Kalki had a strong box office performance with over 400 crores in gross collection worldwide. In India, the movie scored approximately 293 crores in net collection (350 crores gross), which is the second highest of 2024 in the Hindi version. ## In all versions, the movie grossed over 1000 crores at the worldwide box office, including an estimated 765+ crores gross domestically. It is currently the highest-grossing Indian movie of 2024, followed by Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's Stree 2 with 600+ crores gross (14 days).## Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, the movie is set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD, and it follows a select group who are on a mission to save lab subject SUM-80's unborn child, Kalki. Hyderabad, August 28 - Natural star Nani's much-awaited action thriller Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is all set to hit the big screens on August 28. Directed by Vivek Athreya, the film managed to generate a good buzz, thanks to the teaser/trailer and other promotional activities.## Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is easily one of the most-anticipated tier 2 Telugu hero movies and this led to very good worldwide theatrical business for the film. According to the report by T2BLive, the movie managed to score the second highest business for a Nani-starrer after hit Dasara. ## In Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), Saripodhaa Sanivaaram's theatrical business is approximately 30 crores, including 12.50 crores for the Nizam area and 5 crores for Ceeded while Andhra region business is around 12.50 crores. ## Apart from AP/TG, the movie's rest of India business has been valued at approximately 5 crores while overseas theatrical rights are at 6 crores, making it a 41 crores worldwide business of the movie with a break-even target of 42 crores. It will need to score around 70 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office to emerge as a box office hit.## As said, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram has a good buzz and with a positive reception, it can easily break even its target. Nani's last film, Hi Nanna which was a romantic drama, grossed over 75 crores worldwide and was superhit at the box office. Chennai, August 27 - Thalapathy Vijay's most-awaited action thriller The Greatest of All-Time is set to be one of the longest Tamil films with over 3 hours of theatrical runtime. The movie, directed by Venkat Prabhu, is scheduled to be released on September 5 in multiple languages. ## The GOAT was recently censored with the UA certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with the runtime approved under 3 hours. However, due to some reasons, the makers sent the movie for re-censorship which resulted in longer than its original runtime. ## While the movie retained its UA certificate, the theatrical runtime is now 3 hours and 3 minutes (183 minutes). Mumbai, August 27 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-Fronted horror-comedy Stree 2 is heading towards the 500 crores net club which will make it only the 6th movie ever to do so in Hindi. The film, directed by Amar Kaushik, is by far the biggest Indian blockbuster of the year and one of the biggest of all time. ## Stree 2 was released on August 15, the same week Sunny Deol-fronted Gadar 2 debuted on the big screen last year (August 11). Just like the latest blockbuster, the Gadar sequel also turned out one of the biggest Indian blockbusters ever by earning over 500 crores in net collection and close to 700 crores at the worldwide box office. ## Interestingly, there isn't much difference between the domestic collection of Stree 2 and Gadar 2 in the first 12 days with the Shraddha Kapoor-starrer having a slight edge. Kochi, August 27 - Amid the sexual harassment allegations, the Malayalam superstar has regained as the president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). Along with him, all the members of the executive committee submitted their joint resignation. ## "AMMA has decided to disperse the executive committee on moral grounds in the light of allegations made by some actors against some of the committee members. Mumbai, August 27 - Maddock Films and Jio Studios' horror-comedy Stree 2 has become only the second Indian movie of 2024 to sell over 2 crores tickets at the Indian box office, after Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD. ## The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted blockbuster sold nearly 1 million tickets on its 12th day, second Monday (Krishna Janmashtami), for total footfalls of approximately 2.06 crores (20.06 million) in 12 days so far, behind just Kalki 2898 AD which has sold 3.63 crores of tickets. ## Notably, Stree 2 has sold 20+ million tickets in just a single language while Kalki is a multi-lingual movie. In Hindi, the Prabhas-starrer blockbuster sold approximately 1.56 crores of tickets in India which is the second highest of the year. Hrithik Roshan's Fighter is at three with 1.17 crores footfalls in Hindi.## At the box office, Stree 2 is nearing 500 crores gross collection in India. Mumbai, August 26 - After the all-time biggest second-weekend collection in Hindi, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted Stree 2 scores a good hold on its second Monday, which is a partial holiday on the account of Krishna Janmashtami.## The day-wise box office trend of Stree 2 has been heavily frontloaded so far, and the momentum continued on its 12th day (second Monday) though the drop is harsher than expected by around 60% for an estimated 17-18 crores net collection. ## The second Monday collection of Stree 2, however, is big enough to take the total to past 400 crores net at around 401+ crores, making it the first Hindi film of 2024 to do so. Mumbai, August 26 - Maverick director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is set to direct Pan India superstar Prabhas and Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor in his next films. The filmmaker delivered a monstrous blockbuster last year in the form of Ranbir Kapoor-fronted Animal which was the talk of the town after getting released in December.## It has been over 8 months since Animal was released and the fans are now waiting for the filmmaker's next film. During a recent interview, Vanga shared that he already has planned his next two films on which, he would be working for the next four years. ## As known to everyone, the Kabir Singh director has Prabhas-fronted Spirit as his next film. He shared an update that the pre-production work on the movie has already started and will be released in the next 2 years, which means in 2026 only.## The initial plan was to start the filming for Spirit by 2024 end and release it in 2025, however, it seems the shoot will start early next year for the 2026 theatrical debut, as revealed by the filmmaker. The movie will be a pure mass entertainer, unlike the previous 2 films of the director. ## After Spirit, Vanga will start Animal Park which is the sequel to Animal. Ranbir Kapoor will return to reprise his double roles as Ranvijay Singh Balbir and Aziz Haque. There is no shooting timeline set yet but the movie is expected to go on floors by the end of 2026 for a 2028 release. ## Both Spirit and Animal Park will be produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series with Vanga's Bhadrakali Pictures. Mumbai, August 26 - Bollywood has its first mega-blockbuster of 2024 as horror-comedy Stree 2 has surpassed 500 crores gross at the worldwide box office, doing this in just 11 days since its release on August 15. ## Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the leading roles, Stree 2 has become the first Bollywood and the second Indian film of 2024 after Kalki 2898 AD to top 500 crores worldwide. Overall, it is the 14th Bollywood and 23rd Indian movie to achieve this milestone. ## The blockbuster sequel has grossed approximately 460 crores at the Indian box office and an estimated 90 crores overseas, for a worldwide cume of approximately 540 crores in 11 days. This makes it the 23rd highest-grossing Indian and 14th Bollywood film at the worldwide box office. ## Stree 2 will cross Dhoom 3 (558 crores gross) and Tiger Zinda Hai (558 crores gross) with its second Monday's (12th day) collection to become the 21st biggest Indian grosser of all time.
