Mumbai, June 18 - After scoring a big success with Shaitaan, which was the remake of the Gujarati movie Vash, Bollywood star Ajay Devgn is all set to thrill the audience with its sequel. The first film also starred R. Madhavan, Jyothika, and Janaki Bodiwala. ## According to the latest report by Peepingmoon.com, Shaitaan is being developed into a full-fledged franchise with a sequel officially in the works. Unlike the first movie, Shaitaan 2 won't be the remake of Vash Level 2, which is scheduled to hit the big screen in August this year. ## Slated to go on floors in the first quarter of 2026, the sequel will reportedly shift its setting to Konkan, a region in Maharashtra known as a hub for black magic practices, and it will be an original script. Vikas Bahl will return to direct Shaitaan 2. ## Aamil Keeyan Khan has been developing the sequel since last year, and he is believed to have nearly finished the scripting, with only minor refinements remaining. Bahl will start preparation for the film after the release of his upcoming romantic comedy, "Dil Ka Darwaaza Khol Na Darling". ## Shaitaan is one of Ajay Devgn's upcoming 6th franchise films, with others including "Son of Sardaar 2" (July 25), "De De Pyaar De 2" (November 14), "Dhamaal 4" (Eid 2026), "Drishyam 3" (October 2, 2026), and "Golmaal 5", which is expected to go on floors early next year for 2027 release. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, June 17 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has often shown his love for big screen cinema, and he is doing the same for his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par by protecting its exclusive theatrical window, even at the cost of crores of rupees. ## It is known to all that Aamir has not decided to sell the film's post-theatrical OTT rights, as he wants people to watch the film on the big screen without having any idea when it will be available on home media for free. While his decision is being cheered by the trade, he has sacrificed a huge sum to stand firm on his decision. ## According to trade analyst Komal Nahta, Aamir has turned down a huge 120 crore offer from Amazon Prime Video for the film's post-theatrical OTT release. The decision he has taken is not because he wanted more money from OTT platforms, but because he has decided to try and change the game. ## Normally, the films are made available on OTT after an 8-weeks of their theatrical release, and this is something Aamir is completely against. He believes that there should be no fixed window for any movie and that they should be played in theatres as long as possible. ## In the post-COVID-19 world, filmmakers started having pre-agreements with OTT platforms with a fixed theatrical window. Trade believes that this is one of the main reasons footfalls have reduced in cinemas, especially for mid-size films, as there is a section of audience which is ready to wait for 8 weeks to watch them for 'free', which was not the case before Covid-19. ## This is something Aamir wants to change, and he is leading by example by not selling OTT rights of Sitaare Zameen Par, and has vowed to do the same with his upcoming movies. Chennai, June 17 - Superstar Rajinikanth's action drama Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is easily the most anticipated Tamil movie of the year with buzz is soaring with each passing day. It is scheduled to hit the big screen on August 14 this year. ## Coolie is a dream collaboration with some of best talents attached to it and the trade is highly optimistic about the same despite not much related to the film has been released yet. The movie is being seen as a potential highest-grossing Tamil title ever, and sensing that, the makers are getting record-breaking business offers worldwide. ## According to the Tamil trade reports, the overseas theatrical rights of the movie are quoted at a huge 80 crores, which is a record for a Tamil movie, beating Thalapathy Vijay's "Jana Nayagan", which has attracted 70+ crores (refundable advance structure) overseas business. ## Apart from overseas markets, Coolie has reportedly been offered a record deal for home state, Tamil Nadu's theatrical rights. The deal is expected to be confirmed shortly. Additionally, the theatrical rights for the rest of the Indian market are also being finalised for record business. ## The film features a Pan India star cast, including Nagarajuna, Aamir Khan (cameo), Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Shruti Haasan, among others, in prominent roles. Nagarjuna is playing the antagonist role, and the Telugu audience is excited to see him in this avatar, while Aamir Khan's presence is also expected to boost the film's box office prospects in the Hindi market. ## The biggest Tamil grosser of all time is Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's "2.0" (745 crores gross worldwide), and Coolie will be eyeing this record if it manages to strike favourable word of mouth. Mumbai, June 17 - It has been more than a year since the shoot of superstar Akshay Kumar-fronted Welcome To The Jungle kicked off. But things are not as smooth as they seemed, as the filming of this much-awaited biggie is on hold since August 2024. ## There have been reports that the shoot of Welcome 3 would resume soon, but the latest development suggests that the situation is grim around the movie, which has landed in big trouble owing to financial conflicts, according to Pinkvilla. ## It is known to all that the film was last shot in August 2025, and nearly 70% of the shoot was completed. The report says that over the last 6 months, around 2-3 shooting schedules were cancelled, and a new schedule, slated to take place in June, has also been cancelled. ## The actors of the movie are confused about the things going on in the movie. "They have been allotting dates for the shoot of Welcome To The Jungle to producer Firoz Nadiadwala, and the same stands cancelled at the last minute due to logistical and financial issues", says the report. ## In another alarming development, Pinkvilla reports that some of the originally cast actors