On Monday (July 20), the International Cricket Council took an inevitable decision of postponing the upcoming Men's T20 World Cup which was scheduled to be held in Australia from 18 October 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic that brought cricket to its knees earlier this year. ## With the postponement of this year's Men's T2O World Cup, the next two ICC Men's Tournaments have been rescheduled. On Monday's meeting of the IBC Board (the commercial subsidiary of the ICC), windows for the next three ICC men's events were also agreed upon.## The windows for the next three Men's events are as follows:## ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 will be held in October-November 2021, with the final on November 14, 2021. ## ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 will be held in October-November 2022, with the final on November 13, 2022. ## ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 will be held in India in October-November 2023, with the final on November 26, 2023. ## "The IBC Board agreed to continue to monitor the rapidly changing situation and assess all the information available in order to make a considered decision on future hosts to ensure the sport is able to stage safe and successful global events in 2021 and 2022", the ICC stated in a release.## "The IBC Board will also continue to evaluate the situation in relation to being able to stage the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2021 in New Zealand in February next year. In the meantime, planning for this event continues as scheduled".## ICC Chief Executive Manu Sawhney said, "We have undertaken a comprehensive and complex contingency planning exercise and through this process, our number one priority has been to protect the health and safety of everyone involved in the sport.## "The decision to postpone the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was taken after careful consideration of all of the options available to us and gives us the best possible opportunity of delivering two safe and successful T20 World Cups for fans around the world.## "Our members now have the clarity they need around event windows to enable them to reschedule lost bilateral and domestic cricket. Moving the Men’s Cricket World Cup to a later window is a critical element of this and gives us a better chance of maintaining the integrity of the qualification process. This additional time will be used to reschedule games that might be lost because of the pandemic ensuring qualification can be decided on the field of play.## "Throughout this process, we have worked closely with our key stakeholders including governments, Members, broadcasters, partners, and medical experts to enable us to reach a collective decision for the good of the game and our fans. The ongoing debate on nepotism and favoritism in the Bollywood industry which sparked after the demise of a 34-year old talented actor Sushant Singh Rajput is gaining momentum. While several actors have already put their views on this burning issue, the latest to join the debate is veteran actor Govinda. ## Speaking to Hindustan Times in his latest interview, Govinda opens up about his struggles in the industry and the movie mafia who dictate their terms about how the industry will function and more.## "Earlier whoever was talented, got work. Every film would get equal opportunities in theatres. But now, there are four or five people who dictate the whole business. They decide if they want to let films of those who aren’t close to them, release properly or not. Some of my good films also didn't get the right kind of release. But, things are changing now", Govinda said.## While nepotism is a well known aspect of the industry, there is another burning question which making noise is if star kids and industry insiders have easy access because of favoritism than people with no filmy connections? Govinda, who is the son of late actress Nirmala Devi and Arun Kumar Ahuja, says that it is not the case entirely in Bollywood.## Despite having the filmy background, Govinda recapitulate that he too had his share of struggle and wait for hours to meet filmmakers as the scenario had changed by the time he became an actor.## "There was a gap of 33 years between them (his parents) leaving the film industry and me becoming an actor at 21. So by the time I entered the industry, many new producers had come who didn't know much about my origination. I had to wait for hours to meet them. Actor Farhan Akhtar's today (July 20) announced that Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khatter, and Siddhant Chaturvedi will be star in a movie titled 'Phone Bhoot' under his production house Excel Entertainment. So, Akshay plans to shoot it by October end. ## After Prithviraj Chauhan, the actor has Anand L Rai's Atrangi Re, co-starring Sara Ali Khan, and Dhanush. For this film, Akshay Kumar is required to shoot for two weeks. He will allot the dates once the shooting kickstarts.## After Atrangi Re, the 52-year old finally, will start work on Sajid Nadiadwala's Bachchan Pandey by December-January. "He has a team in place to ensure that all SOPs are strictly followed by everyone. Safety will be the priority on the set," said a source to the daily. ## Next year, Akshay Kumar to work with Ekta Kapoor for an action-comedy film which is a remake of a Telugu film. Actor Kangana Ranaut has been very vocal about the discussion around nepotism, mental health, favoritism, and much ever since Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide which Kangana considers to be a murder by the powerful people in the industry. She also talked about how she was once threatened by Aditya Chopra to finish her career.## Speaking with Arnab Goswami for Republic TV, Kangana Ranaut said, "I am not saying that anyone wanted Sushant to die, but definitely ruined. These people are emotional vultures. They want to see people lynch themselves. Why is Mumbai Police not summoning the 'powerful four'.## Calling Sushant's death a murder by the powerful people of the industry, Kangana reveals why "I call it murder because I do feel abetment of suicide. According to section 306, it is as much of a criminal offense as physically killing one person. So for me, from day 1, I’ve been calling it murder".## While taking on Aditya Chopra, the actress opened up about the 'evil' contracts of big production houses. She said, "Their contracts are evil, you can't do anything without their permission. (Sanjay Leela) Bhansali wanted him for Ram-Leela, but Aditya Chopra did not allow him to do the film, so he made Ranveer Singh do the film. Bhansali has not chased any actor for five years, he wanted him for Bajirao Mastani, again Aditya Chopra did not let him do the film, why because Sushant did not know how to do 'chaplusi' (being a sycophant). They sabotaged his career".## Adding further, the 33-year old said, "YRF talent agency had been handling his work and prevented him from working with other directors and instead promised him a movie with a big director (Shekhar Kapur). That film was canceled too. When Sushant rebuked and claimed autonomy over his career, they had a big showdown and Aditya Chopra told him that no one will work with you".## The 'Queen' actress also revealed her being threatened by filmmaker Aditya Chopra for denying Salman Khan's Sultan. She said, "The director came to my house and narrated the script. I had a meeting with Aditya Chopra… just so that I could express my apologies in person and he was fine at the time. But later a news piece came out saying 'Kangana said No to Sultan'. And then he messaged me, 'How dare you'! You say No to me'. Recently in an interview, filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar confirmed that he is planning to make a superhero film series that will begin with Katrina Kaif's film. Now, the movie with Katrina Kaif said to be a two-part film that will directly premiere on Netflix as a Netflix Original Film to which the streaming platform has sanctioned Rs 80 to 85 crore to the director for the first part of the movie. ## A leading portal revealed that Ali Abbas Zafar was keen to make the film for the big screen but lack of funds forced him to go for the OTT platform.## "It's a massive film mounted on a never seen before scale for a female protagonist. Ali was very keen on making it as a feature film for the big screen, but he wasn’t able to raise the funds that were needed, following which he decided to go the OTT way. The filmmaker is of the belief that his next will be a game-changer of sorts for the genre and will pave way for many more women-centric action films in Bollywood".## The portal further revealed that "This would be the biggest budgeted film in the history of Bollywood led by women".## Adding further that there will be never seen before action in the movie and Katrina Kaif is also training at home and living no stone unturned to pull off stunts.## "It's solely Ali's vision and passion for the film that has got him a mega-deal with Netflix. Any other director would have shelved the film, but he is keen on making Katrina the first female superhero of India. The script calls for some outstanding special effects and Netflix is also excited to be a part of a revolution in Bollywood".## "The budget of part two will be decided based on how part one of the superhero film fares. But the idea is to go a notch higher as the story moves forward and take a stride in budget too, going above Rs. 100 crore, taking the net-worth of Katrina's film close to Rs. 200 crore".## The movie will go on floors once the normalcy returns and it will be shot in India and overseas for high visual effects.
