The much-awaited horror thriller film, Durgamati: The Myth starring Bhumi Pednekar finally premiered on Amazon Prime Video on December 11. The movie is directed by G. Ashok and is an official remake of his own Telugu-Tamil bilingual film Bhaagamathie which starred Anushka Shetty in the lead role. ## While the expectations were high from Durgamati (earlier titled Durgavati), the Hindi remake of Bhaagamathie couldn't reprise the magic which the original film had. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Akshay Kumar, and Vikram Malhotra, Durgamati has been disappointing largely because it failed to scare people which is its joner. The popular TV actress and Bigg Boss 13 fame, Devoleena Bhattacharjee has alleged that her close friend, late actress Divya Bhatnagar, was a victim of domestic violence by her husband Gagan Shetty.## The 'Saath Nibhana Sathiya' actress has shared a video on her Instagram account on Thursday (December 10) where she alleged Gagan Shetty of subjecting Divya to tremendous physical assault and mental harassment while she was alive. Devoleena alleged that Shetty had smashed Divya's head just three days after their wedding, regularly hit her with a belt, and lock her in a room.## Calling Divya's husband a criminal, Devoleena further alleged that he had threatened to kill the late actress' brother if she opened her mouth.## Addressing Divya's husband, Devoleena says in Hindi in the video, "Gagan Shetty aka Gabru Shetty and don't know how many more names you have because criminals have many names... Maybe you had scared Divya so much so that she doesn't tell anything to her family members or friends, but she has shared incidents of assault that you committed on her, to some of her friends and fans, with whom she used to chat. She had even written about it. Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has dropped Yograj Singh, father of former cricketer Yuvraj Singh, from his upcoming film, 'The Kashmir Files', after the actor's speech during the farmers' protest recently. According to Agnihotri, Yograj Singh lost his job as the fallout of an allegedly hateful speech he gave at the ongoing farmer protests in Delhi-NCR. ## "I had cast Mr. Yograj Singh for my film 'The Kashmir Files' for a very prominent role and I had long chats with him. I knew that he has a history but I ignored as I generally do not mix art and artiste. I keep artiste and politics away. When he gave the speech it was shocking, and I cannot tolerate someone talking about women. It is just not about Hindu women or Muslim women but he spoke so badly about women and on top of that he tried to create a hateful decisive narrative", Agnihotri said in a statement. ## Recently, while giving a speech at the ongoing farmer protests in NCR, Yograj Singh reportedly commented on Hindu women saying "their women were sold for two cents. When their women and daughters were abducted by people like Ahmed Shah Durrani and sold off, it was we Sikhs who saved them. These are the people who have betrayed us. This community has been slaves for thousands of years".## Agnihotri added, "I have sent him an official termination letter I don't care what he replies. I am not a kind of commercial filmmaker. I make films with a purpose. I make films that expose the truth and I don't want this person to become part of the truth. Whatever he said, it was hateful and this kind of people just want to create violence".## Talking about the film 'The Kashmir Files', it narrates the story of Kashmiri Pandit Refugees and based upon the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus carried out by Islamists in the early 1990s. The film was originally announced for August 15, 2020, release but postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic. Now, the first schedule of The Kashmir Files started this week in Mussoorie.