have left the film, over non-payment of dues and an unclear situation, and the remaining are still lending their support for the love of the franchise. There is no clarity when the movie will resume and hit the big screen. ## The film is being produced by Firoz Nadiadwala, whose other films are also in the same situation. Mumbai, June 17 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's much-awaited comedy drama Sitaare Zameen Par, which is the adaptation of the 2018 Spanish film Champions, has reportedly been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for June 20 release. ## Directed by RS Prasanna, the film was in trouble over a few scenes, as the CBFC stalled the censor formalities and requested a couple of cuts. However, Aamir and director Prasanna disagreed with the same, according to a report by Bollywood Hungama. ## It is said that the film has now been cleared by the CBFC, though it is not mentioned how both parties reached a consensus, as per the report. The film is reportedly 2 hours and 35 minutes long, making it shorter than Taare Zameen Par, of which the upcoming film is a spiritual prequel. ## Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Sitaare Zameen Par follows a suspended basketball coach who must serve community service by helping a team of players with disabilities prepare for a tournament. Hyderabad, June 16 - Director Rohit Shetty and Bollywood star Ajay Devgn are one of the most successful combos of Indian cinema. The duo has worked together in 13 films and is all set for their 14th collaboration next year. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Shetty and Devgn will next team up for Golmaal 5, which has been in the pipeline for a long time. The director is currently shooting for the Rakesh Maria biopic with John Abraham, which is expected to be wrapped by September this year. ## Shetty is aiming to lock the final edit of the biopic by the end of this year for an early 2026 release, before taking Golmaal 5 on the floors by February/March 2026. It is said that the basic plot of G5 is locked, and the work on writing the screenplay is already underway. ## "A fresh set of writers are working on the script of Golmaal FIVE, which is expected to be locked by September 2025, notwithstanding the dialogues and polishing work", says the report. Mumbai, June 16 - There were three new Hollywood releases this past weekend at the Indian box office. Despite the competition with Indian titles, all three films, which include "How To Train Your Dragon", "Ballerina", and "Materialists", did decent business in the opening weekend. ## How To Train Your Dragon, which is the live-action remake of the 2010 animated film, was the top Hollywood grosser among all the films. It took a decent opening of an estimated 2.60 crores gross before jumping over the weekend to collect an estimated 12.75 crores gross in 3 days in India in all versions. ## The word of mouth for HTTYD is positive, which should help the movie to continue doing steady business, though the competition will intensify once Aamir Khan's "Sitaare Zameen Par" arrives on June 20. The film will be looking to finish with 30+ crores gross, which is a good result. ## And de Armes' action thriller Ballerina, the spin-off of the John Wick franchise, grossed approximately 8.25 crores in the opening weekend. It is a decent result for the film, given its A-rated content and strong competition. It needs to be seen how the film performs in the coming days, as word of mouth is mixed. ## There is this romantic comedy Materialists, featuring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal, which was the biggest gainer in terms of showing growth. Hyderabad, June 16 - The teaser of Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted horror-comedy The Raja Saab has been released, and surprisingly, it seems to have exceeded the expectations with a solid impact on viewers. ## The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, is probably the least hyped movie of Prabhas in recent times, but everything is expected to change after the release of the teaser. In the post-COVID-19 world, horror-comedy films have worked wonders at the box office, and Raja Saab can be the next in the list. ## Normally, Prabhas' films open to a very good collection, due to the huge fan following he carries. The Raja Saab has all the elements a film needs to work at the box office, be it romance, comedy, horror, larger-than-life world-building, and a solid star cast. ## Backed by People Media Factory, The Raja Saab leads Prabhas into an uncharted territory of horror-comedy genre, and he seems to be having fun in the film. The actor's look in the film reminds of his vintage avatar, something his fans wanted to see. ## The VFX quality of the teaser is top-notch, and the story also seems to be superb, which promises non-stop entertainment. The background score by Thaman has elevated the teaser. Mumbai, June 16 - Superstar Akshay Kumar-led Housefull 5 continues to do well and has crossed 150 crores net collection after scoring a good second weekend domestically. The film witnessed almost a 100% growth from the second Friday to Sunday. ## The comedy entertainer scored approximately 6 crore net on the second Friday, followed by a jump of around 60% for 9.50 crores net on Saturday, and another 20% jump on Sunday for around 11.50 crores net. It minted approximately 27 crores net in the second weekend, which is down by around 65% from the opening weekend. The total collection of the movie is around 154 crores net in 10 days. ## Housefull 5 has been enjoying almost a free run so far, but superstar Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par is coming next week, which means the screens will be shared. The good thing for HF5 is that the word of mouth is in favour, which should ensure enough number of screens to continue scoring steady collections at lower levels. ## At this point, the film is heading for 175+ crore net finish, but the entry into the 200 crore club can also not be ruled out, depending on how it performs after the arrival of SZP.
