Kochi, April 5 - Superstar Mohanlal's action thriller L2: Empuraan has become the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time after beating last year's mega blockbuster Manjummel Boys in just 9 days at the worldwide box office. ## The sequel to the 2019 movie Lucifer, Empuraan has grossed approximately 241.50+ crores worldwide, including 106.50+ crores domestically through the second Friday. It has beaten the lifetime total of Manjummel Boys, which scored 241 crores in 2024. ## Empuraan is currently the third biggest Mollywood grosser in India after 2018 (110.50 crores gross) and Aadujeevitham (167.50 crores), while it is by far the biggest grosser at the overseas box office with 135+ crores, which is nearing double the second best Manjummel Boys (73.40 crores). ## Among the biggest grossers of the year, Empuraan is currently in third place behind Sankranthiki Vasthunam (255+ crores gross) and Chhaava (800+ crores gross) globally. It will top 250 crores gross and is also expected to beat Sankranthiki Vasthunam by tomorrow to become the number 2 grosser.## L2 is produced by Aashirvad Cinemas in association with Sree Gokulam Movies. Hyderabad, April 5 - Superstar Ram Charan is looking for a big comeback with Uppena director Buchi Babu Sana's rustic sports action drama Peddi. The film is currently in production, and the makers are set to unveil the first look glimpse, titled Peddi First Shot, on April 6. ## Ahead of the glimpse, the release date of the movie has been revealed. According to the latest Telugu media reports, Peddi will hit the big screens on Ram Charan's 41st birthday, on March 27, 2026, in multiple languages, and the same was confirmed with the first look glimpse teaser. ## The film will have a clash with Nani's The Paradise, which is scheduled to be released on March 26 and is one of the most anticipated Telugu movies of the next year. It is directed by Srikanth Odela, and the makers recently unveiled the first look teaser which met with a unanimous positive reception. ## Peddi is an important movie for Ram Charan, as his last film, Game Changer, performed poorly at the global box office. Hyderabad, April 6 — Telugu superstar Jr. NTR has confirmed his future film line-up during the success celebrations of Telugu comedy Mad Square, which featured his brother-in-law, Nithin, as one of the main leads. The RRR star was invited as the chief guest for the event, where he confirmed his next four films. ## It is known to all that Jr. NTR is presently shooting for Prashanth Neel's action drama, tentatively titled Dragon, along with his big Bollywood debut under Yash Raj Films, War 2, a spy action thriller which also stars Hrithik Roshan and is directed by Ayan Mukerji. ## Apart from the aforementioned films, the Telugu superstar reaffirmed Devara 2, to be directed by Koratala Siva, amid the endless rumours. The actor stressed that the second part of his 2024 hit will definitely be made, and the shoot for the same will start after Dragon. ## There have been rumours that Jr. NTR will team with Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar for an action drama film. While the actor didn't mention the director's name, he confirmed a film with producer Naga Vamsi's Sithara Entertainment. Mumbai, April 4 - Superstar Akshay Kumar's historical biographical drama Kesari: Chapter 2 is set to storm the big screen on April 18 and ahead of the much-awaited release, the trailer was launched on April 3 during an event in Delhi amid a rousing reception. ## The trailer of the film met with a thunderous response with unanimous praise all around. The trailer scored one of the highest viewership for an Indian movie of the year as makers officially announced that it generated 130+ million views across social media platforms in the first 24 hours. ## On YouTube, the blockbuster promo scored 20.70 million views with over 263K likes in the first full day. Kochi, April 4 - Superstar Mohanlal's action thriller L2: Empuraan has topped 100 crores gross collection at the Indian box office, becoming only the 4th Malayalam movie of all-time to achieve the feat. ## Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Empuraan scored approximately 4.50 crores gross collection on its 8th day, which took its total to around 103 crores gross domestically. The collection includes approximately 71.50 crores gross in the home state, Kerala. ## Empuraan is the 4th Malayalam film after Manjummel Boys (167.50+ crores gross), 2018 (110.50 crores gross), and Pulimurugan (100 crores gross), and the second for Mohanlal to score the milestone of 100 crores gross in the domestic market.## The film might become the biggest Mollywood grosser in India, but for that to happen, it needs to perform strongly outside Kerala, which hasn't happened due to mixed word of mouth. The controversy surrounding the films hasn't helped it much either, as it has minted around 31 crores in the rest of India market in 8 days. ## Meanwhile, Empuraan is nearing the top Manjummel Boys (241 crores) at the global box office to become the biggest Malayalam grosser of all time. Mumbai, April 3 - Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor is upping the ante after delivering one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema history in the form of horror-comedy Stree 2. The actress is reportedly being flooded with scripts, and she has reportedly finalized a couple of films as the follow-up to Stree 2. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Shraddha has been offered films by T Series, Dharma Productions, and Excel Entertainment, among others. While the actress has shown interest in some of the films, she is reportedly teaming up with Tumbbad director Rahi Anil Barve for a unique high-concept thriller.## The yet untitled film will be produced by Ekta Kapoor, who has been discussing multiple scripts with Shraddha, and they have zeroed in on the script developed by Rahi Anil Barve. The script is locked and the actress was bowled over by the uniqueness that Rahi's story has to offer. ## It is said that the director will take around 3-4 months in pre-production, and the makers aim to start shooting by July/August 2025. It is expected to be Shraddha's immediate next after Stree 2, which was released in August 2024 and went on gross over 850 crores at the worldwide box office. ## Shraddha already has Stree 3 in the pipeline, but the report says that she will do at least 2 films before starting this Maddock Films' tentpole. Apart from the film with the Tumbbad filmmaker, the actress is in talks to reunite with her Aashiqui 2 team of director Mohit Suri and actor Aditya Roy Kapur for a love story, which will also be produced by Ekta.## Stay tuned...
